Staying offsite, going only to Disney Springs and Epcot. Should I still rent a ECV from offsite, can it go in a Uber? Or should I just take a chance and rent from Disney. Where do you rent them from at Disney Springs?Any suggestions would be great.

Hi, connie1042.

When you mention,
Or should I just take a chance and rent from Disney.
, do you mean rent at the parks or DS only?

Over a decade ago, I bought my own mobility scooter to take apart and place in my car's trunk. That worked great until I got older and I was no longer able to lift the heaviest piece which was the rear wheels and connected motor. I also found it challenging to take apart and put back together the mobility scooter when leaving the hotel then returning to the hotel and any other extra stops. I didn't have anyone to help me.

That being said a lot of vendors make lighter weight mobility scooters than the one I bought over a decade ago. Some of these mobility scooters allow you to just remove the battery or batteries to take back to the room and recharge. But most mobility scooters have the charger port on the tiller which might negate that.

I never tried leaving my mobility scooter in the car and charging it with the adapter that fit in the car lighter. Quite frankly, I think doing these required leaving the car keys in the AUX mode which I wouldn't do. So forget that unless in the long term when you purchase your own mobility device you have a special outlet installed in your car to allow charging from your car battery when the car is turned off and while driving.

With your other question,
Where do you rent them from at Disney Springs?
, The Disney Springs rental area is located across from the DS main bus stops #4 & # 5 in a little store called
.

Here is the WDW website with ECV locations including Disney Springs. Just go down to the bottom of the page with the map and click on the location to see the name and map location.

As far as your question,
can it go in a Uber?
, it depends on if you order the special Uber SUV or Van that has a lift or ramp for the scooter if you don't want to take it apart and put it in a regular Uber trunk, and the driver probably won't help you. When you ask this I presume you won't be using your own car.

Whatever mobility scooter vendor you go too, just let them know what you would like to do and ask for the different vendor's advice.

Ask for the weight of each mobility scooter and what is the heaviest parts to see if you can lift them yourself unless you have a lot of help.

If I were going to rent from an outside vendor, I would rent from the Gold Mobility Scooters ,LLC company. at ********************************/ Their

Thanks for the response Ray. We are renting a mini van. There are 6 of us. We are going with my sons family, a 16 and 14 year old boys. So will have plenty of help. We have plans of having a few adult beverages, so that is why we want to Uber it. We are not going until Oct, so plenty of time to figure it out.

Both Lyft and Über have WAVs - wheelchair accessible vehicles. You may well have to call ahead to request one.

Mears has WAVs as well.
