Has anyone ever had a bad room at the Contemporary in the tower?

There is no bad room locations in the tower. Even if your at the end of the tower, its about a 30 second walk from the elevators.

love ASMovies but hated the lovebug bldg, because(and only because...) walking with a sleeping child is torture when Daddy didnt come on this trip...:faint:

We stayed in the Broadway part of ASMusic, and I think that's what turned me off of the values. It was a hike to get to the buses and the food court every day. I wish I had a computer back then so I would known that it wasn't a good section.

The Country Music building at AS Music! We were 2 doors from the end of the building, on the third floor. They could not have put us farther from the buses! And 2 of the 3 day trip was pouring rain! So every night we had this safari-type TREK from the busses to the room. Not good! It is the only time I did not invest in the refillable mug.

So, if you ever got to AS music and the offer you the Country Building, RUN, don't walk!

:rotfl2:
Is the Country Building the one that is a really putrid shade to boot? Or is that another building?

Worst room/resort ever was at Disney's Hollywood Tower Hotel. Mousekeeping never came around, the electric was faulty and don't even get me started on the elevators. On the plus side, location is everything - Had a fantastic view of Fantasmic every night. I'd stay there again with another 40% off code.

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Here is mine first. I edited it so you can see.

Did you at least get good animal viewing from that room?

yup, i had fantastic animal viewing but the walking back to the resort after a whole day in the magic kingdom was a pain..

As for the coronado springs, we had pretty good location from what I can remember.

In 2005, we had WL, room 1130.

We paid for a PREFERRED VIEW. If you think of WL as a U, imagine being on the bottom of the U near the front of the resort, in the very last room, facing the villas, and on the bottom floor. We had an obstructed view of the Villas pool, and could see Bay Lake if we looked way off in the distance. The Room was HA and not in good shape.

I think the worst part was that WE THOUGHT that we had paid to guarantee a Courtyard view, and had been dreaming about it for months.

Trust me, if the CM checking you in ever asks..."Are you really sure you want THAT room? - We have something with 2 queens that you WILL BE VERY HAPPY WITH"

Take their suggestion!

Worst room for us ever was at Saratoga Springs, in the Paddock section just a couple of DAYS after it had opened. :sad2: There was no internal bus yet. The door locks kept breaking. The rain kept flooding the hallways and into the rooms. And every time we had a problem, it was a twenty minute walk back to the front desk to tell them about it! I think we made it to the main building once or twice in ten days. I hated it!

I have a headache just thinking about the room we had at BWV. Not sure of the room number, but it was something like 4001. It was directly above the dumpster that the beer bottles from Jellyrolls are dumped into every night around 1am! Then at say around 5am, the metal gate was opened and the "beep" "beep" "beep" of the garbage truck was our wake up call. We had to spend two nights before they could move us to VWL (crowded time of year). It was so quiet there!

side note - On our next trip to VWL we walked into the room and I looked out the window and then down, we had the dumpster view room that is all the way at the end of the hall on your right. I called the front desk and we were immediately moved.

yes, the akl room i had was about a half mile walk to the lobby. NOT COUNTING from the lobby to outside to the bus stop which is another 1/4 of a mile.

These reviews are making me wonder if Disney needs a new booking category for obstructed views/ridiculously out of the way rooms. I cant imagine paying a deluxe price and ending up with some of these issues...especially a dumpster view. Sure it's okay if they move you, but what if the hotel is booked?

Hollywoodhaha, we had a very similar room location. To make it worse I was about 10 weeks (first trimester when you have to pee, feel sick and are exhausted all the time) pregnant and that trek back and forth to the room just about killed me. We had reserved a pool view but were upgraded to savannah view. RIGHT!!! There were never animals near our balcony. I circled the areas (the pool, the food court and the bus stops) that seemed like a mile from our room.

We had a room at the Beach Club that was directly under the 6th floor concierge club lounge - and for two nights had to deal with the sounds of the vacuuming, furniture moving, and other assorted housecleaning at midnight and 1:00 in the morning. It was awful. :headache:

They finally moved us - to a room as far away from the lobby as you can possibly get...but it was blissfully quiet so we didn't care about the walk. I thought for sure that I would never forget the room number - but I guess I've blocked it from my memory!

I didnt realize WL had a preferred view...I have only been given the option of Standard, Woods or Courtyard.

Wow! This is a thread I can totally relate to!! I have stayed in so many bad areas! Where do I even begin!

Well, here's a map of where I was placed TWICE at POR. Both times I politely requested Alligator Bayou, and both times DENIED! (Maxiesmom - I can totally relate!). Both times I wound up in the very back parking lot of Parterre Place. It wasn't a horrible walk to the food court, but the bus stop was always crowded, and I don't think I could have been farther from the main pool if I tried (only swam there once ever), it simply wasn't convient at all. Just a lonely, out-of-the-way location. I never saw other people. Rooms were worn and in bad shape, too.

So now I won't stay at POR ever again unless I can get AB!!! I am sick of the back corners of the mansions. :sad2:
