Official Worst Room Location Thread

This is giving me the hibby-jibbys. Bad room locations scare me. :scared:

Old Key West is my story. Rented points - got a room RIGHT at the main road. The noise was unbelievable - no way we could have gotten any sleep. They moved us but we had to pay $25. They don't move you for free like they do in the regular rooms.

Once at the Polynesian they were working on the quiet pool near Tokelau. We loved the view and the location but the noise was unbelievable. We asked to be moved and they took care of us - put us on the other side of the building and we didn't hear a thing.

Woah, I am staying at POR in 32 [soon 31] days and I am scared to know where in the huge river area we will be placed.
:scared:

ooh.

also- AKL wasn't so bad from the location. We got to look out the windows that were in some of the hallway connectors.

:flower3:

My two worst locations would have to be:

1. Boardwalk villas: Our view was spectacular of the lake and the Dolphin and Swan statues but he room was the absolute last room next to the SWan facing the boardwalk. To get to Epcot it was a hike!!!!! But I did love the view so I wouldnt give it up. LOL. We were on the top floor and could see everything.

2. Would have to be WL. We booked a deluxe room which sat on the outcropping of the U near the villas facing the lake/beach area. The walk to the lounge was really really really far. My sister was celebrating her 50th and had just had knee surgery. It was kind of sucky for her. The view was not that great either. I wish I could remember that room number. It almost made CL access not worth the hike. LOL.

Our worst was at the BC. We decided to spring for a deluxe and were very excited to have a balcony. When we opened the curtains and stepped out onto our balcony we were looking into the peaked roof of beaches and cream, In front of us was the asphalt and rock flat roof of the restaurant. Big air conditioners whirring away and the smell of french fries wafting into the room ( not so bad at first but the smell gets icky quick) Hotel was full and we couldn't be moved. So that will be the last time we stay at the BC. We will try some other deluxe before heading back.

I didnt realize WL had a preferred view...I have only been given the option of Standard, Woods or Courtyard.

I don't know exactly what they called it now, but we definitely paid extra for it. I really think we paid extra for a "Courtyard" view.

They did tell us that it was the busiest check-in / check-out date that they had EVER had at the time. (1/2/2005) We waited 45 minutes to check-in that morning. Transportation was really bad for the whole week, and we both got sick.

After all of the great reviews, we do plan to eventually give WL another shot.

Oooh, Fries :goodvibes But I understand were you would get tired of that fast..:wizard:

Worst room/resort ever was at Disney's Hollywood Tower Hotel. Mousekeeping never came around, the electric was faulty and don't even get me started on the elevators. On the plus side, location is everything - Had a fantastic view of Fantasmic every night. I'd stay there again with another 40% off code.

SO FUNNY!

When I was at CBR, of course I was placed in Trinidad South. This area is across the main road from the rest of the resort, even. Totally near nothing. My room was very close to the bus stop in Trinidad South, though (not that it helped me like the area better). When I checked in at CBR, I asked for anything but Trinidad South - nope. Got Trinidad South. :sad2: I was on a solo trip and being in isolation from the rest of humanity wasn't what I had in mind. I drove to the food court since it was such a hike. Yikes!

Here's where I was at CBR: (And I never stayed at CBR again after this!)

Ok, I am on a roll here .....

Here is a map of where I stayed at WL. I was ground floor in a woods view room facing the otter pond. The room was centrally located and steps away from Roaring Forks, but it had a pretty obvious problem when I got there - it was directly next to the loading dock. :sad2: There was a fence, but right on the other side I could easily hear trucks, workmen, lots of feet, talking, and of course the "beep beep beep" of trucks backing in. I felt so uncomfortable on my patio being just feet away from that. Tried to switch rooms - nope, all booked. The room was a king bed and handicapped-assessible, and like another poster said, the room was very worn. Just not the relaxing trip I hoped for. I was too low to see the fireworks, even.

So if anyone is assigned this room location - run!

We stayed at the WL last month and had paid for a woods view room. When I had made the reservation way back in July, I requested a king bed room on an upper floor. When we checked in we were told we had been upgraded to a courtyard view. Ok, that sounded fine, but then they said it was on the first floor. I told them that I had requested an upper floor, so they looked and found something on the fifth floor that I could have, but not that night, I had to wait one night to get it.

When we went to the first floor room, we couldn't find the first floor. We had no idea that the lobby was located on the second floor, and you had to go down to the first floor from there. After trying to find the first floor for a while, we finally went back to the front desk to ask for directions. Apparently there was only one elevator in the entire hotel that went down to that floor, and they showed us where it was. I was so glad that I had told them I didn't want that room after I had seen it. It ended up being a handicapped access room, which we didn't need, and our upgraded view was of a patch of dirt that was under the area where the waterfall would come out of. You could see the pool if you stepped out and looked right.

I double checked with the desk that night to make sure our next room was a regular king room, and that the view was better than the one I was looking at. I was assured it was a great view and a normal king room, which it truly was. The next room was right in the center of the lodge and faced directly out to Bay Lake, it was a beautiful view. This was our first trip to WDW and I had so been looking forward to our stay at WL. I'm thankful that they were able to move us. Our friends checked in the same day we did and were upgraded from a woods view room to a concierge room. I guess it's just the luck of the draw.

Yall have some pretty dang bad rooms..sigh.

I some how don't believe that every-single-room is booked in most of the resorts.

At the Dolphin, they put us on the top floor, right on top of the ac's on the roof! It was so noisy I though I was going to lose my mind

You forget about your resort problems when you go to the parks..you come back..and BAM. You feel like your in hell.

Without question, our room at ASMU. They put us in the Country Fair section and it was like walking across the country to get to the main building or the pool, or anywhere that mattered.;)

I can upload a few of the room locations I have had in the past once I get out of school later.

Is this a map of POFQ and POR? Which part is which? If this map does not include POFQ, does anyone have one they can post?

Thanks!
