Official Wine & Dine 2014

I haven't been keeping up with the thread in a while, so forgive me if this has been asked and answered, but has anyone heard if legacy runners are being recognized? Thanks!

Shame on Disney if they don't

Okay, I don't want to get flamed for asking this but I'm going to risk it... do people wear their finisher medal the next day in the parks? I'm asking because I don't want to be "that guy" wearing the thing on Sunday ... but if everyone has got them on then I will wish I did too (provided I finish - don't want to jinx myself here!). So ... to wear or not to wear... that is the question. Thoughts?

I just got back from Tower of Terror 10 miler, which is also a night race on a Saturday night. Sunday at the parks I saw a lot of medals and/or T shirts. Monday I saw fewer, but there still people wearing them--I left Monday evening and there were even people wearing them at the airport. :)

Anyone else see the new 'photo verification' thing they are going to be using for Coast to Coasters. Anyone else think this is something that sounds better in thought than in action?

All I am seeing is a huge backup or problems if for some reason they can't find someone's photo. It can happen.
I did see that - they must think people have been cheating the system. I know there's facial recognition software that Disney utilizes on the cruise ships so maybe it's something like that.

I hope there isn't a back-up for people receiving their C2C medal 1 month from today (!!!!).

I don't think that's a flame-worthy question. :)

For me, I'll be wearing mine to the after-party and then all day the day after the race (Sunday). Monday maybe, not sure sure. Definitely wear it though, if you want to - in 2011 I did the Princess Half with my brother and I wore the medal afterward...he didn't (just didn't realize that people did that) and regretted it. The next year after we did the marathon he didn't take the medal off for the rest of the weekend. :)

I'm not sure whether I'll wear it to the airport but either way I won't check it because (sadly) I've heard of people getting their medals stolen out of their luggage!

So for me, once the trip is over I won't wear it anymore and it'll go up on the wall with my other medals.

Wear it!!!! I wore my tot medal last year for four days. Wasn't going to on the fourth day but put it on to ride tot since we were in dhs, and after finishing the ride saw another person wearing his. We chatted and promised to rock the medals for the day so i did.

Day after is perfectly fine esp with it being a night race.. day 2 is fine, day 3-4 gets a tad much and day 5 becomes 'seriously?' To me if you want to 'advertise' after day 4-5 wear the shirts..

I disagree! If someone wants to wear it for a week, wear it!

So what does it say? My cell isn't displaying the program PDF today.

For Disneyland half they put my c2c wristband on me at packet pickup. Since I was going back to San Diego for two days before the race that felt a bit silly. Then after the finish they marked it as they gave me the medal.

They feel this isn't enough now?

My first W&D I didn't know everyone wore their medals the next day so at breakfast I didn't have mine on but I didn't need it, everyone knew I had run from my waddle from being sore.

When we went back to the hotel for a little break I put mine on.

We also wear our at the airport(pack it on carry one and put it on after security).

Rose, just read in the program that there will be a perfect tent at the finish area to receive a commemorative item for all "perfect 5s". :)

Where in the program? I couldn't find the details, but it am skimming. Do you think they will count you as perfect if you did the relay the first year instead of the half?

On page 27 of the program, there is information for perfect runners. It looks like they at least get a special lanyard.

There's an updated version of the program at runDisney.com. That's where the perfect info is.

Ok. This will be our first WDW race, but we have done them at DL. There are way more corrals that what we are used to (ok, only 2 more, but L sounds like very late). Are the corrals smaller than in CA? Or less time between waves?

Smaller in the front and so go off pretty quickly initially. Last year the first five (A-E) corals all went off within 10 minutes of each other (first four averaged around two a piece and E came three minutes later). The corrals spacing increases the further back you get. L was supposed to go off at 10:40 last year according to last year's program (I was in a corral further up so I don't know when they exactly started). K and L have the biggest gap with 7 minutes between starts. But the gap goes from 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 and then finally to 7 as the corral sizes increase. Or at least that's how it went last year.

In I. Kind of wish I had been able to qualify for H since that's closer to my speed. But it will do!

Oh and heads up if you haven't got finish line tickets yet. There at 98 percent. I finally acted on it this morning. Website to purchase was a mess when I did it not that long ago. Ended up having to call in and purchase it. And will apparently pick it up on race weekend.
