Oh, Great, Mom's on her Disney kick again - 1st time ptr

So my last post was complaining about my lousy day/week last week. I went home that day, my son's 9th b-day, and later that evening my dog died. His name was Bandit, my hubby got him for me for valentines day when my son was only a few weeks old. He was only 9, I watched him go. I will spare you the details, it wasn't gross, just heart wrenching. Thankfully none of the kids saw it, but when we told them they were devastated. We had gotten our MIckey Mail that day too, but until last night I just didn't even care to open it. The kids are all doing much better, but I am still grieving, never thought I'd feel this terrible when a pet died. I am showering my other dog with lots of attention, she's coping ok, not eating a ton and looks confused sometimes. If I think about it I'll post some pics of him on here tonight. I also have a few disney updates I will post those tomorrow when hopefully my spirits are a little up.:sad1:

I am so sorry for your loss...you have lost a precious family member and it will take some time to grieve. I understand how happy you were about the Mickey Mail only to have the pixie dust blown away with your loss. Take the time you need...take care of yourself. :grouphug:

I am so sorry for your loss.  We have a 9yo lab who is starting to slow down and developing some health problems, and I tear up just thinking about losing her. They might be "just animals" but they're still a part of the family.

I am so sorry to hear you lost your furbaby! It is such a sad time to have to say goodbye to someone who is so trusting and loving.

Hi there! I just read your entire PTR and was about to comment on how excited I am for you guys and your upcoming trip...then I read about your Bandit. :sad1: I'm so sorry! Losing a pet, a member of your family, is so hard. Here's hoping to all of you guys feeling better! :grouphug:
~Amanda

P.S. I'm really excited for your upcoming trip! You guys deserve it! :thumbsup2

Oh my! I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family, so sad.

Hi, sorry I've been MIA lately, things have been a little crazy. But, I'm all caught up and I wanted to start by saying, I am so sorry about Bandit. I'm sending you and your family lots of pixie dust.

I'm BACK!!!!! So sorry I have been missing it's been a rough 2 weeks. With the loss of our furfamily member Bandit, then my pup that my parent's have cared for since I couldn't take her when I moved out was put down exactly one week after Bandit passed away. Plus with hubby's car, and I have been working massive overtime, with no time to breath at work. I am normally on the internet at least 1 hour out of my day at work and lately I barely have 2 minutes to check my email plus I've been working from home. I have never been so ready for a vacation!!!!!!

Onto much more exciting things. 8 DAYS TIL WE LEAVE, and 10 DAYS til we arrive in DISNEY :cool1::banana::cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

So this past weekend we went shopping and bought a bunch of stuff we needed. We still have TONS to get and TONS to do. Dan's been working hard to get the van ready for the long drive. However we have a damper in that, we are set to get hit by a HUGE snow storm tonight. We could see 20 inches of snow :scared1: Praying this is getting out of it's system and next week is calm.

The kids are getting soooo excited, they still have no idea on the dates, they have them narrowed down though cuz their smart. The figured we are leaving somewhere between the 7th and the 16th. Too funny.

We did make hotel ressies for a nondisney hotel for Thursday night and then we'll check into POR early on Friday morning. We also decided not to stay the extra night til Saturday and hit the road that Friday night for a few hours to get a headstart on getting to my brother's in North Carolina.

I missed you all SOOOOO much.

I was getting worried about you!!! Glad you are back..but I am so sorry for everything that you guys have been through!!!:flower3:
But, the good news is you are doing the single digit dance....

:dancer::dancer::dancer::dancer::dancer:

It doesn't matter that you won't be at disney technically for 10 days...it's when your vacation starts that matters!!!! Good luck getting all the last minute details together!!! Keep us posted!!

That snow is coming our way too, but we are looking at more like 10 inches.

I hope you didn't get hit with too much snow (or ice)! And here's a single digit dance for 9 days till Disney!! :cool1::cool1::banana::yay::yay: I bet you are getting so excited and it sounds like you really need the vacation right now so that'll make it even better!

That snow was insane. We got about 18 inches, possibly as much as 20. We had 3ft drifts in our driveway and 4ft up the side of our garage. INSANE  Took Dan and I about 4 hours to clear our driveway, thankfully my dad left his snowblower at our house from a few weeks ago or we'd still be digging.

I did make it to work about 2pm today. Figured since hubby and I work at the same place I can't say I'm snowed in if he goes to work. ;) So here I am with no motivation to work because I am about the only person here in the offices. Production is pretty full though so I go visit out there to keep my sanity. Work is slowing down and I am so thankful for that. I want to be on top of things before we go so I can confidently pass on my job to others without worrying something will be missed.

I can't believe we leave 1 week from today. Funny thing I was watching the weather and they are talking about an ultra arctic blast coming in midweek next week. Not snow just frigid temps. Ha we'll be on our way out of here.:yay: I have so much to do, I am sure I will start losing sleep soon over it too, I always do. The weather set us back a day on car repairs and shopping for necessities. This weekend we have a family get together as well that will take up a good chunk of our time. I promise I wont freak out until Sunday;)

Another thing I am getting a little nervous about is that we were really depending on our tax refund for spending money and such. Well it's been pushed back, we were suppose to recieve it last Friday and now they are saying by the 8th, which is 1 day before we leave.:scared1: Freaked out there. We have enough for gas and that but nothing for spending and that's no fun.

Thanks for sticking with me even though I've been missing so much. I hope you all will be there for the trip report as well when we get back:hug:

I'm sorry about Bandit, Tav! I've been mostly lurking while I'm work where my computer's firewall doesn't always let me see pictures or post replies so sorry I'm a bit behind!

Hugs to you and your family!

Just read your whole PTR and I'm so sorry to hear about Bandit. I realize I'm coming in at the end of things but I'm looking forward to reading your TR when you return, if you write one.

I'm in MI too and it took me forever to dig out of my driveway today.

The snow wasn't too bad here in Niagara Falls..I think you guys got a lot off the lake? It took us an hour with the snowblower..so not too bad:thumbsup2 I hear you on the money dept!! We are hoping for our tax refund too..here in Canada we are a month behind with the paperwork and filing dates. We won't see our tax forms until the end of Feb. And we leave on March 3rd! Luckily there won't be any hold on the payment from the gov't though, and we signed up for direct deposit so we may actually see the money in our acct when we leave!! We plan to use the line of credit and pay it off right away if the timing is off..do you have anything like that you can use and just pay off when the tax money arrives?

Good luck with your nerves..I always get them before we leave too!! It's almost like I'm not happy about the trip, even though I know I am? It's weird, but then the night before I can't sleep from all the anticipation!!!

Are you doing direct deposit? If so, then you may get it while you are gone and still have access to it. Not the ideal thing, but at least it's better late than never. LOL!
I had heard the refunds were delayed this year for some reason.

That's ok I understand. Thanks for the support though, it was hard. The kids are fine now, I am still struggling a little. The good side is our other pup Morgan is really getting loved on a lot more than ever before.

I plan to do a trip report, I am super excited about that part of it. I just hope I don't overwhelm anyone with pics. I take sooo many. Thanks for joining even if it's at the tail end. Where about in MI are you? We are between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo.

Yeah we got dumped on, it circulated, it wasn't lake effect this time around, it could have been worse.

The nerves drive me crazy, I am getting so worked up about the drive, and packing. I freak that I will forget something important, or that we wont be able to fit everything in our van. We've never taken the kids on more than a 4hr drive anywhere, so I am freakin about that too.

Very true, we did do direct deposit and it could come while we are gone, but it's just the comfort in knowing before hand.

This is my 6 day dance. :cool1::cool1::banana::cool1::banana: I have done NOTHING at all. Zip, zilch, nada. Got home late last night, put kids to bed, ate some dinner and crashed. My goal is to kick some butt tomorrow night and Saturday evening. Finishing up on Sunday but we shall see. I really want the kids to help do a 'trial pack' mainly because I want to see what all my 11yr old plans on bringing with her. I pack for everyone else. Although I suppose, hmmmm? Ok so our plan is to leave as soon as the boys get home from school on Wednesday at 4pm. mackenzie gets home at 3, I could always tell her when she gets home that were leaving in 1 hour, and she can pack her own stuff? She's not the one that wanted it to be a big secret anyway, she's wanted to know but I can't tell her because she'll leak. So 1 hour when the other aren't home wont hurt right? Then she can help and her and I can get all giddy and annoying together with nobody else around to give us crazy loooks :rotfl:

I am getting nervous about sickies though. Everyone around me at work is hacking and coughing. Just what I need. I can handle being sick, I would take meds for it and deal. but when kids are sick not even Mickey can help.
