***Officially Official September 2017 Thread***

So excited for everyone looking forward to their upcoming trips! This has been a roller coaster of a month. I agree with everyone who has said how awesome this group has been throughout all of the uncertainty. I wonder how many of you I will see on the board for next September!

I don't think I ever answered the question about what we liked best on our trip, so I will do that now! I have to say that I was proud of meeting most of my goal for the trip and riding EE and RNR for the first time! I wimped out on TOT, but will ride it in Dec with my friend and that will be even better! I LOVED RNR and I liked EE. Both will be added to the rotation for future trips.

Atlanta traffic advisory says I-75 is crawling and packed all the way south to Macon. Also advising there may be fuel shortages with everyone trying to go back home so fast.

Extended forecast for Orlando is not looking too bad

I'm with your hubby. I've seen several people mention they were rescheduling for October and January. I might have seen one person mention pushing it back one week. But, yes, for the most part I don't think people have that kind of flexibility. I am interested to see what traffic will be like, though. :drive:

I was planning on visiting some friends in Tampa on my drive back home. I'm wondering if I should rethink that.

Not only that, but availability was quite limited due to all the incentives Disney was giving. I think it will be just fine. I'm really getting excited! 7 more days for us!:rainbow:

I'm already part of the September 2018 planning thread. Come on over if you haven't already!

I'm glad you faced your fears. Overcoming two out of three is awesome! You'll get ToT and it will be your new favorite!

Just joined and now I am getting excited! I was so happy that I faced my fears. I screamed "I love this" halfway through my first ride on RNR. I think that ToT freaks me out because I already have a bit of a fear of elevators. I will definitely get past it next trip! Or least I will be able to say I tried.

Unfortunately, I won't be on any September (or any other month for that matter) boards for quite awhile. Unlike some of you apparent millionaires, this trip is a major treat for us. This is our first trip back since 2008 and we don't have plans to go back until spring of 2021 or so, after Star Wars has been open for awhile. I'm jealous of these people who go a dozen times a year. But, on the flip side, it seems like it would lose some of it's magic going that many times so close together. Anyway, this will be my last hurrah for quite awhile.

We won't be there either. We plan on going every two years so the girls both get to experience it at the same ages. First trip 2/4, the 4/6, etc.

Would be nice to be a millionaire though.....

Some people have normal average incomes but choose to be very frugal day to day so they can spend those savings on Disney. I dont work my husband does but all Disney money comes from odd and ends that I do... Couponing, surveys, babysitting, seamstress work. Husband's income pays the bills anything I make is for me to splurge on vacations. Usually I can save enough to go every couple years if I work on it. Now I am doing Travel planning and hope that will add to my "Fun Fund". I can't tell you the last movie I saw in a theater, or the last time I went out to dinner, or the last time I went to a concert or the fair or the beach. I dont spend money on those types of entertainment, I save it for Disney.

Go check out the budget board here on Dis for some great tips...

I have to imagine that most of us here, aren't in fact millionaires.

Most of us are simply enough of a Disney fan to spend any disposable income on Disney.

I know, for sure, that our family doesn't qualify as a millionaire.

My apologies for my flippant comment. It was a silly attempt to share my nerves about booking during hurricane season again. I hope your trip is amazing and that you have another trip to look forward to once Star Wars is open and (hopefully) less crazy.

Looks like I struck a nerve, which wasn't my intention at all. I was trying to be funny in a sarcastic way. Fail. Comes across much funnier in person. :badpc:
Its ok Rusty2rules text does not show emotions so it can be read wrong. Didn't mean to jump on you either. :flower3:
People always make snide comments about our Disney trips and "how ever can you afford to go so often". But they are people I know well enough to know their spending habits and I have watched them blow more money on beers after work then I spend on Disney :confused3
The budget board really is a great place of ideas on making those Disney dollars stretch. :goodvibes

That's okay.

I am sure most people are like me, a little touchy about our trips. We hear it enough from our friends, we don't expect it from our fellow Disney lovers.

Less than 1 week!

Been glued to the Irma threads lately, and trying to get some last minute dining in. What will I do with all my free time after this trip is over?

Here is DD last week dutifully putting her Mickey up on her advent calendar!

Sept 17 - 23 Boardwalk Villas 17-20, Kidani Village 21-23

See you all there!
