My fiance and I have been thinking long and hard about this and it just seems weird to go meet someone that you randomly pick from a list and have them perform your ceremony. We are NOT traditional people and want our wedding to be a little different and not stuffy and 'normal.' We thought it would be kind of cool to have someone we really care about (such as my fiance's father) get ordained online (IE Joey on Friends
) and perform our ceremony. It would mean SO MUCH more if it was someone who cared about us and that we knew. Would they let us do that? Is it totally insane to think about doing it? Has anyone else ever done that? Please don't think we're weird
On the other hand, we are believers in God and it would be important to have a minister (who is a man/woman of God) perform the ceremony. I don't know if it would seem more like we had God's approval (if that makes any sense.)
So we're torn
