***Officially Official September 2017 Thread***

Baring any issues like unable to fly out on the 19th I am still coming for my solo Trip. I was also annoyed by that thread and held my tongue. Very unfair to people to go on and on about decision people make for themselves. I have been on the phone all weekend with my mom who lives in Fort Lauderdale and was riding out the storm. She was in a non evacuation area but of course I was still worried for her but she decided to stay but I didn't brow beat her I just found as much information I could for her to let her know especially when she lost power and may not know what is going on. Sometimes you have put aside your feelings to help ohh well. I pray that recover is quick so that everyone can get back to normal. I also hope Jose and Lee stay away.

Okay, lets get some excitement back on this thread!!! You have all been so great and we know we are caring people who are NOT only thinking of our trips. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, right? Soooo, tell us what you are most looking forward to on your upcoming trip and what you loved the most if you've gone and are back.

For me, I think I'm most looking forward to just being in my happy place and feeling like a kid again!! party:

How about you??? popcorn::

I am looking most forward to Pandora! Specifically FoP! We have a lot of firsts in this trip coming up. First breakfast at Tusker. First time seeing Pandora and RoL. Oddly enough first time riding Kali RR (it's always been cold) First time doing a sunset safari. FEA will be a first. We have TONS of ADR's and a few "firsts" there: Morimoto, Tusker, coral Reef, bon voyage b'fast, and we've never done chef mickeys.
We're pumped about our Be our guest, akershus and Boma as well, but those are "seconds" since we did those last trip.

Most of all I'm excited to be with my family celebrating my daughter's 8th birthday and my brother's 44th birthday. I haven't seen my brother in almost a year and he is my Disney spirit animal, lol.

Can I just say I know I'm gonna love this thread already? ❤️❤️

Most excited for MNSSHP, and staying savanna view at AKL for the first time. Need this vacation after all the stress this week now.

Funny enough, after all of our trips, I finally rode kali for the first time last year. I was always the one sitting off with everyone's stuff so it wouldn't get wet (and I didn't want to get wet). It was so hot that day, I went for it. Be prepared to get DRENCHED- don't underestimate it, a guy on our boat ruined his phone that he thought would be fine in his pocket. Also watch that elephant at the end. I thought I was in the clear as the boat was getting ready to pull back in and it literally hit me right in the head with a huge stream of water.

I am most excited to try out all the Table Service restaurants I have lined up (I've only been 2 table service restaurants at Disney 1900 Park Fare and Hollywood and Vine) and Snacking on the Food and Wine Festival menu. Riding on any ride I want because I'm not dragging my little ones with me and seeing all the shows and Parades I want because my kids usually hate to sit through them lol. Finally staying at AKL even if its for one night! Relaxing at the resort and if I have time fitting in a Massage, then celebrating my mother's 60th at Epcot!

So, I hate the idea of getting soaked. I don't have the kind of hair to look decent after a good soaking . But I'm gonna remove the proverbial stick from my rear and ride it anyway. (Probably with my good Marmot rain jacket and a hat ) Gotta let go of my vanity, lol. After all this stressing about hurricanes I've decided that I'll just be grateful to be there, you know?

Honestly the hair was my reason too. Put a poncho on, that's what I did. Just don't take the hood off until you pull back in and stop. I took it off as we rounded the last corner, as the elephant spit water in my face. :headache:

We're looking forward to our first Halloween party and first time at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival! This will also be our first stay at the Boardwalk Inn. Lots of firsts for us this trip. :)

First and foremost, I'm most looking forward to a father/son trip. My son is 23-years-old so who knows how many more of these are left where it's just he and I. Other than that, I'm most looking forward to (A) going back to Disney for the first time since 2008 and (B) Pandora!

We are arriving on the 19th. I tell you, reading the Irma threads is downright depressing. There are a lot of pessimists (my husband would say realists) out there. If it isn't all about Irma and berating people worried about their vacations, then it's gloom and doom about the crowds that *might* or *might not* increase as a result. I frankly think that the increase in people who rescheduled will be offset by the decrease in local traffic as people participate in clean up efforts and struggle to get back to their daily routines.

So, this is our 6th Disney trip, 5th consecutive, and we are staying at Boardwalk inn for the first time, club level (we have stayed club level once before, 3 years ago, at BC). It is rare we can splurge on club, so we are excited about that. We don't eat a lot, so generally by staying at club level we don't have to buy food hardly at all, lol.

I am soooo excited about pandora and flight of passage. We have our FPs booked, and we have an ADR for rivers of light. This year we are doing the water parks for the first time ever. Our 7 year old is more excited about that than about anything else, I think!! Can someone who has been to the water parks tell me 1) which is more fun for a 7 year old boy who isn't 48" tall yet and 2) how cold is the water at the water parks...should I bring a wetsuit, lol? I am a water-temperature wimp.

I hope those of you headed down before/same time we are have a magical vacation!!!! Don't let others scare you off - Florida NEEDS the tourism dollars, they do not need people to stay home.

Anyone driving next weekend like us keep an eye on Jose. They just updated it and it's coming back around, as of now looking like going north of Disney but if driving might want to watch.

Just wanted to check in.

We went to bed around 1am. I slept fine, Aaron (my husband) just told me he woke up about 2am with some stronger winds coming through but was able to go back to sleep shortly after.

Restriction to rooms has been lifted for us as of noon and food and merchandise are available. We are told if we walk around the resort (which you should still stay at your resort property) to be aware.

Majority of damage from all of Disney World appears to be tree/landscape related.

If anyone wants to see a bit of All-Stars post-hurricane you can click on the Spoiler; my husband went out walking around about noon-ish today. Don't worry if you don't want to view it I just was providing it in case anyone wants to see it.

I'm hopeful parks and whatnot will be all good to go here in the next day or two.

Real excited for the rest of you guys who still have trips coming up!!! Remember stay positive all will eventually be well :flower1::flower1:
