Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

Question about registering.
So we go to the RunDisney web site. Click on registration and there will be a link there at noon?

Nervous already. Fingers crossed things go smoothly because I don't want to have to used my lunch at 9am to register, hoping I can get it done within my break time. Either way I have the ok at work with the understanding it could take up to 45 min. I just want to be done and registered for the half. Phone alarm is set and I'll set an alert in outlook when I get to work.

We're on our first Disney cruise right now, which is great! But... I still need to register for one 10K and one 5K tomorrow... from Tortola!! :scared:

I've paid for an extra data/text/phone package to cover the island as well as possible, and have a tip from a fellow DISer about a nearby restaurant with WiFi. Still...I don't like my chances and it stresses me out! Being DVC/AP, TAs are a ridiculously expensive option if I can't manage to register these two tomorrow. :(

Wish me luck?!
Good luck to you and all the others registering today! I hope everyone gets in for the races they want!:lovestruc

Went to gym this morning for a short strength training session with the Mrs.:drive:

Two laptops, one for the Mrs. Active account:surfweb: and one for mine:surfweb:, up, on, ready to click the refresh button.

Wearing my RunDisney grey dry fit the Mrs. :love:bought me at two years ago.

Driving back to gym at lunch for a Jeff G. Tuesday 45 minute segment run session. :moped:

Good luck to everyone!party:

Are we there yet? :car:

Kids Race packet pickup question:

I'm taking my cousin's son with us. He's doing one of the dashes. Who picks up his packet? Can I? Does a parent HAVE to be there? If so, he won't be able to run I suppose. Anyone have any experience with this?

Yes, it HAS to be the parent that registered the child. The only way for you to pick up your cousin's son's bib is if you can manage to register him yourself on your Active.com account as a minor. I know this as a lady in front of me at the cue line for Princess Half had the same problem. She was in line to get her bib, and RunDisney refused to let her pick up her niece and nephews bibs even though she had the printout from her sister....all bibs pick ups require photo ID that matches the registration. So she was in line to get hers and then her sister was having to come back later that day to get the kids' bibs.

UGH. Is anyone UNDECIDED on what race they are doing?!! I was all set to pump myself up for a night race, and then they added the challenge! I'm not so sure I want to do the challenge, other than desperately wanting both medals. LOL. DS6 doesn't want to do the 5K, so I'm signing him up for the 1 mile kids' race. DS9 wants to do the 5K with me, so that's $170 right there for the 3 of us. Bugger.

Someone help me make a decision! LOL.

P.S. We are locals, so I have no plane tickets or hotel restrictions to worry about.

OF COURSE today is the day that the Internet goes out at my office. :badpc: Don't they know it's Disney registration day!? If this isn't fixed soon, someone will be getting a frantic phone call. Doesn't really help that I'm jacked up on coffee. :surfweb:

Just stopping by to wish you all good registration luck, heap a mound of positive karma and juju on you, and pray for your mental and emotional well-being.
Also since I've completely talked myself out of signing up this year...I offer you one less spot being taken by me :)

Thank you, and I hear you! I nearly talked myself out of doing this Wine & Dine race at all. Decided I'll do either the 5K or both the 5K/10K. Still working up to deciding if I like Half Marathons. I did Princess Half and it was fun, but SO. CROWDED. For the prices, I may just stick to 10K's for awhile, and they are crowded enough too! :D

We sound extremely similar. If I was you I'd do the 5k/10k only because I have a weird feeling that 10k medal is gonna be cute since it will be the first one/also because the themes are so different (christmas and food.) Ok, I need to run away from this board now as I'm getting jealous.

Based on how last week went, I'm gonna say...

10K first
Then Challenge
Then 5K
Then Half
Then Kids Races

No predictions on times, except that I think the 10K and challenge will be gone in...an hour or so? :confused3

Well- one plan I had may not work so well. I was going to have 2 internet sessions going on the home pc: one logged into my Active account; one logged into DW's account. Just tried to do it now, and when I start the second session, it has me already logged in. When I log out of that session (#2) to log in DW, it logs me out of my session (#1).

Training shirts look real neat. Not going near them though, until we get officially registered.

I looked back at the 2015 thread, and found registration day. I posted at 12:19 (put the time in my post) that the ticker had registration at 50% full for the 1/2 at that time. It sounds like the % full tickers are a thing of the past now. Once anybody hits Hold or Sold Out, can they post the time in a post here, for future reference?

Best wishes to all. As one who works in health care, I took today as a day off, to make sure I could try to register us.
