***Officially Official September 2017 Thread***

We were and still are getting a lot of flack from our friends and family about continuing our vacation. I refused to go on FB for a few days cause of the nastiness and flat out rude comments we were getting. Glad to have a safe place to discuss what is going on here now. I have to say the level of professionalism the staff at BC &YC is amazing. There is so much stuff to keep our family entertained. Right now there is a 7pm curfew. You have to be in your resort by then.

There's a grea thread about people who are currently there riding out the storm at WDW. It would be a great thread for you for people who are in the same boat.

I completely agree. I stopped even skimming that thread about 100 pages in. It was getting nasty and I just don't need that negative energy.

I really like our sept group!

Ps I'm really impressed how you did that spoiler alert. That was fancy.
I really like our Sept group as well.

 I was playing around one day and found that option under "Insert" on the bar of options that comes up when you're typing a comment. I have a feeling when I do my trip report I'll be learning a lot more about formatting available on the DIS :rotfl2:

I decided to do a spoiler (though I didn't have a clever title for it lol) so as to not bring too much negativity to this thread. That way people can read it if they want or avoid reading it if they want to.

I learned how to do it too!

edit: got it wrong and then fixed it.

Thanks for that info @Mackenzie Click-Mickelson :bitelip:

I've been seeing all the twitter updates of all the fun things the CM's are doing to keep everyone entertained. They are doing a wonderful job.

Speaking of how wonderful everyone is on this thread...while we are watching for news on Irma....

Anyone able to help me with a couple of trip related questions?

Anyone used the Mears shuttle to get from Disney to Universal/I-drive? Any advice? Only thing I saw was someone not get picked up by the shuttle and they used a taxi instead.

Also I have breakfasts at Cape May Café and Trattoria al Forno and I was thinking of getting a bus to HS and then walk to the boardwalk assuming I can get there early enough - 7:35am and 8:05am reservations.

I won't have a car and I don't use Uber or Lyft etc. :scratchin

The only reason we postponed or trip is the concern over finding gas to get there. We would have been driving Saturday and gas was already running out on Friday.

Completely understandable! Hard to know what the conditions would have been like plus the traffic which could have made the gas run out quicker than if there wasn't any traffic (or worse traffic than expected if we didn't have this mess of a weather condition).

We have a rental car that started off with basically a full tank. We haven't driven it too too much to conserve gas.

We're supposed to leave on the 23rd. I'm feeling optimistic about it, however I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned about the tropical wave off of Africa that will be tropical storm Lee? I'm driving my husband absolutely crazy with worrying about it all. We rented DVC points and stupidly did not get points protection. I can't even look at the Irma thread on here. Super disappointed in some of the guilt inducing responses in that thread. Really hoping and praying we're all good for our trip! I have no idea how these hurricanes form and what determines their path yet I am constantly stalking the noaa hurricane map and just driving myself insane.

But it's a dis thread that we're all referring to unfortunately

I knew that, I'm just saying people being rude on the internet and the all drama is one reason I am very picky on the websites I join and am active on. I figure that I was over 35 when the social media craze started, I was fine with my life and privacy before then and I am fine with it now.

Quite frankly, the pure anger on the other thread might just be because everybody is scared and so they lash out. Just my thoughts, but doesn't really excuse how toxic that thread is.

I thought I was the only one stressing about the new disturbance out there. I'm also still watching Jose, because he's starting to spin around in the new model and Call me crazy, but looks like he's lining back up towards Florida. Better be wrong. I'm driving my husband crazy too. I am going on my own points, no insurance either. Our points expire on the 30th, so I will lose them at this point if we cancel. So we're going. Even if Jose and lee join us. :scared1:

Same here. We lived there and actually evacuated to disney for Charlie in 2004. That was a rough year and we moved back to Ohio. I know us worrying about our trip is nothing compared to worrying if your home will be blown away. We have family on harbor island in Tampa that are VERY worried and evacuated yesterday. I'm hoping they still have that beautiful home to go back to. They are also going to give us the heads up when the roads are clear to go.

If you don't mind saying, in what part of Ohio do you live? We live near the Akron Canton Airport. Maybe we're neighbors!:flower1:

I'm not sure which Irma thread everyone is referencing but if it's the same one I'm thinking of, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it sounds like a battlefield over there. This thread def sounds more friendly!

Looks like Disney fared pretty well based on the comments in the thread with the guests who are staying there. My postponed trip this Friday might still live! Hooray!

Okay, lets get some excitement back on this thread!!! You have all been so great and we know we are caring people who are NOT only thinking of our trips. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, right? Soooo, tell us what you are most looking forward to on your upcoming trip and what you loved the most if you've gone and are back.

For me, I think I'm most looking forward to just being in my happy place and feeling like a kid again!! party:

How about you??? popcorn::
