Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

Was thinking the same thing, but not sure they'll get accurate info. For instance... my sister and I are both running and received this. If we both respond to this email and indicate that we are coming with 4 other family members (my DH, DD, DS), do they count that as a total of 10 people (her form has 5 total, and my form would have 5 total)?? Not a super clear survey for the purposes of a count...

Yes. And if you don't bring 10 people they're going to send you a bill. :P

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but all the cones for the 10k are already out, ready to use for the race weekend along the entrance to Epcot!

I haven't made it to the finish-line side of the Epcot parking just yet - I'll try tomorrow to see if I can get some pictures!

Either really prepared and early or waiting until the last minute....good ol' runDisney!

For the survey, runDisney trying to figure out the number of buses does make sense, though my first impression was that they are trying to sell more tickets to the party, based on the question asking if our family and friends already have their tickets. At least in my recollection, the party (in past years on Saturday night) has been sold out at least weeks in advance, as I tried to find tickets last-minute for friends during the last week or two before race weekend because it was already sold out. As of right now, the week of the party, there is still availability for the party tickets. Logic, and the availability of tickets still, would suggest this year's party will be (much?) lighter attended being on a Sunday night. I know at least my wife and I aren't going because of the change. Good for everyone who can go though!

Yep. Makes sense that it will be fewer people attending. In the past, it was a good way for family members to enjoy themselves during the race and meet up with their runners after. With the switch to a Sunday morning event, I'm betting a substantial number of people are either going home after the race or just not that interested in attending. I personally felt it was way too crowded last year to be enjoyable (probably because the shortened race meant more people were interested/able to go to the party) so I'm actually hoping for a lighter crowd this year.

So let's see how this will go: post-race party until 1:00 am, drive back to where I'm staying, pack, leave for airport around 4:00 am for a 7:00 am flight, land at 10:00 am, and go to work. :crazy2: I'm going to be super productive next Monday!

Yep, that's me. I have to go home Sunday night. If I'd planned better and had known my job situation over the summer, I would have taken days off on Friday and Monday instead of Thursday and Friday, but I didn't and once I figured things out it was too late to change. And I'm lucky I even got Thursday, since I might have only been able to get Friday (which I needed since I'm doing the challenge and have to get to the expo).

Sounds fun! :/ I'm already dreading next week Monday after the early mornings on Saturday and Sunday (and Thursday too actually since our flight is at 6:00 am) and a flight that gets home around 10:00 pm on Sunday. If there are any delays it will be awful.

We're using the party as our 2nd epcot day. We have fp the day before for frozen, spaceship and living with the land so I'm hoping to meet joy and sadness during the party and ride test track and soarin. Less people would be good for us as I think our focus will mostly be on attractions and character meets rather than the kiosks.

But they should be all ready to go now, as @Keels has been there for a week, getting them prepared!

Please make sure that the Chardonnay is silky smooth for us. And that the cheese fondue is nice and warm.

Got y'all covered!! In full transparency - after a weekend of #CoupleFun with my husband and @mbwhitti and her husband, I've visited almost all of the F&W booths (YIKES) and can offer many suggestions! I've also warned them that all of my RunDisFriends are ready, thirsty AND hungry!

Not sure what was meant by this, but I picked up my volunteer credentials on Saturday and I was told that I was supposed to receive information after my final volunteer shift that I would receive info about the "After Party" - I didn't ask about this, of course, I was just told when they handed over the stuff I need for this week. Anyway. Just thought I'd pass along ...

Maybe since it seems sales are down they are giving volunteers tickets to the party. But if that's the case it's a bit ridiculous to think they will all be able to attend since it's such short notice.

Welp this sucks at work tonight mgmt made me stay late to mop upstairs and I think from carrying the mop bucket up and down a flight of stairs I may of aggravated a back condition I got from a car accident a few years back plus strained my left knee so much pain and I promised my sister we'd do one last long run tomorrow

Getting excited here! We finally wrapped up Hurricane Matthew cleanup last weekend (we had a lot of tree debris, it was crazy), I did my 10K costume (the more elaborate of the two) test run last night (bonus it was Halloween!), and I'm starting to pack.
:cool1:

Did anyone else receive the survey/RSVP email regarding attendance at the after party? I haven't taken it yet, but I doubt that DH and I will go. When I did W&D in 2013, it made sense to buy him a ticket so he could putter around Epcot while I ran, but since we're AP Holders, I just don't see the attraction in shelling out money for the privilege of spending more money at the kiosks, something we'll probably do Sunday afternoon/evening anyway. [insert Debbie Downer music]

Happy wining and dining, all!

Oh no! I hope that your knee and back are feeling better today.

I just realized I have totally slacked off and haven't even glanced at anything as far as Food and Wine menus are concerned!!! Where are my priorities?!?!?!?:upsidedow:confused3:drinking1

oh I hope this is so, we are running the 10K, but have friends runnning the half, but didn't feel I could swing the extra for the after party, but since we are doing medals for the half, I'll keep my fingers crossed that maybe this means they'll let us in

Never got the after party cards on the mail because left on Thursday last week.
:(
That's ok as we already made our departure flights on Sunday evening before RD decided to change from a Saturday night to a Sunday morning 1/2.
:eeyore:
Still ticked about that one.:stitch2::stitch2:

Already received the $15 gift card...used at Mouse Gear in Epcot on a cool long sleeved T for myself that I likely would not have bought without it so that was cool.:smickey:
