Could we all say an extra pray for the Canadian Navy ship that is now going over to help in Somalia. My nephew is on that ship and we are soo proud of him.

Not sure what to say as I have never had anyone in the military. I can say we are very very proud of him.

Thanks Isabell

well as a fellow army guy, the best way to cheer him up is by sending him email and snail mail. just the fact of receiving some news from home keeps the regular routine from being boring.

btw army is better then navy.

I'll pray with you...my BIL is on that ship as well. It was his first deployment in 4 years and his wife is devastated.

You must be so proud. I'll keep your nephew and the others who serve to protect in my thoughts and prayers. God speed.

Consider the ship's company in my prayers.
My Daughter is in medical school and is being put through by the Navy and can't wait till she can (hopefully) be posted on-board a ship. Her Father, my late Husband was a Naval officer and I am a ex Navy nurse. By the way yanjan, everyone has their own ideas but remember Navy is senior service!!:thumbsup2 I know, I know , don't start anything especially on the 'happy boards' but you started it:laughing:
Have a great and safe day and remember to thank a Veteran for it!!

ha ha point well taken Wendy

i only got 4 years to go then going back to school to finish my BAA then re-enrolling to go naval officer as well.

my brother is a air force nurse right now

Well, Well, Yanjan..glad to know you're finally getting it right:rotfl2:
Where are you based? By the way do you know of a place I can find a list of people overseas who are looking for penpals. I know you can send a general email but I wouldn't mind writing to someone who really would like mail from Canada. At the moment I am recouperating from ankle surgery and will be off work for quite a while and only back part time. I used to enjoy writing my Husband when he was at sea and I wouldn't mind a military penpal to write :surfweb: to, any age or sex....and yes, even Army:rolleyes1
Thanks
Wendy

I can't say I know what you're going through cause I don't but I will say a prayer for his safe return!

My prayers are with you and your family. May he return safely.

You all have our prayers as well.

Yeah, being able to email or mailing a solider would be great. I emailed my nephew telling him how proud we are and of all the men and women protecting our country and doing the good work that they do.

im presently based in gagetown.

hey you can write to me in sept 09 that's when im slated to go to afgan.

as far as penpals the best place to check is a MFRC center at a base near you or even online.

FCS TECH NOW EO TECH
(used to be called fire control tech but got changed to eletrical-optical tech cause the first one was to confusing to recruiters. i guess the second one really narows it down:lmao: )

My prayers are for all the brave men and women in the Navy and the Military for their safe return home.

I totally agree with you Ace15... everyone that does anything for their country. How great is it that they are able to help others and/or protect their country. I am soo thankful for all these men and women.
