Your logic is sound, and that may be the problem with your conclusion. Almost nothing RunDisney has done over the past week has made much sense from a logical standpoint.
**WILD SPECULATION SUBMISSION #1 ***
Maybe runDisney is ditching active.com? (Or is that just wishful thinking!)
**WILD SPECULATION SUBMISSION #2 ***
Wine & Dine (Full) Marathon!!!
That's exactly what I've been thinking as a possibility.**WILD SPECULATION SUBMISSION #1 ***

The only way we’re doing that is if they bring The Walking Dead attraction to Orlando and have a TWD themed race. Other than that, no interest from our family. Though I’m sure some out there want to run with Potter. So when we do we get runUniversal. They should seize on the opportunity.
I'm about to register for run and ride at my local cedar fair park. I'm sure It won't he as fun, but I bet it's a bit more organized...and cheaper...closer to home...Maybe but you hope they would’ve planned that prior to a race registration.
So when we do we get runUniversal. They should seize on the opportunity.

I would think that they would have kept active as a backup if that was the case.**WILD SPECULATION SUBMISSION #1 ***

The package I booked for this weekend was only available to book from Princess weekend until March 3rd. You only had to book a room plus registration. No ticket was required which was good for me since I have an AP.
I didn't realize about the IT department coming from Amazon. I'd definitely expect better.
I'm glad you brought up the CCV. I was just commenting to a friend that I was *so* glad we hadn't bought one of the guaranteed weeks.

runDisney looks like they are messing with other stuff.

My thought exactly. If they're ditching Active, I hope they're having someone else handle their registrations and are not planning on...gasp...doing it themselves.

I can see that Active wouldn't want to give it up, but don't almost all third party contracts with Disney end eventually? Active may not have much say, ya know.I can't see Active not finding a way to keep the rD contract. With hundreds of thousands of entries per year, that's far too much money to give up.
