just what am I in for exactly?

also, anyone recall what merchandise they sold and $$??

I did gift DH with a ticket as well, so we both have to endure it....:thumbsup2

my oldest got a t-shirt for $30:scared1:

I have been told by parents who have gone that the concerts are great.

How well do you tolerate high-pitched screaming? I hope it's not a problem because THAT'S what you are in for in droves. The screaming will begin well before the show whenever a Jo Bro appears on the video screen, whenever a roadie who could be mistaken for a Jo Bro in a satellite photo happens to walk out onto the stage, etc. And then it will hit you at a volume level hitherto unknow in these parts (but destined to take the place of the Mud Shark in your mythology).

Have fun!

A tone of screaming girls, I think it took 5 hours for my ears to stop ringing.

My DD got a t-shirt that cost $40. This was for the kids t-shirt, the adult prices were even more. They also had posters, pins, programs, bags, light up sticks, etc. The only thing they didn't have was copies of their CDs. This surprised me because every other concert I have gone to in the past sold CDs.

We did Demi Lovato a couple of weeks ago. I wore ear plugs. I HIGHLY recommend them. I even brougth spares and my girls ended up wearing them.

I have tinitus--but the ear plugs did their job and I didn't have any "extra" ringing in my ears.

Both of my daughters bought really nice adult sized shirts in Detroit for $35. One is black and one is light blue

Demi Lovato opened for the Jo Bros when we saw them. There is no comparison in terms of the intensity of the screaming.

Only 5 hours? Mine rang for 4 days after the concert.

I will give you the same advice that I gave my BFF when she took her girls to see them... wear ear plugs. It wasn't so much needed for the volume of the music, but for the screaming. There were songs I couldn't even hear because of the screaming. I couldn't tell you with what song they opened because of that.

First thing you do is buy ear plugs! They worked GREAT!! I took them out at one point to talk to my daughter and couldn't wait to put them right back in!!!
T-shirts were 40.00 and they had crappy little light things for 10.00 (we went through 3 of them being returned before she got one that would work for more than 5 minutes!)
We went early and were glad- they had things to do outside the arena- the Jonas Brothers bus to sign- the recording studio bus to tour. You could take pictures with a green screen and go home and download and print it and it will be your kid with the Jonas Brothers.
Our show ended about 10:45-some really really loud group opened for them, then Jordan Sparks who was really good,...then some chinese girl group that was terrible then finally the Jonas Brothers.

Well...I'm a 45 year old mom, and I LOVE those boys! :lovestruc Our show is one week from tomorrow, and honestly, I'm as excited about it as the teen aged girls are. :rotfl: The screams are INTENSE, but the show is AWESOME. We saw Demi in June, and while there was screaming, it is NOTHING compared to JB! I could, however, hear everything and understand all the songs (of course, that could be because I am "forced" to listen to it 24/7!) The girls are getting their mini posters ready this weekend and making plans for the car paint. We haven't seen them in almost a year, so It's About Time we saw them again. (Okay, that little reference is only for the seriously devoted JB fans! ;))

The opening band is Honor Society. They are the first group to sign with JB's new label: Jonas Records. I have heard repeatedly, though, that they are REALLY, REALLY loud. I think I may have to have the ear plugs for that. The Wonder Girls (Wonder Woman..whatever) is a Korean group that apparently only sings two songs. Again, from what I hear, two is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more than enough. That might be a GREAT time to stretch your legs a bit. Can't WAIT for Jordin, though! (Yeah, yeah, I know...I'm pitiful. LOL!)

well it is tonight!! Jordin Sparks and Honor Society opens...if it starts at 7pm, what time do you think JB will actually be on? Not sure we will make it to Tampa by 7pm....!!

The girls are getting $50 each to spend, I figure that will get a tshirt and one other small thing.

I took my daughter to see them in July. If I remember correctly, they came on around 8:30ish.

As for merchandise this is all I remember: tshirt $35, lanyard $10, poster $10, overpriced glow stick $10

luckily I have glow sticks!!

Have a great time! And honestly, buy the ear plugs, you won't regret it! I bought the squishy kind at CVS.

Also, I don't know if your daughter plans on making a poster but at the entrance where they scanned your ticket, the venue employees were making the girls throw their posters in the trash. There were large barrels for the posters. They wouldn't let them bring them inside no matter how much they begged. However, once we were in our seats, I did see some posters.

I went in July with my dd and a couple of friends. We all wore earplugs, to block out the screaming girls. We had a blast, it was a great show!! The girls all bought adult size t-shirts, $35 each. They have cool light up sticks, but we passed on those, they were $10 each.

I too think they came on about 8:30, our show also started at 7. They played until 10:15. Honor Society is first, so if you miss them, I really don't think you are missing much. I do love Jordin Sparks though, so I would not want to miss her.

DH took DD and friend to the show last year. They were in the 7th row right on the catwalk. DH bought his earplugs there after 15 minutes of screaming girls. By the end of the night DH had been moved to the end of the row as each girl asked him if they could move toward the catwalk. He did give the guys credit for putting on a very good show.

DD has tix for the show next week. Thank goodness that she is 15 and I feel ok dropping her and friends off at the venue and picking them up. (Although, I think I would like to see Jordin Sparks and the boys.)

Have fun and enjoy!!!

I'll be there, too! I'm another 45 year old mom who is looking forward to the concert.:thumbsup2

Do they have support groups for people like me??

We're actually leaving in an hour or so - it's a 2 1/2 hour drive and I'm counting on rush hour traffic. We'll probably be hanging around Tampa for a couple of hours, but that's OK.

oh cool...where are you driving from? I just bought a parking pass...hopefully concessions are open during the show.

Also are video cameras allowed?

I'm driving from Volusia County, near Daytona Beach.

Also, my ticket says that video or audio recording is not allowed, although according to dd, there are a lot of videos of their concerts on youtube.

See you tonight!
