I have a friend on Facebook that posted that she just got her volunteer notice, either yesterday or today.

DD and I got our volunteer papers in the mail today. Does anyone know where you have to report to? I've never done DW before only DL and there you just walk, now I need to figure out if the buses will be running early enough for us to take and if they even go to where we need to be.

If you're waitlisted - you'll ONLY hear if you get picked, which may be slim. So, just assume that you will not be volunteering and if you hear otherwise, it will be a positive surprise.

Today's 11 miles, since I missed it 2 weeks ago, is the longest I've run and is the first run that made me question why I thought doing the half would be fun. I know it will be fine for the race because there's more going on than making sure I don't step on slugs, worms and snails but it was rough.

Anyone know if they might release bibs without a hotel package now that we r within the 1 month time table?
Looking for a 10k one.

I'm crossing my fingers that they release the event guide and waivers this week. I am getting so anxious! Last year we got them right around this time. I can't believe we're 4 weeks out from 10K day!

5 miles yesterday and 10 today (in my outfit for the half) for some Lumiere's practice. Not perfect but overall I'm happy with how it went! :)

Hoping for a big info dump from runDisney this week - bring on the courses, event guide, waivers and corrals! :yay:

Way to go! I did 6 miles today, and plan to do another run tomorrow as a sort of Lumiere practice. Not sure of what distance I'll try to do, but it probably won't be more than today. I'm mainly going to use it for the back to back.

And I definitely am hoping for the info release too. Disneyland Half got their info about 3 weeks in advance this year, so that's where I've had my sights set.

While we're waiting, does anyone want to take a shot at answering some random questions related to race weekend? I'm bored and thought maybe it would get some excitement going and make this thread more active. Here are the questions I'm posing:

1. What are your guesses for what the course adjustments will be for the half marathon now that DHS is out? How do you think they'll make up that distance? (I'm sure this question has been discussed many times, but why not ask again?)
2. What are your predictions on official event shirt colors? Any preferences? I'm asking this since I wore last year's shirt for my run today and was thinking about it.
3. What are your ideal weather conditions you'd like to see on race day?
4. If you could wish for any character appearances on course, what would they be?

I'll share my answers in another post.

My husband and I had a great training weekend in West Virginia -- loaded up the rv and went to a resort where we each ran a minimum of a half marathon. I ran another 5 miles today while he biked. Felt wonderful to head to a fresh location and run my first half distance. Getting so excited for the coming weeks!

Yeah, what? Who would want to run with a piece of silicone hanging on them?

Now I'm stumped.

Ok. The template came in and, as expected, it cannot be removed once the magnets are installed. However, thanks to Hurricane Matthew-induced boredom, I have confirmed that the template can be removed if you trim the top layer of silicone away from the holders. I haven't tried it yet on a full bib, but it works pretty well with two magnets so far. I'll keep everyone posted when I get a full bib trial completed.

Question about spectators...we've never done a race at WDW, just Disneyland. In Anaheim, spectators can just line the streets, but at WDW what is the best approach to take? Is chEAR squad the way to go? Any information about how we should approach this would be great!

I am planning on running tomorrow, but undecided on distance since I have Harrisburg Half next weekend. I think I might go out and run 8 and then maybe do a short run prior to the Hershey Half next week for back to back practice, as I have really slacked at that. My last long run is supposed to be the weekend after Hershey, but I normally like a week off after a half from long runs so I'm not sure what to do. I feel like my training for this race has been so crazy between my knee issues and now Hershey throwing off my schedule! The struggle is real! ;)

I am so excited to see the course and find out about corrals. Hope they are out this week!

Also desperate for them to confirm the rest of the 2017 dates so I can make some plans.

Question for those who have down the WDW expos in the morning on opening day (I've only ever been late in the day when it was pretty calm) - for the expo to work with my plans on the Thursday I really need to go at about 10am when it opens. I know it will be crazy crowded. I'm not after a lot of merch or anything like that - but am wondering how long should I put aside to do the basics on a busy opening morning of an expo?

4 weeks today till the half eep

To improve on my 10 mile run the other week, yesterday I did a 12 miler in 2hr 35, honestly couldn't be happier (although ache a bit now lol).

Just helps to build up my confidence that I can do this and will cross that finish line.

I am so looking forward to the race and seeing some fellow Dissers!! Totes excited...

My long run Friday turned into just 6 with walk breaks as my left calf has been messed up for a few days. Yesterday was off and debating if I should go out for a short run today or take another day off. It feels tight & I never have left calf problems so not sure if it's a problem or just wear it needs stretched out & running won't matter. I have calf sleeves that help normally but with this one not sure it feels like it makes it more tight. Dilemma here....

Good job everyone else getting their runs in.

1. Haven't even thought about the course...but hopefully not with extra Wide World of Sports loops....
2. Shirt let's say Blue for the half, grey for the 10k, yellow for Lumiere's & green for the Holiday 5k
3. Ideal weather...hmmm...55 at start, no humidity (ha not going to happen) and no higher than 70 at finish, sun is fine, oh & I'll take a very light breeze with no rain :)
4. Characters...Lumiere & Cogsworth.

My answers:

1. It's not my preference and I hope it's not this way, but I think we'll be doing a couple miles inside Wide World of Sports. I personally wish they hadn't completely cut out DHS. Yes, the backstage area and Streets of America are under construction, but the course used to enter by Tower of Terror and went down Sunset Boulevard. That area hasn't changed, so I wish it could still do that. They'd still have some distance to make up, but keeping that third park would have been nice.
2. I think the shirts will be darker colors, similar to the medal ribbons. Maybe green, maroon, blue, and purple. I would absolutely love a purple shirt!
3. Ideal weather would be temperatures in the 50s or low 60s and low humidity (but yeah right on the low humidity). I just hope there's not another hurricane!
4. Definitely Lumiere for a character since he is the namesake of the challenge after all! I've never seen him in person before so a photo opp with him after the race would be amazing. Although he'd obviously have a massive line if he was out. I'd also say Remy since he's the 10K theme, but that one's not as important to me since I met him on the Disney Wonder this past summer!
