Official Wii/DS Q/A thread. FAQ in first post! Game reviews in second post!

I think GH will be widely available by April, so I probably wouldn't worry about it until March.

Are you in Washington? The Gibbs thing is tough. :sad1:

Yes and although I'm sad as a fan to see Gibbs retire, I'm happy for him. It was a tough year to be a Skins fan. RIP 21.

I asked my DS about My Sims again and he said to check and make sure there is room to move someone in. Sometimes you have to move someone out to make room to move someone in.

He said there may be a couple of reasons for not being able to move in but he needed more info. Without knowing more he said that you could just start a new game by erasing the current one and then you would be able to move people in again.

Hopefully this will help, it's hard not knowing about the game myself to ask about it and understand what I'm telling someone to do. :confused3

Thanks for asking your DS for us. The game froze up shortly after he realized he couldn't move anyone in and he had to restart it. He was a little upset because he hadn't saved in a while and lost a lot of stuff he did. He hasn't played in a couple days so I don't know if there's still a problem with moving sims in. DS had a lot of empty lots in the forest and desert so it wasn't a case of not having room. I think it may have been some kind of glitch in the game. I've searched the web and found someone on a forum that had the same problem, but no one ever answered him about how to fix it.

Hum, I put in Rayman 2 and Mario vs. Sonic and it looks like the only WiFi features are that you can upload your scores not play against someone. =o(

I would like to be someones friend too .

Can someone tell me where to find my friend code.

I have a mii all set up ,

Do you have guitar Hero or just want to share miis?

Daisey figured out that we set up codes for GH specifically and have to share those.

I'll PM you later with my friend code and explain where to find it. (Unfortunatly I forgot to bring it with me to work today).

That is sooo Lame! I think that link I gave you needs to add exactly what online stuff there is for each game. I was surprized to see those games on there and now I know why!

First let me start by staying my memory is shot! I figured out how to find the wii code on the wii so you can exchange messages, share miis etc and now I can't remember how I did it! :confused3 I know I used the blue manual and had to go to page 36.

The Guitar Hero friend code is different (thanks dodukes!) and that was actually easier to find!

Which code are you looking for? I now have both right here by the computer!

I thought your friend code was the serial number on the Wii, but I could be wrong. That's why I was waiting for DH to save me. :thumbsup2

New question--my DD10 (with Asperger's Syndrome) took her Nintendo DS with her to WDW back in September. She had a meltdown and took it out on the DS, kicking it and stepping on it before I could get it from her :headache: . Of course, the top screen cracked inside. Is there any hope for it (can that be repaired), or does she have to earn herself a new DS? Thanks, Missy

Call Nintendo. They can repair the screen, but it will probably cost you.

Good luck!

Right...call nintendo. Ours, too, got stepped on while it was open and was broken beyond repair. They had me send it back for repair (I think it was actually replaced, though) for $75. Not cheap, but cheaper then a new DS at the store. Try calling them.

I found the friend code when I went to the Wii Message Board (the envelope down on the right corner of the screen). I know I had to do something through that. I know at some point I had a choice of Wii or Other (showed a computer) and I clicked other and put in my email address. Doy! I ended up emailing myself from the wii! I think when I clicked on the Wii option, I then saw my Wii code which I can share with others. That is a 16 digit code.

I do know the GH3 friend code is found once you are in GH and click on WFC. It's a 12 digit code.

This Nintendo link might help! http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/messageBoard.jsp#view

One Million Wii Fits in Japan
Cue the it prints money gifs.
by Anoop Gantayat
January 9, 2008 - Nintendo announced today that it has shipped one million units of Wii Fit to the Japanese market. The landmark came on the 6th, making it a bit over one month after the game's December 1 release.

A few casual surveys of retailers around Tokyo has convinced us that the fitness title and its included Balance Board peripheral have been pretty much sold out since Christmas. It seems that whatever product Nintendo manages to get onto retail shelves, consumers snap up immediately.

Platinum status for a Wii game is nothing new, as Wii Sports has already topped the two million mark in Japan. With Wii Fit, however, Nintendo has managed to sell a million units of a product that retails for 8,800 yen, or 3,000 yen more than most Wii games.

The lesson for us is Pre ORDER this game if you want it or you won't be able to find it.

As soon as we hear that it is available for order, we'll let you know!

Thanks! That is what I have requested from DH for Valentine's Day. My butt needs Wii Fit much more than it needs chocolate :lmao:

Ninjabreadman Review
http://wii.ign.com/articles/844/844327p1.html

IGN gave it a 1.5!!! Said it is abysmal!! The reader average is only 2.4!

So maybe reconsider this one.

And if you do have it, I would appreciate a review.

I saw that as well. We won't be opening it for awhile (DS#2 wants Indiana Jones Legos for his birthday next week :headache: ) Just from the way it looks I think my kids will have fun with it. It was only $15 so I won't be too upset if it isn't great.

If you read the review, it's kinda funny. It's clear that IGN thinks its a horrible game, but it's still pretty positive about how funny the game is and how much they love it for it's uniqueness. I think they would have been freaking out about it if the gameplay wasn't so horrible.:confused3

I personally think it might be a really good budget title for very young gamers.

Just give us a review whenever you open it.

ANd don't forget that Wii Fit won't be out here until probably May, so you might want to ask for a pre order for Easter, not Valentines. :thumbsup2

Morning everyone!
I just wanted to mention that IGN is back from vacation and they are updating with lots of stories and reviews. SO check it out in beween rounds of bowling or after you get that next star.. :teeth:

After the kids went to bed last night, I finally reached 50 stars and got my second green star  The desert planets are officially my LEAST favorite!!!!

Were there any reviews of Mater National on here yet? I didn't think I saw one but we are still really considering it. The kids have it for their DS and seem to enjoy that one. We don't really have a driving game (cow driving in Wii Play doesn't count :lmao: ) yet so we are really interested in this one.

I've heard the same complaints about it as the first Cars game. It's too hard for young kids and too easy for older ones. Our local newspaper reviewed it and gave it a C.

Mario KART!!! It is coming...eventually. I bet Mater would hold them over until Mario kart finally comes out.

DS got a Wii for Christmas and the whole family is loving it. We have two wii remotes and two nunchucks. After playing a two person game and before starting a one person game DS will always take the batteries out of the second remote instead of simply turning if off. If he pushes the power button on the second remote it turns off the whole Wii. I think there has to be a better way to do this. What is it? Does any of this make sense?
