Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

is there any way to still get into wine and dine?

There are spaces available for Lumiere's Two Course Challenge, if you don't mind running both. It says sold out on the registration page, but if you click on the link for the kids' races, it will bring up all the available options (Lumeire, Chear Squad, kids).

Kinda bummed I didn't register for the 5K now. But after Princess weekend I swore I wouldn't do three race days in a row. (Says the girl whose BRF is trying to talk her in to Dopey!) But I think for the price of a Disney 5K this is a much more appropriate medal!

My only fear there, is what the costs will be for the next 5k registration post this announcement.

I just want women's cut shirts for the 5Ks.

I actually do not like the womens fit tech! Because I hate that weird, tight v neck. When I updated my proof I changed to mens instead

I like the v neck, although I agree it is small/strange compared to some other vneck type shirts, but know of other's that prefer a regular neck and pick men's too.

How's training everyone? Just about 3 months to go!!! I have my actual clothes figured out for the races just will have to add embellishments to them for my themes. Ran in what I'll wear for the half today for 9, was going to do 8, but it was actually cooler and overcast so why not add on 1 more.

Make sure your Proof of time is in too, Aug 2 is cutoff to submit, which I don't technically know if that day you can submit or it means before. Hope everyone got a race in that wanted to to use. I

Has anyone stayed at an All Star resort for a race before? Is the food court open before 3 to grab coffee at least? We have stayed at dvc resorts before so I usually just make it in room. I have never stayed in a value before so I forgot they don't offer coffee makers in room. We aren't checking luggage so I can't really bring anything to make coffee either

Thank you for this info! I've been searching everywhere for some way to get in on the wine and dine half marathon. I was able to register for the Lumiere's Two Course Challenge by going in through the kids races. Running 2 races is better than none!

I do wonder if there will be a price hike in the future. I checked and the Dark Side 5K is $75 whereas the Wine & Dine 5K is $70. On the flip side, the Captain America 5K was $80!

I stayed at All-Star Sports for marathon weekend this year and the foodcourt opened at 3:00am for all the race days except the 5k. I don't know when it opened that day, but don't think it was 3:00am, but I could be wrong on that. They had a cashier open I'm pretty sure or if you have a mug you can just fill up with coffee obviously. We'll be there again in Nov. The only downer is hearing the Star Wars fireworks at night if you are trying to sleep early, but I know other resorts you can here fireworks too.

The women's shorts we get for the race are vneck? If that's the case I'll need to switch to a men's small. I had no idea it wouldn't be a regular round neck. I'm not a fan of vnecks for any shirt.

Yes, the women's shirts are vneck. I'm not really a fan of vnecks either, but I wouldn't know what size to get in the men's cut so since I have my shirt from last year I'm just sticking with the women's sizing.

Last year shirts were long sleeve v-necks for wine and dine. Basically the same as the other race shirts with long sleeves. Here is last years on so you can see the v-neck.

Thank you both! That helps me decide.

I really like the women's v-neck tech shirts! I do size up, though. :thumbsup2
Are the shirts available at the Expo? I ordered the men's because I really am not sure on women's sizing without trying them on and tend to wear men's fit more. But if they're available, might consider getting a women's as well. How much did you size up? Thanks!

You get your race shirt(s) after you pick up your bib number at the expo, you only get one per race or challenge though, they aren't available for extra purchase. There is a shirt exchange area and you can trade if they have the size you want available.

Still trying to survive summer here in FL. Did my first back-to-back with a long run this past weekend (2 Sat, 9 Sun) and didn't want to die, so it's coming along, lol! 2 more months of oppressive heat to go...
Way to go! :thumbsup2 I admire you and other people who run down in the south or in warmer climates. I am seriously such a wimp when it comes to the heat, and just cannot get myself motivated to get out in it and even give myself a chance to get a bit acclimated to it. I've been using the treadmill more often lately. Hopefully the weather down there is better come November for Wine and Dine, unlike last year. I know it will probably still be warm and humid, because it's Florida, but cooler than last year would be really nice.

Way to go on those runs!! My brother lives in FL too and he said today "guess I should start running" to get ready for the half, and I'm over here in Nebraska, like, but I love heat compared to freezing cold!! But luckily here in Nebraska we had feels like a 100 for awhile, but then we get breaks with cool downs with less humidity & just 80s. Like today we lucked out, it was supposed to be high 90s and humid but our temps didn't get as high so was pleasant.
