Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

Ah, I see. Yeah I could totally see how it would be hard to buy the bag if you weren't sure that she'd use it!

Who knows, maybe at some point those bags will be discounted further. I'm surprised they have been showing up at the Florida outlets...I guess they didn't sell well? (I personally LOVE them!)
Hm, I just looked them up on ebay and they seem to be selling for around $169-179 for the Alice ones and $199-$229 for the JC ones. Maybe I should go back, buy a couple of each and sell them on ebay and buy my mom the bag with the profit! :) Lol. Ah well, all this is interesting to me. I knew the D&B and Vera Bradley ones were normally expensive but just wasn't familiar with this. Thanks!

I just noticed that my proof of time for Wine & Dine (which was the TBH) says 5/8/1916. Oops! :faint: Not really sure why 1916 is even an option. Here's hoping I don't end up in the very last corral!

Ran for the first time in almost two weeks today. Had to join a gym since DH's new job start super early and I have been working nights. I needed childcare to be able to run. I really don't like running on the treadmill, but I can't skip all my maintenance runs or I just fail at doing the long ones it seems. The first of four fall halves is 9/11 so I need to keep on schedule!
Good work!!!!

I need to get serious too although thankfully I don't have four halves booked :)

Assuming it even gets checked, if the URL is accurate, I think you'll be fine.

I might have gone a little crazy with the half marathons this fall! I only had two in addition to W&D until the Hershey Half released a peanut butter cup medal and then it was a fourth...and one that didn't fit into my training schedule too!

How could you turn down the Peanut Butter Cup Medal???

How could you turn down the Peanut Butter Cup Medal???

Therein lies the problem...I couldn't! :rotfl:(Even though I swore I wasn't going to run it this year, but at least it will be checked off my bucket list with the cutest medal ever!)

I know right!!! I am a peanut butter cup addict, and Hershey is only an hour from here. Im all over that one.

Peanut Butter cups are my favorite too! And I'm about 40 minutes from Hershey so I guess it's a no-brainer. Either way, it's a done deal now! The peanut butter cup will be mine! (And the medal to match too!)

We are heading to Hershey Park tomorrow for a few days to end our vacation. I looked up the race schedule there when we were planning our vacation, but I couldn't make it work. The medals are so cute. :-)

Not a great training run this morning...not awful either...dreading 8 miles this weekend.

As am I. It will be my first run at more than 7 miles, and Ive been struggling to finish the last couple because of 97% humidity at minimum. But I am hopeful the humidity drop this weekend will help make it happen. Ive read that oxygen is important :p and the air certainly hasnt been giving it out lately. What a luxury that will be. haha

Ran 4 miles today, walked another .5 after. It felt really good considering I was at a bowling fundraiser eating and drinking all last night and a few days ago had a pretty rough 3 mile run. The heat is still a bit excessive here in FL, but the morning's are getting nice. Even had the chance to get a nice sunrise picture!

Got my 8 miles in. It wasn't bad but I should have listened to my instincts and charged my watch, it died with a mile and a half to go. No biggie on the distance but my intervals were off a bit. Now to stretch, shower and then go to my massage.

Took my Garmin off charge this morning, and didn't notice that something went haywire: none of the buttons work, and it is stuck on 5:57am. I used the Nike run app and my Timex stopwatch to record today's 8.4 mile run. DW also got in 8 miles. Warmer and more humid than we anticipated.

Now to go work the evening shift.

My Garmin has done that periodically too ... Quite frustrating.

I am struggling with training. Mostly due to my new part time job, that's almost a full time job! LOL! While the money is useful for all the runcations I have planned, it has messed with my run schedule recently! Had planned a long run today and they changed my hours from 2-11pm to 8:30am-5:30pm. So, no long run this morning. It is nicer for having to be there at 6:30 tomorrow am, but neither day gives me time for a long run. My last long run before my 9/11 half will be next weekend and that's making me nervous for Harrisburg. But either way we'll get through it. I'm running with my husband who has not run more than 4 miles since he retired from the Marine Corps. But he's probably better at sucking it up and getting it done than I am! LOL! Should be good times!

I'm struggling too. I've managed to keep up with a few short runs a week, but between my cruise in July and then the seemingly endless warm weather and humidity, I haven't been able to do any long runs (other than a 10K 2 weeks ago which fit perfectly into the training plan for 6.5 miles). But I have not done today's 8-miler. A cold front did go through and it significantly cooled things down and dropped the humidity, which should last through Monday, so I'm hoping I can try to do at least something tomorrow. Fall really cannot come soon enough, because the weather right now feels great and would make the motivation to get out and run a lot easier.

It's really hard to believe that race weekend is only 11 weeks away. It is going to fly by! I've been doing some talking with my Dad today (who is planning to come along on this trip as well) and we are trying to solidify our plans. As of right now, we have Thursday evening arrival and Sunday evening departure flights booked, but due to a change in my job situation (I don't have one right now :( ) and me really wanting to make it to the expo on Thursday, we are considering changing to a 6:00 am flight on Thursday. That would give me Friday to just do a park and not have to do the expo. I would also like to stay until Monday so I can go to the after party, but we may have to skip that. Changing to a Monday flight and then having to add another hotel night would add quite a bit of cost. I'm fine with it overall, except for kind of stressing about finishing the half marathon in time to make it back to the resort (All-Star Sports) and shower before having to be out of the room at the 11:00 checkout time. Assuming I start around corral G like last year, does anyone think I should have a problem with this (I'm plugging in a hypothetical finish time of about 3 hours, but I hope I finish more around 2:45). I'd like to stay around the finish area for at least a bit, but feel like I'll have to just dart right out of there to give myself time. I'm not sure how long the buses will take.
