I am doing something myself. I plan on setting something out each night of our stay, so when my kids wake up they will have a surprise...not that the trip isn't enough or anything! ha! But this will probably be the last time we go for several years..so enjoying this age (8 & 6) while I can!! Some examples of things I am planning are new Disney pjs, new shirt, princess dress, costume for MNSSHP, plush. All things that I have collected over the past few months. Much cheaper!

I am in a weird position. We have a daughter 17 and a son almost 2. The in room celebration is a little old for one and a little early for the other. I am going to do it and probibly just use most of it to decorate his room or den when we get home. I am spending a ton on this vacation so a little more won't make any difference. We have not been on a true vacation on over 15 years so this the first big one in forever.

My wife calls me a dork. Whatever. I can live with that. LOL

My wife thinks I'm nuts. I have been talking about going to Disney almost daily for at least a year now. She thinks I need professional help but she lives with it.

I'm with you on my TP plans. I've got them pretty much the way I want. My FP+ day is 20 days. I'll adjust my plans once I have those. Positive thinking in action here - I'm going to get exactly the FPs I want and won't have to adjust my plans (that I've been working on for weeks) at all. So it is written, so it shall be.

We went last year during the Christmas season and it was so busy. I'll take hot and slow over busy and cool any day. But that's just me. Remind me that I said that, someone, when I'm melting like Olaf in Summer!

Figures, we were booked that week and moved to the end of the month. I had the hardest time switching ADRs. Making me nervous for fast passes.

I cannot recommend the Touring Plans reservation finder enough. It just found me one for 6 people on the 10th yesterday. It also helped me get 3 other ressies in the past month that I needed for our trip.

I used to recommend them, but I have 2 watches that have gone 12 hours without checking in the last few days. I can do better than that myself. I emailed them and they said basically there's so many people that use it now, going 12 hours without checking is normal and "they make no guarantees how often it will be checked". So I will just continue to look myself. In the past I would get alerts and just miss it. I haven't got anything this time.

Im finding a lot of openings the week of. People cancel when they realize last minute what a pain it is to get too.

I booked it for 9/26 but then change s my plans around so now I'm trying to get it for 9/23. No luck, but I'm planning on getting it last minute.

Exactly. When we were there in march, we noticed BOG and tons of other really hard ones opened up days or the day before. We got BOG twice last minute and Ohana.

Agreed! It helped me get Sci-Fi, BOG, and just today it notified me and I locked down the last one I wanted, Beaches & Cream!

We are arriving on a Friday but don't check into All Star Sports until Sunday. I know we are eating at Boston Lobster Feast one night with some old high school friends. Anything other than that it is wide open.

Fastpasses were a breeze this morning. Lots of choices, had no trouble getting the times we wanted.

Great News!!
My fastpass window opens on the 26th and I hope I have the same luck. Bought some new tennis shoes a few weeks ago and started trying to break them in yesterday. I may have to get some different ones if they don't come around.
