Oh. Dear Lord, Boma's

I am ashamed to admit the last trip was our first time to Boma's. It was so good it would be worth the trip to WDW world alone.

Yes, I admit, I am a chowhound.

I would be willing to spare a couple of hours of park time to eat this well. Everything, and I mean everything, was so well prepared, tasty, and just darn good that I will again, brave the Disney Transportation to get to the AKL.

I'm not sure V&A could do as well in a category as Boma's. From the Lamb's Pie and watermelon salad, with the crispy flatbread and all the Hummus combinations.

Nevermind. It sucked.

We also just ate at Boma for the first time last week after many visits to WDW. We had the breakfast, which was excellent. The Frunch is out of this world......I asked Albert, our waiter, for the recipe. He took my email address and the next day I had an email from AKL Culinary Dept. with the recipe for Frunch! Now my only problem is how to find mango juice concentrate and pineapple juice concentrate in NE Pennsylvania in the middle of winter!!!!!

Boma's is a must do for us every time we go. In fact, when one of us is trying to talk the other into a quick Disney trip, usually our secret weapon is by saying, "Imagine sitting in Boma's eating all that sirloin steak, and prime rib dipped in the tamarind BBQ sauce and the sweet and hot mustard!"

Yummy! Going back in about 3 weeks for 2 weeks! Can't wait

I feel so sorry for people who won't try something because it "sounds gross" or looks different. Boma is wonderful and I can't wait to go back on Jan. 30 for dinner and Feb. 4 for breakfast. Actually I just can't wait to get back to Disney.

We leave tomorrow evening for FL and we are having dinner at Boma for Christmas. My DS11, DS7, and i went for the first time in April, we are looking forward to enjoying it again with DH for Christmas! I loved the soups and the zebra domes.

We are going to eat at Boma for breakfast one day in June. I hope it is as good as everyone says it is.

I know some people hate it, but it's our families favorite for breakfast and dinner. We go at least once for breakfast and once for dinner everytime we go to Disney, which is a few times a year because we're FLA residents. I love the soups, dessert, hummus and bobotie to name for a few.

I don't recommend going out of your way to get there just for breakfast. It's a pain to get there and the breakfast did not have that many 'unusual' items. It's the same breakfast (save for a few items) that you can get at any other resort. We had horrible service too.

Dinner is much better.

Then my step-daughter would make you weep.

Her father and I have gotten so tired of her deciding that she doesn't want to try something based off of its looks, that we've started making her take a bite and then and only then can she decide that she doesn't want it.

You'd be shocked at some of her favorite foods now! For a child who's mother lets her live off of chicken nuggets and french fries, she stays at our house and craves Chicken Parmesan, carrots, broccoli and steak!

Of course, I can't do that at a buffet, and we are going to Boma, so we'll see how well it all goes.

I would agree with this if you do not have a car. Since we always drive and because we are frequent visitors its not a big deal for us to go out of the way for breakfast. We also like Crystal Palace breakfast just as much, but Boma serves later and we're not morning people.

BTW, we had excellent service for Breakfast when we went on Thanksgiving morning. (We had a late, huge breakfast and the snacked around Epcot for dinner)

Thanks for the heads up, but we are staying at the AKL, so it won't be far for us I thought about trying them for dinner, but we can be a picky group and are much bigger breakfast eaters.

All I can say is that I ate soooooooooo much on my first visit there at 10am that I didn't consume anything else to eat for the rest of the day...

I had to losen the belt and almost un-notch the button of the pants.

You do need reservations. I had no trouble making mine last week, for this March. We're going there after our AK day, for dinner. I made the ADR's early enough so that we could enjoy a little of the lodge afterwards.

Yes, to the first two questions and Boma makes a lovely end for a day spent at the AK. There are not shows, but you can go outside and look at animals through night goggles and they often have people from South Africa giving talks about the culture.
