Official Wine & Dine 2014

My first Wine and Dine. Did 2 donalds before. Any idea when we get the email to print off our waivers to bring?

I am away this week, back for 4 days then fly down to WDW to get ready for the race.

Any thoughts?

thanks

Waivers can be printed by going to the runDisney website, click on W&D and scroll down to waivers. You will enter info requested and then click on link. Then you can print your waiver. I never received an email.

Thank you, I was able to do that so now I'm all set except for the waiting.

I appreciate the response.

Looking for an after party ticket (Epcot)...I am taking my teenager after all and can't leave her in the hotel room. This is our first visit to WDW.
Any help would be great. I will pay to dollar.

Is anyone doing a Christmas themed costume for the 5k? I was thinking a green tutu and red tank top.

I was thinking of doing a holiday theme. All I have to start with are the red and green Minnie ears. :) But I'm thinking red and white striped tights/socks and some red and green running gear. :)

Hope everyone had a nice final "long run" this weekend!
Just a few more short runs until gameday...

I know this has been discussed before, but what is the recommended food plan for your nighttime race? Do to time constraints, I generally run petty early and have no issues; however yesterday I went out after work and thought I timed my last big meal correctly but ended up with stomach issues at about mile 6

So I am trying to plan the best list of stuff that I need to have available after the race (before the party), and was hoping to get some feedback from everyone..I have read a few good hints along this long thread...Any thoughts on additional items to consider? I will be by myself, so won't be able to have someone bring me anything afterwards.

I take a washcloth to wash off with and a hand towel to dry off. I also pack a small draw string backpack that I put empty into my clear bag so I can easily carry everything around after the race.

This is something that varies by individual. I have found that eating my last "meal" no later than noon is the best for me. I will then take a nap or rest in the afternoon. Then I will eat a snack of a banana and half a peanut butter bagel while waiting/riding the bus over to WWOS. This times out the same for me for morning races. If I am running a race starting at 7 am, I will eat dinner around 7 to 8 pm the night before and have a snack about 2 hours before the race. Try to adjust the times times from a normal morning race to account for the evening start.

My routine is almost exactly this, though I think I ate my banana/bagel around 6pm.

I had my first running dream last night. In my dream I was running the Wine and Dine half marathon and I had forgotten to change my shoes. So I was running in my flip flops!

Totally silly outfit question... Can I wear DD, or DH's magic bands during the race? I haven't fully decided what to wear yet, so I ordered almost every color for our family. We are staying at 3 different resorts, so we'll have 3 sets each. Since I'm not using the magic band to get into any parks, I am assuming I can wear someone else's that may coordinate better.

As long as it isn't for admission purposes, it shouldn't matter whose magic band you have on. (I am assuming you will be wearing it as entry into your room?)

Correct, I am only planning to use it to get back in our room. Thanks for comfirming that!

RunDisney has replied that someone is able to pick up our 5 bibs on our behalf since our plane is arriving too late for us to get there Friday night. Any fellow DISers willing to help us out?:grouphug:

I am assuming you need someone to pick up bibs for the 5k. Did they do away with the race morning option? I was in the same dilemma last year for the marathon weekend 5k, and when I emailed about it they said I would be able to pick it up race morning. They just didn't advertise that option because they want people to pick up early and go to the expo.
