Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

I collect pins so I got that and splurged for the half jacket since in the end I didn't think it was that much more than the training shirt. I couldn't do almost 4p for a tech shirt but it made the 90 for the jacket ok this is also my first half and rd race and probably only 1 of both but we'll see. I also got them because we won't be at the expo until Fri morning so just hoping there are still I did it shirts.

We arrived Friday afternoon last year and there were limited sizes of the I Did It Shirts left. I didn't end up getting one, but wasn't too heartbroken after the race was shortened.

Question on resorts: which is most convenient to ESPN/starting line? Anyone ever stay at Art of Animation or All Star Sports? We usually stay closer to Magic Kingdom, so not sure how to plan this trip wisely.
I think those are both convenient. I've done POP (which is basically just like AOA) and it was great for bus service to ESPN & EPCOT, I don't think we shared with AOA at all, but can't remember for sure. I mean it's just right down the road from ESPN so besides traffic backups it doesn't take long to get there. I have stayed at AOA on a non-race trip and I liked it a lot too, The lake is fun to run or walk around if you are staying at AOA or POP.

This past January we did All-Star Sports and it seemed like in no time we were at EPCOT or ESPN really! At All-Stars we didn't stop at any other All-Stars in the morning of the races but we did share coming back from the races with all the All-Stars. It was great though.

Soooo I just got super lucky and stublef onto registration being on hold. So I refreshed and got in! Now to figure something out for my hubs.
Which race?

I am also debating purchasing the pin set. What are your guys thoughts on those? Must have? Not worth the price?

I get the pin for each race I enter and usually pin it on the lanyard of the medal after finishing. Sometimes I wait until the expo to buy the pins, sometimes I pre-order. I opted to get the pin set when I registered, as two of the events are inaugural.

Pop Century is right next door to Art of Animation and usually has a significantly lower price point, but it is a slightly different type of resort. I have had the same experience with the All-Star resorts as the previous poster, dedicated buses to the event, shared buses from the event.

I got there Saturday morning and there were no women's "I Did It" left, in any size. Like you said, I wasn't too upset after what happened. ;) I did get a C2C shirt but the smallest they had was a large. Its a bit baggy. ;)

Yep... Right as you hit Cars Land. Quite impressive.

This was our view as we were out on the streets then (a bit blurry while running)...

For princess this year I got an I Did It tee for the challenge on the morning of the half. There were limited sizes available in the original colors, but I was told that they could print one on demand if I wanted a different color. There was a truck there with a printer so that they could do them right there.

I'm not sure if the same vendor will be there for this race, but it's worth checking out if you are not able to get one at the expo.

The 5K is back to being ON HOLD too...how do they expect people to know this without obsessively checking Active.com or just stumbling upon it? :confused3

I agree. Just happen to be on the rD page & though "might as well check & see if anything changed"..then BAM it was there.

This is so odd! Seems sneaky strange to me this way. Good if people actually can get in. I wonder if they'll have a booth with open spots at Dark Side like they reopened Dark Side at Princess. So, to get those people who just got hooked into another race and not having everything really sold out?!?!

And they still have every race (except the kiddos) listed as SOLD OUT on the runDisney website...:confused3

We are all in for the Wine and Dine! I got DH in for the 1/2 and my DS 13 in for the 5K during the AP/DVC registration. My DS 17 is in for the challenge and I am in for the Challenge and the 5K! My son and I ran our 1st ever race in February and loved the Princess 10K so much we are hooked!

Tonight's Random Training Thoughts:

The best way to celebrate the inagural challange of a night race-gone-day is in a refurbished Wonders of Life Pavillion, sponserd by Cigna.

My run outfits should be themed to classic cocktails - daiquiri (lime, sugar, rum - thats it), whiskey sour (it ain't right without eggwhite), and sidecar (? )

Sitting in my local road runner sports waiting for a volunteer meeting for their adventure runs (i want to earn the free shoes) and I'm looking around for costume inspiration and there's nothing. We are thinking Disney bounding style rather than a costume.

Eavesdropping on a on a conversation about space coast, funny since I'm near seattle and that's probably one of the furthest marathons from here.
