Hi!

We are looking to be at DisneyWorld over Spring Break '08. Our daughter turns 16 yo on Good Friday and her wish is to spend it in Disney. There will be four of us and we don't think we will be able to do resort property this time.

Does anyone know of which offsite properties have really good running shuttles back and forth to WDW if we wanted to let the kids go on their own?

What offsite property would you suggest and why? Think we would prefer 2 BR being that there are 2 adults and 2 teens.

Thanks for your help!

you want to go in one of the busiest seasons at WDW and spend it offsite.

okay - but don't come back and complain about the lines.

now if you get here
www.myresortnetwork.com
or
www.redweek.com
or
www.skyauction.com
then it is considered a timeshare not a rental and the transportation is not free.

the only place that may have what you want is Double Tree at DD.

some times you can find this hotel on
www.travelzoo.com

that say a value resort at Disney would be cheaper.

Most will tell you there are no REALLY GOOD off-site shuttles. Usually the schedules are limited and the busses stop at several offsite properties on their route, which can make it a long ride to WDW and especially a long ride back in the pm. Even on-site the WDW busses aren't the most convenient thing in the world especially to the value resorts during peak seasons.

From my experience, staying off-site without a rental car will not prove to be a fun experience.

Agreed. The exceptions are the DTD resorts (not as good as Disney, but not too bad). In your specific situation, would you feel comfortable letting your daughter take a cab by herself? I'd imagine that if you have one car, you can probably get by with "not very many" extra cab fares.

That said, two value rooms with a AAA discount are going to be less than $250 per night. A Cabin at Ft. Wilderness will be similarly priced

Ouch! I immediately thought of Dorothy when she yells at the Wizard for scaring the lion "Shame on you, frightening him like that when he came to you for help!
