Oh, Justin Bieber

I do think Justin Bieber (or Usher) has made a name for himself, though. The Belieber thing... that does it. Who else has a cult of purple-wearing followers like that? Elvis, Michael Jackson, Jimmy Buffet... Bieber will be one of those guys.

I wouldn't put Justin Bieber in the same category with those legends. the Biebs will end up a train wreck like Britney Spears. Before he's 25 he'll be washed up.

My daughter was a HUGE Justin B fan, but is more into Ed Sheeran now. While she still likes Justin's music, and I think it is OK, I think he is turning into a little creep. His look, his tweeting his hospital picture, his pants, etc. He needs to get it together, or this will be yet another 'star' I will refuse to let my 13 y/o support him by purchasing anything with his name on it.

I feel bad for the boy. He has no idea how messed up he is because, as a PP has said, he hasn't had the chance to grow up properly. He has no perspective. His view of his own place in the world is horribly skewed and I don't think it will end well. It's a shame there isn't some way to protect talented children so they don't end up like Bieber or Lohan or Michael Jackson.

I think the thing about Bieber is that in addition to the above, he appears to have the added disadvantage of being not particularly bright.

And you're saying that Michael Jackson didn't have his fair share of problems, growing up in the music industry?

Bieber isn't a legend... yet. But at least someone from that generation is going to be. And right now, my vote is on him.

The next Michael Jackson from my generation? I think it's Justin Timberlake. He made it through child stardom as a Mouseketeer, a boy band, and now he's a well-respected musician, actor, and comedian.

It was kind of arrogant and/or insensitive, but he might have been right, actually. I sure if she was 14 in the 60's, she would have loved the Beatles. :confused3

He is a spoiled, arrogant idiot. That said, he may not have understood who Anne Frank was. So many people are in denial about the Holocaust. I work with a woman, in her early 40s who never heard of Anne Frank! Blew me away.

I would love to give him that benefit of the doubt, but he had just gone through the museum...

But I'm glad he got to the core of the tragedy of Anne Frank: that she never got to hear Justin Bieber's music.

OK, I'll admit it: I'm judging.

To make a comment like that just shows such an appalling lack of common sense, of a sense of history, or an understanding of what the Holocaust was...

He should be embarassed, as should his parents, his teachers, his fans and his next door neighbor.

I don't care what anyone thinks of his musical or artistic ability. (And, no, none of my kids are fans. But his music isn't offensive; I wouldn't care if they chose to listen to it. )

But for anyone over the age of 8 to sprout such idiocy is abominable.

I hope someone has the good sense to spill some White Out over the comments. Not to protect his reputation, but to spare all the Holocaust survivors, and the families of all those who died, of the knowledge that any adult on this planet could take their suffering so lightly.

:thumbsup2 I agree 100%. A self centered entitled brat.

OMG, Justin Beiber is the same age as me..however, I'm brighter then him. Silly self absorbed twit.

I really want to think Anne Frank would have had better taste than that.

He was a cute kid in an Alvin-the-Chipmunk way when he first started out, but he gets less attractive by the day, especially with the dorky hats and the weird droopy purple leopard pants. I get the feeling he's trying really hard to be a 'bad boy', but it just comes across as lame and desperate.

He worked well enough, musically, as a kid with his voice processed through auto tune. At least he didn't sound any worse than any of the other tween flavors-of-the-month.

But he just doesn't have the talent to transition to a musical career as an adult and he knows it. He's getting close to being played out; he's getting too old to be singing puppy love songs to 8 year olds. I think that's why we're seeing all of these attention-getting stunts.

I'll acknowledge that he didn't have a normal upbringing.

But let's face it, folks: if becoming educated had been a priority, he could have made it happen. It's not exactly as though he's underprivledged.

At which point in your life do you cut your losses and stop placing blame? When do you become and adult who takes responsibility for the choices you've made? His ignorance isn't a result of a lack of opportunities, it's a result of a choice to be self absorbed. He chose fame and fortune, but so have any number of celebrities who have also chosen to become educated.

If celebrities like Dakota Fanning, Emma Watson and Dylan and Cole Sprouse are finding time for college, couldn't Justin Beiber at least manage a basic education? No, college isn't for everyone. But I would be shocked if any of the high school sophomores I teach exhibited the self-absorbtion and ignorance evident from this gaffe. How could he possibly go through the Anne Frank museum and remain ignorant enough to write a comment like that one?? One of the many jobs of education is to open your eyes to the world outside your front door. This 19 year old adult-- who, by the way, is of German descent-- who has had opportunites that most people can never dream of, has apparently chosen to be remarkably ignorant.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - ignorance can be corrected. But if you're stupid, you're stuck with that.

But why would he when the people surrounding him recently blamed Selena Gomez for the way he has been acting.

I've been to the Anne Frank house, very weird when walking around there.

Anyways ... I read it too what he wrote in there, and if it were me, I wouldn't have wrote that, I don't know, it doesn't feel "right" in some way, hard to explain.

I do think his mom should put him in his place, 19 or not.
I was reading comments on his first Belgian concert from this tour, he was also about an hour late.
Again! No money left over to buy a decent watch?

I find acts like these very disrespectfull towards your fans, specially because I think he knows there are little children among them, and when he finally gets on stage, does he truly apologize? That's just a nice thing to do in the end, I think.

Just my thoughts.

I do think I feel this way about it, is because his is so young I guess.
Easier to judge, I don't know?

I've been to a Bruce Springsteen concert, he was 30 minutes late, and I really couldn't care, lol.
Maybe I have bit more respect for what this guy has done in the past 30 years.

He thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread...ewe he's cocky arrogant little boy...
