Training plans start today! I got in 40 minutes/3.83 miles on the treadmill this afternoon.
I'm hoping to be better with sticking to the plan this year than I was last year. I now know I can finish a half marathon even when I was undertrained, which I did in June, but I know it's not a smart idea to do again and need to be more prepared for Wine and Dine, especially with doing the 10K too.
One of my other goals with training is to gradually work in more runs outside even when it's hot or humid. I need to get over my wimpiness and start getting more used to warmer temps. I survived the humidity of Wine and Dine last year, but with it now not being a night race, the sun will be a factor too, especially during the half. The half I did in June was on one of the hottest days we've had so far this summer (of course), and it was brutal near the end.
