Hello again,

I really like the idea of the DoubleTree because it would accommodate my fam of 5 and the kitchennete would come in handy, location ideal? What do you think? I know I could get better deals but... help!

You may also want to look at the Grosvenor it is the closest hotel to DTD and is usually running room rate specials.

Hi Langin. We spent 2 nights at Holiday Inn Family Suites (HIFS) in November 2000. It was fairly new then and in good shape. The family suites were great. The parents get a king sized bed with a proper door on their room. There's also a small bunk room with a curtained door that has 2 bunks and a fold out bed. In addition there's a fold out sofa in the living room area. The room doesn't have a full kichen, but the small fridge, sink, and microwave are just fine for snacks or simple meals. An all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast is included in the price, and kids eat for free at the hotel with their parents. You'll find lots of references to HIFS on the "Orlando Hotels and Attractions" board. It's a very close commute to WDW - you're on Disney property within about two minutes of leaving the hotel. The "commute" in no way compares with being on International Drive - you're actually closer to some of the WDW attractions than many of the Disney guests. A friend who is going in December will be paying just over $100 USD per night.

By the way - welcome to the DIS!
