We will be arriving at WDW probably around 8 pm and will check into the Poly the following day. Looking for a not so expensive offsite hotel for 4 people that is near Magic Kingdom. We only need a place to sleep and possibly have breakfast, no interest in any other amenities. Any recommendations?

Red Lion Inn on Irlo Bronson. It's clean and cheap. No breakfast, but there's a Bob Evans and Perkins across the street and McDonalds down the street.

how cheap do you want? what is your budget? It is 4 adults or is some children?

Without a date, it's a bit difficult to provide a recommendation that meets your $100 target. Rates for non-Disney hotels can vary drastically.

For example, I'm holding a reservation at the Delta Orlando Lake Buena Vista for next week. I'm paying $87/night. With the news about Rivers of Light, I thought about moving my trip back a week. The best price for the following week: $374/night.

first there are no offsite hotels near the MK that I know of - that would be in Windermere or bay lake -otherwise the shopping malls along 535 - they do have hotels - and there is always Disney springs hotels.

now Kissimmee is where you can find the good bargins - it is closer to AK, Studio and Epcot.
