Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

Do we think magicbands will not work for entry? Or do you just mean people who didn't link theirs thinking the system magically knew they wanted to? Lol. I imagine they use the same entry scanners for cards and bands? I can't remember how we did it at MVMCP last year...
I always say WHO KNOWS?!? For any given event I just never know if they're linking these things or not. I always have my backup. :thumbsup2

Given the course changes, what are the thoughts on spectator spots? I assume the Epcot parking lot will be the best option for them. If so, what's the best way to get there - will the race buses still be running at 6am, and if so, do they even transport to the finish line area? They'd probably need to be in their spot by 6:45a at the absolute latest. Will they even be able to get a decent spot, even though they didn't buy the ChEAR Squad seating package?

Thanks everyone, and enjoy the next few days...remember to take it easy! You've all worked hard for this, enjoy it! See you all down there :thumbsup2
I believe in the event guide it said for the half that busses from resorts to the Epcot finish area begin at 5.

Here's a question for anyone who has done Princess or WDW Half: Epcot is listed at opening at 9am the day of the half, but I can't quite figure out how guests will be getting into the park while the last hour or so of runners are coming in without some kind of crisscross going on. How does that work?
It could easily be a big issue for the guests with that many people coming into the park and crossing a single crosswalk.

So maybe I'm reading the hours incorrectly. Early entry into the party is 8 pm, Epcot closes at 9 pm, and the party starts at 10. I've always seen the park closing at the same time the party starts. What is going to happen in that hour?

They will have cones and people out directing guests and have had marathon weekend & Princess finish the same so I don't think it will be an issue. Yes guests might get annoyed at having to walk a different way to get somewhere but they will survive.

Not sure, Illuminations is at 9:00 so there's that. Probably just shuffling day guests out. I can't see rides stopping for that time, they'll be finishing up day guests who got in line by 9 and then I'm assuming they'll start checking for wristbands to let any others in after 9. Food kiosks not sure if they'll have a lull in ordering or just start checking bands after a time. I'm assuming in special characters out won't start at all till 10 but maybe they'll have signs out if people want to pre line up. Will find out soon, so close!

Honestly at Princess it wasn't that big of a deal. I'm definitely not a fast runner. Normally around a 13mm, but with two photo stops there were guests at those points waiting to cross when I went through. It was pretty seamless. They just let people cross when there was a break in the runners. There was a cast member directing guests and runners at the cross points.

10k distance for DW this morning; 8 miles for me. Local track again, but DW found a loop we can incorporate on surrounding streets. It is 1 mile, and has a hill at almost a 7% grade, plus a smaller hill. Not feeling too bad. Setting out nutrition to take with us for the races, and then the packing of suitcases begins.

Woke up and my knee didn't give out so that's a plus. It feels about 50% normal. I'm wondering if it's a virus of sorts so it can just see it's way out now. Today was planned off day and I'll see in the morning how it is to hopefully get in a run otherwise I have just Monday to run before leaving.

Hope everyone's last runs go well. Nothing crazy now! So close!

My Outfits are: If you see my say HI!!!

Still no party ticket for me. Hubby's arrived yesterday, so I'm a bit nervous that mine has gotten lost. Has anyone gotten confirmation from RD that they will have the ability to "make it right" at the expo? This whole mess with mailed party tickets and emailed gift cards was really not well thought out IMO.

My ticket came today! Still no gc so I'll have to take care of that at the expo Friday.

My 4 mile run turned into an almost 3 because I was already too wet by the end of the 1st mile and I had a slower pace in the rain and ran out of time. I'm ok with it though. Two more short runs this week. Had a massage and saw the chiropractors so I should be good to go until I get home after running a half and going on rides for a week ☺

Don't worry yet. I have gotten mine but DH didn't get his yet so you are not alone. Hopefully these show Monday. :)

May have missed the post, but there is no working link to the virtual goody bag on the runDisney site where it should be. Finally looked through the event guide more tonight, and page 28 has the link to the virtual goody bag. We didn't get much out of it last year, but didn't want anybody to not know how to get there in 2016.

In a last minute reminder email from RunDisney it said International guests pick up party tickets at the expo.
"*International runners will need to visit the Welcome Center at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex to receive their tickets."
awesome thank you !!! its funny how sometimes we are considered international but for others we are not ..

I haven't gotten my party ticket either. I was pretty disappointed not to see it in the mail yesterday. I have moved since registration, but my address is updated in Active. (I've only checked it a million times since they're mailing this out, even months ago and despite registering for more races through active.) I leave bright and early Wednesday so hopefully it will come Monday or Tuesday.
