Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

Who's up on the construction in Animal Kingdom? I'm 100% out of the loop but am wondering if it'll affect the 5K course at all. :confused3
I don't think construction of Avatarland will mess with the course since that one you posted didn't go through camp Minnie & Mickey & as far as I know that's where all the construction is.

Does anyone have any experience with the travel agents and getting bibs through them? I am registered for the 5k and challenge, but my 10 year old has been training with me to a point where now I would like to add the 10k for him. I could work in a 2 night stay, but really only need 1 night, and do not need park tickets. Probably a long shot, but any advice or direction there would be great.

Okay, that's what I thought. I just remember WALLS, WALLS EVERYWHERE from when I did this race in 2014 so I wasn't sure if the only construction was now in CMM or if there was other stuff. :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, TAs are required to include the 2-night stay and tickets now for WDW races - that's new this year. Check out a charity instead? Good luck!

I can't stand how much I love them. More the longer I have them!!! They are like fine wines.... the Dooney's just don't do it as well for me :)
I just really got into them in May, and I'm sort of obsessed. Totally agree with you on the Dooneys not doing it for me (not anymore, anyway).

Did you see that Harveys has been teasing a Beauty & the Beast bag on their Snapchat?? EEEK!

I got my bib for the half via a travel agent, and in order to obtain the bib I had to purchase a 2-night stay and a 2 day park hopper ticket. I am not sure if all travel providers require the same, but I would have to imagine it would be somewhat similar. Be sure to visit http://www.rundisney.com/wine-and-dine-half-marathon/registration/#travel-providers to see if anyone is still selling 10K bibs.

This is now a requirement for all travel agents for races at Walt Disney World. I don't think the hotel/ticket requirement is there for races at Disneyland.

My husband is officially WAY more trained at this point than me. I have to get on this asap :) He's doing a 5 miler basically every other day at his best pace ever. I haven't run in a month. SIGH! The humidity is killing me and frankly I've been feeling lazy :)

We switched resorts-- managed to snag Yacht Club! Will make stumbling home easier after that post race party.

I DID!!! I would be so thrilled if they were the commemorative race bag for rundisney, I think they should alternate :)

Probably a really dumb question but, Where do you guys find the Harvey bags? Are they just at DisneyLand?
They seem to mostly be at Disneyland, since Harveys is based out of California (this is what makes me think they won't ever do a runDisney bag, unfortunately - at least not for the WDW races :( - but I would be all over that!). I *think* they may have some at Trend-D in Disney Springs, but I'm not totally sure. I know that they have some at the outlets in Florida as well!

And they are on their website at shopharveys.com

But most of mine have been purchased on Facebook (some of the retired styles - such as the one in @twinsouvenirs avatar :)).

They have them sometimes at the fancy gift shop at the Grand Floridian (Summer Lace?)

I too often purchase them online (ShopDisneyParks app, or the Facebook resale sites). Or ebay!

10k on the local HS track this morning for me. 100M pickups every few laps. DW was there, too, and did about 2.5 miles before heading to work. 11 days to our 10 Miler on the local Rail Trail.

Ran for the first time in almost two weeks today. Had to join a gym since DH's new job start super early and I have been working nights. I needed childcare to be able to run. I really don't like running on the treadmill, but I can't skip all my maintenance runs or I just fail at doing the long ones it seems. The first of four fall halves is 9/11 so I need to keep on schedule!

They had them today at the Outlet Mall (Character Warehouse) on I-Drive. Unlike you guys, I had never heard of them and saw an Alice in Wonderland one behind the counter that I knew my mom would really love. Asked for the price and when she told me $100 I was like "Um, yeah. No. No way." No idea if the regular ones are that much more or if they weren't discounted at all at the outlet but the pricing shocked me!

You're talking about the Disneyland 60th anniversary Alice poster tote, right? I have the Jungle Cruise version sitting on my desk right now! Love it.

Retail is $198. ;) So yeah, it's discounted! (I got mine via a shopper on Facebook, so I was able to save a few bucks!)

Yeah - it had the DL tag on it. My mom (named Alice) is a huge Alice collector and we got one of the same pics (heck, had to be 20 years ago) that had hung under the train station for her as a major Christmas gift. So I thought it would be great to have the bag to match. But I'd never heard of Harvey and was debating if I'd buy it if it was up to $30 or maybe $40. Guess I didn't realize what a deal it was! But I still just don't think she would appreciate it or use it enough to justify that much.

Ah, I see. Yeah I could totally see how it would be hard to buy the bag if you weren't sure that she'd use it!

Who knows, maybe at some point those bags will be discounted further. I'm surprised they have been showing up at the Florida outlets...I guess they didn't sell well? (I personally LOVE them!)
