Oh, Just A Few GALLONS of Pixie Dust! - A July/August 2012 TR

Just stopping by to wish you a Merry Christmas!

MerryChristmasDisney_KIP2012_PS_zpsb5d9ddb3.png

Sounds like y'all were having a lovely time in the World Showcase! Sorry your dad & brother had to leave. We all get a little grumpy sometimes...even at Disney. All of your pictures are so pretty! Oh - and I agree with you about Mulan in Once Upon a Time...

trying to get caught back up on everything! Too bad that Jacob wasn't feeling the WS that day, but how nice that your mom got to spend the afternoon with her girls. Love all the pics from China--it's beautiful!

I'm dying to meet Mexican Donald! He just looks so cute! Maybe next trip I can convince DD that he should go on the list with the princesses she HAS to meet.:lmao:

Hey Marissa,

Belated Merry Christmas to you. I have FINALLY had a chance to catch up. Ariel is my fav also(I know, you would have never guessed that):rotfl2: I have never met her either. I will this trip for sure. And I can not wait to go on the Little Mermaid ride either. It really might be the first thing I do.

The family picture that you all took at Akershus was REALLY nice. You all looked so perfect in it. Even the one with your mom's eyes closed was good. She had a big smile.

I also share a love with Mexican Donald. When I was little I had my picture taken with him. After the picture with him he played with around with me and my sister cause know one else was coming to see him. I think it was really almost 20 mins worth of tag and hugs. It was very cool looking back at it.

The other think that cracked me up was, that you called Jacob Grumpy Gills. I have that as a ring tone when my sister calls me. It just made me laugh that you said it.

I should now be able to keep up since Christmas is over. I know can get back to my Disney life and start working on my PTR.

Hope all is well and can't wait to read more!!!

Ohhh Mexican Donald! I just love that little guy... but I still need to meet him! Donald is one of Matt's favorites, so I told him this trip we are going to hunt down Donald and get a photo with him.. Mexican Donald is where it's at though!

Man, I hear Jacob. Sometimes you just get pooped, and let's be honest, World Showcase in the sun can be EXHAUSTING. Seriously, it's so so hot! I remember when we went last trip it was so hot out and I was sick, so sometimes you just want to go relax and be out of the sun for a bit. Bummer they missed out on the rest of WS, but totally understandable!

I need to spend more time in China, there is a lot I haven't done in that pavilion! I do love that ceiling though, so pretty.

I don't get the African Outpost; it's just kind of random... I hope they put in a new country there at some point!

New subscriber over here! :waves arms frantically:

I love your TR! I mean, I'm still on the first day, but so far, so good! :)

When I started planning my family's first disney vacation, one of the first things I did was find the FH Disney episodes and watch them to get in the spirit! lol, so I find it utterly amazing and also hilarious that you are ob-SESSED with it! Love all of the quotes and the tour of GF looking for Tanner Family landmarks :thumbsup2

Hi Marissa!!! I am so excited to have found your tr!! I've spent the entire weekend reading ---- ok, fine. I've had to do other things, too, but not half as important! ;) You remind me of myself --- crazy kid-like who doesn't care if she's 45 (me----not you!) I don't know where I get it either, I think we are just special kind of people.

Your family is so nice! I don't know if you argue at all but you haven't mentioned any disagreements. That's amazing! Jacob is an absolute sweetheart! He looked kind of shy with Cinderella, though...

anyways, I'll be anxiously waiting for the next chapter!!! :goodvibes

To hoping 2013 is a wonderful year and brings many more magical moments (and Disney trips)!

HappyNewYearDIS_KIP2012_PS_zps2a08e68a.png

More time exploring World Showcase is high on my list for the March trip. :thumbsup2 The problem is that if you really did a thorough job of seeing all the movies, visiting every shop and museum in every country, and ate at at least a few of the restaurants, you could spend an entire trip just in Epcot!

Well I hope you get to do that! Seeing as how you are staying at Beach Club, that might be entirely possible! Hahah, that is so true! I wonder if anyone's ever done that!

Yeah I've kinda fallen off the face of the planet again. I'm probably going to explain over on my ptr which is my next stop after your tr!

I LOVE EXPEDITION EVEREST. It's really just heavenly. I have even dreamt about that rollercoaster I love it so much. I'm not mad about the yeti either, especially since you can still see him. It's fine that he doesn't lunge at me.

I love Hercules. Seriously, one of my favs. When I was little, I had this baby Pegasus plush that was my absolute favorite one. I loved him. I wish I still had him! There are so many hilarious quips in that movie...it's definitely underrated!

I totally get how the relaxing, not technically doing anything but people watching and enjoying the company could be one of the best memories. I have a similar memory with my son in MK that I wouldn't trade for anything. It's always nice to slow down and just appreciate the moments before they slip away!

I would love to eat at Garden Grill one day. And I actually really enjoy Living With the Land. Now I just need to remember to pick up one of the seed things so I can grow something from there at home. That would be magical!

I'm glad you got to take a spin in a super stretch, but am sad you missed out on the love of my life, ToT. I understand though. It's a pain when it's that crowded. Sounds like you had such a great time in Epcot though.

I LOVE Akershus. I am slightly intimidated to go for anything but breakfast though. But I am OBSESSED with the breakfast. They have the best potato casserole type of thing. OMG if only I could have it now. That would make my life!

I have never ventured too deeply into most showcases. Idk why. Epcot and I have a semi rough history. Last time, I finally had the BEST time, but we're still taking it slow to make sure things don't end up bad. (Lol everyone I go with always ends up grumpy there. I don't know why.)

Can't wait for more!

Don't worry about it girl. I know you've been busy (considering I have been neglecting replying to comments on my TR and replied to your PTR days ago! Hahaha oh, me).

Yeah, exactly! I honestly don't even look at him, because even the sight of him freaks me out! I scare easily. Hahah!

It's SUCH a great movie! I don't understand why it isn't more popular.

That's so true! That time with your son must have been amazing. I loved our Epcot time!

I enjoy Living with the Land a lot, too! It's super interesting. Wow, why didn't I know you could do that? I want to do that!

Hahah yeah, also, the last time I rode Tower of Terror I kinda blacked out for a second, so I've been a wimp about riding it the past couple trips. Whenever I go back though I definitely want to ride it again.

I've heard great things about the breakfast! You should give lunch a try sometime, though! We all really enjoyed it!

Oh no! I hope next time you go that won't happen! That doesn't sound fun.

Thanks for catching up! I'm hoping to get time to do another update in another day or two! I've been SLACKING OFF with this thing, it's so sad!

I just missed meeting Mexican Donald at the wine and dine after party - so sad!

Next time. :thumbsup2

Just stopping by to wish you a Merry Christmas!

MerryChristmasDisney_KIP2012_PS_zpsb5d9ddb3.png

Thank you so much, Timmy! I'm super late replying to this, but I hope you had a great Christmas! I definitely did!

Sounds like y'all were having a lovely time in the World Showcase! Sorry your dad & brother had to leave. We all get a little grumpy sometimes...even at Disney. All of your pictures are so pretty! Oh - and I agree with you about Mulan in Once Upon a Time...

Definitely! Yeah, I felt bad for my dad that he was missing so much, but hopefully someday he'll be able to go back and see everything he missed! Oh thank you! I was pretty proud of some of those. My camera isn't too fancy, but it gets the job done! Hahha. Oh goodness, yeah... that Mulan. Eeeesh. Hahaha.

trying to get caught back up on everything!

I'm with ya! Yeah, we all had a nice day! The guys got to have some guy time, too. I think Jacob was just a little burnt out on being out in the hot sun all day, since it was our fifth day. I'm hoping that someday we'll all be able to go when it isn't summer! Thanks, I love China too!

Ahh yes, next trip! I read your updates earlier today, and I remember you saying something about how Maddie loves to hug Donald because he's so soft... so, that could work!

Hey Marissa,

Hi!! Thank you so much for the belated Christmas greeting. We had a great Christmas, and I hope your family did too!

Oh my goodness, as a fellow Ariel lover, I hope you get to meet her next time! And YES... I CANNOT wait to ride Journey of the Little Mermaid! Ahhhh!!! I hope it's amazing!

Aww, thank you! I like those pictures too!

What a fun memory of Mexican Donald! I love little moments like that. He's the best!

Hahha yeah, I tend to call people that a lot when they're acting a certain way. I can't even help it! I'm glad you thought it was funny!

That's great! Let me know when you do start, and happy New Year!

Ohhh Mexican Donald! I just love that little guy... but I still need to meet him! Donald is one of Matt's favorites, so I told him this trip we are going to hunt down Donald and get a photo with him.. Mexican Donald is where it's at though!

Mexican Donald is definitely the best. Yall should be on the lookout for him! He's great.

Hahaha yeah, and this was August. It was our fifth day at that point, so I guess he was a little burnt out. It was okay, he and my dad had some fun guy time back at the resort doing some fun stuff!

Yeah, I agree! I mean, I've seen the movie now, so I guess I've done most of what there is to do... but I still feel like I haven't somehow! Hahah, I'm weird.

It is random. Plus, there is an entire section of Animal Kingdom devoted to Africa. I'm still holding out hope for a Switzerland pavilion! I think that would be AMAZING!!!

AHHH hello!!! Welcome! I'm so glad you joined in!

Hahha thank you! I'm happy to hear you're enjoying it!

YES!!! Oh my goodness, I've been watching Full House (literally) my entire life, and it's still one of my favorite shows! I honestly can't think of the Grand Floridian without thinking of Full House! So basically, great minds think alike! I'm glad you liked that! Hahah.

Thank you so much for joining in!

Hi Marissa!!! I am so excited to have found your tr!! I've spent the entire weekend reading ---- ok, fine. Hello! Wow, another new reader, how exciting! I'm so glad you found my TR! Hahaha, don't worry, I've done that before with other people's TR's! They can be so addicting sometimes! I think it's a huge compliment when people can see themselves in me, so thank you! I agree, we're definitely special! Disney people are special!

Thank you! Hahha well, we do argue occasionally. I suppose everyone does, but we avoided any major meltdowns on this trip, thankfully! Aww thank you. Yeah, Jacob is definitely a sweetheart and a total Disney nut like me! It's great! I definitely think he was a little shy with the pretty princesses. :goodvibes

You're too sweet, thank you for the compliments! I'm glad you joined in, and I hope that I'll be able to have a new update up for yall soon! It's been a little crazy lately!

To hoping 2013 is a wonderful year and brings many more magical moments (and Disney trips)!

Thank you, Timmy! I hope your 2013 is wonderful too... and I hope you finally get to go back to Disney!

Christmas Is the Best and the Rest... Well...

Real Life Update

Hey, yall! Happy 2013!

I hope everyone has been well! I feel pretty bad about how slowly this TR is progressing lately! Admittedly, I may be doing it on purpose so it will last longer, but I still feel bad. Unfortunately I won't be able to post another update QUITE yet. I recently got my hands on some pictures that I was missing, and I'll be able to add them to the TR! HOWEVER, when I say that I got my hands on them, I mean that literally. They're actual photos that my sister already had developed, which means that I need to scan and upload them. That's easier said than done, considering right now my printer/scanner is being a butt and refusing to do its job. Sigh. So for now, the next update will still have to wait. Hopefully it won't be too long now. The good news is that since it was the holiday season, most people are behind on the DIS anyway!

SPEAKING OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON...

I figured I'd show you a few pictures of our Christmas!!!!

Here is our tree on Christmas morning! The pictures are dark for a reason. I don't like using flash because all of our 'Santa' presents (yes, we totally still do that) are wrapped in silver. Silver tends to cause a GLARE when you use flash, so I never do it. I apologize for the darkness, but you get the idea! Haha.

SDC13908.jpg

SDC13907.jpg

Here are our stockings!

SDC13911.jpg

(Looks like Santa ran out of room in my mom's stocking. BAHAHA.)

I gave Jacob a fabulous gift, if I do say so myself. I got him WALTER!!!!

SDC13928.jpg

Yes, THAT Walter. He's a Manly Muppet, that Walter.

SDC13868.jpg

Jacob loves it!!!

Speaking of fabulous gifts, I got some of those myself!

I hit the Vera Bradley jackpot.

SDC13949.jpg

Seriously, that duffel. HUGE. Don't worry, my mom assured me that she got it on sale!

I asked for the Delicious Disney cookbook, which I got! I also got a few more surprises...

SDC13947.jpg

Mickey measuring cups and spoons, and a Mickey rolling pin. How precious can it get?

It seems like Jacob and I were on the same wavelength, because he got me...

SDC13946.jpg

MINNIE MOUSE!!! I was so excited! (24? Just a number.) My mom said that was the only thing he wanted to get me. The preciousness continues.

I think by now, yall are well aware that I have a little bit of an obsession with the TV show FRIENDS. (If you didn't know, all of my TR titles are 'The One Blah Blah Blah' because of the fact that each Friends episode is 'The One Blah Blah Blah' as well.) It's my favorite TV show ever. I have all 10 seasons on DVD and I honestly watch it every night before I fall asleep. My sister is a Friends fanatic too, and so I got a few Friends-related gifts from her. (Her gift came in three parts, just remember that.)

Part 1:

SDC13941.jpg

A Smelly Cat magnet. Genius. I mean, just genius. (If you don't know the wonder that is Smelly Cat, please look it up on you tube immediately. You will not be sorry!!!) Oh, and please excuse my poor thumbnail, this was taken a few days ago because my original picture from Christmas was super blurry, and my nail polish chipped. As if that wasn't obvious. HAHA.

Part 2:

SDC13929.jpg

A CENTRAL PERK MUG!!!!!!!! I about died when I saw this. If you watch Friends, you know that Central Perk is the coffee shop that they hang out in during every episode. (Central Perk is a play on Central Park, since the show is set in New York. One of the reasons this show is so brilliant.) I am addicted to coffee and I have a large collection of coffee mugs, so this was PERFECT.

Oh, and...

Part 3: (Not Friends related.)

SDC13931.jpg

What's this? A ticket to the tour of MARY POPPINS that is coming to my city next month? YES!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH omg. OMG. Yall. I have always been a huge fan of musicals/Broadway plays, but I've never, ever been able to see one. Couple that with the fact that Mary Poppins is one of my lifelong favorite movies, and you have one excited Marissa. Seriously, I almost cried. I am SO excited!!!!!!! My sister is awesome!

Finally, the other night, my brother and I went to my sister's town to spend the night while her roommate was (and still is) out of town on a cruise. We went to this drive-through light show, which was really cool! (It was no Osborne Lights, but I still enjoyed it.) I took a few pictures that I thought I'd share! I was in the backseat, so my view wasn't as great as it could have been, but the pictures are still pretty good.

SDC13956.jpg

This was a lot cooler looking in person. It looks like a spiderweb but I promise it was so cool to drive under!

SDC13978.jpg

SDC13990.jpg

SDC13985.jpg

You know I had to take a picture of the castle. Duh. ;)

So yeah! I took a lot more pictures than that, but I didn't want to bore yall silly!

And... there you have it! Just a couple highlights of our Christmas.

Christmas is BY FAR my favorite holiday/day of the year. December is my favorite month. Certain Christmas songs are some of my favorite songs. You see where I'm going with this? I enjoy Christmas.

I enjoy Christmas SO much, in fact, that when it's over I get super depressed and take my depression out on lame old New Year's. I'm basically what you would call a New Year Scrooge. :rotfl: Seriously, I don't enjoy it, never have.

Therefore, to make myself feel better, I'm listening to the Wreck-it Ralph soundtrack. Have I mentioned my obsession with that movie? Oh, I haven't? Well, about a month (or more) ago, I changed my DIS avatar to a WIR picture, I listen to the soundtrack OFTEN, and I seriously saw that thing three times in the theaters. Yup. I just LOVE it. One of the things I'm looking forward to most about my next Disney trip (whenever that may be) is meeting Ralph and Vanellope at DHS!!!! And I'm basically dying for the DVD to come out so I can watch it all the time. It's seriously become one of my favorite Disney movies, right up there with The Little Mermaid, Tangled, Mary Poppins, 101 Dalmatians, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. So you know I mean business.

Despite my New Year's Scrooge-iness, I'm looking forward to seeing where 2013 takes me. I hope it means Disney trips for me and ALL of you beautiful people!

Before I go, one last thing: I got an instagram account the other day! If any of you lovely DISers has one, I would love to follow you! If you follow me, I will follow you back! My username is mardgreen88. And, as usual, I'm still on twitter at mardgreen88, too. (I have such great different usernames, don't I? Hahaha. At least it's easy to remember.) So yeah!

Thank you so much once again for reading my TR. A very belated Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year (BAH) to you all! pixiedust:

Continued in Next RL Update

O to the MG I just finished reading all of your updates so far! I mean, I am a fast reader, but it was still a lot..but your TR is so fun that I just devoured it :)

I have to tell you 2 things. 1- your family picture with Belle from Akershus is so nice! I love how Belle & Jacob have their arms linked...too cute :lovestruc

2- I received the same measuring cups/spoons sets for Christmas!

And I have to ask you 1 question - Do you know where the rolling pin came from? It's so cute, I want it!

Looks like y'all had a really nice Christmas! You got some great gifts from your family. You'll have to tell me how you like your Disney cookbook - I could possibly use one of those. And I love those measuring cups! I always say I'm going to buy them but never do because I already have so many sets.

The Christmas lights look really pretty! I really enjoy looking at Christmas light displays. And don't feel bad - I don't like New Year's either. :rotfl:

We have that Walter too! And Mary poppins is coming here too. I think I want to go. Gabbie actually saw it on broadway!

Looks like a great Christmas Marissa! Thanks for sharing!

The cookbook looks awesome, let me know how you like it.

How great that you get to see Mary Poppins! Will you and your sister make it a girls' night? Sounds like a perfect Christmas gift.

And for the record, I hate New Years too. Especially New Years Eve. Cant' stand it. :rotfl:

Ugh, I'm right here with you with being behind on the Dis. At this rate, my 6-day TR is going to take years to complete! :rotfl:

Looks like you guys had a great Christmas!!! Love that you got Jacob that very very manly Muppet, Walter!! :thumbsup2

Yay for Veras and Mary Poppins too!!! How exciting!!! :goodvibes

I don't know anything about Friends, except that it was wildly popular and has a continued following.

Yay for Mary Poppins! We saw it in Atlanta. You will enjoy it.

After Christmas and New Year celebrations, I am all for just fast-forwarding through January and February. ::yes::

I hope the wish for 'Disney trips for all' comes true! :dance3:

Yay sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas and holiday season! :goodvibes

My family still does "Santa" gifts, as well! Glad we're not the only adults doing that. :rotfl:

Oh my gosh!!!!!! Your smelly cat magnet is unbelievable! I didn't even know they made those! That's just pure amazingness.

You're going to love Mary Poppins on stage. Live shows are so hard to describe; they just suck you in and you are so focused on the story and the music that you barely notice when things like intermission arrive. That was a really great gift! :goodvibes

I have to say, you had me feeling a little guilty right there at the end of your post. I never realized how good Wreck It Ralph was. My best friend told me it was much better than she expected, but I was still hesitant and never saw it in theaters. Now, after reading how much you love the soundtrack and want to meet the characters, I will definitely have to rent it on DVD.

Looks like you had an awesome Christmas! I know I already saw all of your presents on Instagram, but I love your Veras and your Friends stuff, yay!!

I'm so glad New Year's is over...I'll be happy when it's February and I'm getting ready for Disney, and then again when it's like April and getting a little warm! I miss Christmas already! :(

My DD LOVES Wreck it Ralph. We have seen it twice. She has a Vanellope doll and has Vanellope photos all over her room. And she is obsessed with game Sugar Rush. She is so pumped to meet them in January.

Yay! I'm so glad you got caught up! Thank you so much!

Aww, thank you! I really love that picture, too! That was such a fun meal. Jacob was getting a kick out of being the prince for all of the princesses!

Did you really? TOO funny! Ya know, I unfortunately don't know! I assume that my mom bought it all on disneystore.com but I'm not entirely certain. Isn't it cute?

We did! It was a great Christmas. Oh, I definitely will! I've skimmed through the recipes, but I haven't made anything yet. I need to do that soon! Aren't they adorable? I love them! They're so fun.

They were! Not like the Osborne Lights, but I can't complain. :rotfl: Hahah glad I'm not the only one!

We have that Walter too! And Mary poppins is coming here too. I think I want to go. Gabbie actually saw it on broadway!

Yeah, I mean I guess it's going to a lot of different cities since it's the tour! I'm so glad I don't have to go to NY to see it! Hahah.

Looks like a great Christmas Marissa! Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!

I will, I'm excited to use it! The bread pudding from 'Ohana is one of the recipes in it... :cool1:

Yeah, we definitely will! I'm SO excited!

Oh man, I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I didn't even bother watching the ball drop this year. I just didn't even care. :confused3 :rotfl:

Ugh, I'm right here with you with being behind on the Dis. At this rate, my 6-day TR is going to take years to complete! :rotfl:

Haha aww, well I don't think anyone could blame you-you're planning a wedding!!! You have a very good excuse!

Hahha yes! The Walter is just perfect! He looks EXACTLY like the 'real' guy.

Yes yes! It's all so exciting! Hahah.

I don't know anything about Friends, except that it was wildly popular and has a continued following.

Well, I can tell you this: it's HILARIOUS. Ahh, I just love it!

That's awesome! I'm so excited to see it.

Oh, me too! Ugh. January is the longest month EVER, and February is basically just a continuation of January. It's just so unnecessary.

Me too! :thumbsup2

Yay sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas and holiday season! :goodvibes

My family still does "Santa" gifts, as well! Glad we're not the only adults doing that. :rotfl:

I really did! Thanks!

Hahha, you're never too old for tradition!!! It's just too fun! It wouldn't be Christmas without it!

Isn't it?!?! I cracked up when I saw that!

They do! I guess I should clarify: I've seen plays/musicals before, even been in some, but I've never seen a real Broadway show. So I'm SUPER excited!!! And I don't even have to go to Broadway to see it, which is even better! :rotfl:

Oh my gosh... you must see Wreck it Ralph! MUST!!! I'm with your friend. I knew I'd enjoy it, and I basically ALWAYS see Disney/Pixar movies in theaters. But I honestly thought that Vanellope would be super obnoxious, and since I've never played a real video game in my life, I figured I wouldn't get into it... but DANG I was wrong. I'm totally in love with it. All the main characters are so well done and lovable and it's just wonderful. It's seriously amazing and I wish I could watch it right now! So basically... you watch that movie ASAP! :lmao:

Looks like you had an awesome Christmas! I know I already saw all of your presents on Instagram, but I love your Veras and your Friends stuff, yay!!

I'm so glad New Year's is over...I'll be happy when it's February and I'm getting ready for Disney, and then again when it's like April and getting a little warm! I miss Christmas already! :(

Hahaha yeah sorry, I guess a lot of that was a repeat viewing for you! But yay!

I miss it already, too! I feel like January has already been going on forever, it's ridicuous! Ahhhh I wanna go to Disney!

My DD LOVES Wreck it Ralph. We have seen it twice. She has a Vanellope doll and has Vanellope photos all over her room. And she is obsessed with game Sugar Rush. She is so pumped to meet them in January.

It's such a wonderful movie. I'm honestly obsessed, and I don't even play video games... never have!
