Only got My Sims yesetrday and I'm allreday LOVING IT! The controls are very easy and buliding houses and furniture is easy to! A little tip for you .... it's a good idea to keep you'r houses quite small when you build it cause at the moment my house is a freaking mansion going to change that soon lol
All in all a great game so far! I'll keep you posted on how well i'm doing

FYI for those looking for a Wii: Toys R Us (at least in my area of N. Texas) recently started opening an hour earlier on Sundays in anticipation of the holiday rush. They now open at 10 instead of 11. I was told this by an employee & showed up Sunday morning & was able to get a Wii with no fighting, shoving or waiting in line even as most people I guess aren't aware they're opening an hour earlier.

You only need to purchase memory if you want to take games to other people's houses and stuff. The Wii has plenty of memory for multiple downloads. You may need one eventually, but not anytime soon. And don't forget the Wii uses any kind of SD card for memory, so if you have one for your camera or something, that will work.

Not that I know of. They very rarely are on sale, but just keep an eye on those sunday ads. If I see anything I'll post.

I think I'll get My Sims for the family (DD 4 might like it) and Animal Crossing for myself for my DS. I can't spend a zillion dollars on this stuff! Well, I mean I can, in about a minute, but DH would kill me.

Do you think the controllers will be on sale by themselves at all before Christmas? I'd like to get a 3rd.

I highly doubt that you will see controlers on sale by them selves between now and the holiday.

I'd never say never, but unlikely.

I think when you go to save a new named one if you already have 3, it saves over the first one you set up? Something like that, anyway DS2 is so mad that he lost all the stuff in his hotel and his hotel rating! If you can't at least he'll learn a new lesson about technology... that sometimes you lose things and have to re-do them all over.

As for my throughts on it....
Much better then last year, the controls are so much more tuned and easier to use. Just minor adjustments from '07 but hige in the enjoyability of the game.

2 things I have noticed are slightly laggy in the controls are the stiffarming...This needs to be done in advance. I often times get told I stiffarm too late and get tackled for it. Also sometimes(espically in online play) the pass motion can take to long espically if you throwing a bomb(since you motion the wiimote slower) this has caused me to be sacked more timed then I would have liked! however with the fast pass it is extremely responsive. it's just the slower motion of the bomb.

Graphics wise it's pretty to look at. I'm playing it on a 50" tv with the component cables and things look crisp and clear. Teh stadiums are true to form, one thing lackign are the fans in the stands being just cutouts, but if you've played madden before you know this has been happening for a long time.

It's definately worth buyign if you are a football fan...and if you have a wi-fi connection to play online it's fantastic to just jump on and play some random person in the us. All the signup is done right from the game itself so noo need ot go online and registuyre at EA first.

Now as for NCAA....a little birdy has been wispering that it may be here next year...Ea is considering it.

Lastly the SIMS DS GAME...sorry your son has just learned a lesson in gameing....it has happened to the best of us gamers (me included)..it least it wasn't worse I did it as a kid about 30 hours into playing a game. Talk about being mad at my self.

No. You don't have to hook it up. In fact we've had a Wii at my DS's grandparents house since last Xmas and it's never been hooked up. Now there are reasons to hook it up and others can hep you but it is not a requirement. So yes you can just buy/rent games and play them.

The Wii "sports" games that come with the system are the best 'off the couch" IMO.

We have a black Ds and it shows fingerprints and such. It's very shiny! I'm going to look for a play through case, but haven't had a chance to do so yet. I got screen protectors, and it works fine with those. My son didn't want them, couldn't understand what they were for (he's only just 7), but he didn't even notice that I had put them on!

I got myself a red one, but it's away for Christmas. I don't know how it will be.

The internet question was already answered, so games with no reading. Hmmm...I think just about every game involves some reading, but a lot of the mini game games just explain what to do. So if you or your older DD play the games with DD6 and help her she should be totally fine. SO games like Mario Party 8, Wii Play, Rayman. Racing games like Excite Truck don't have any reading and they can be really really fun. I'm sure DH will have more ideas. Most of the licensed games (games made from movies) don't have too much reading since they are geared for the younger kids. So Spongebob, any disney movie game, etc should be okay.

Almost all of the Wii games are very interactive, but the best are Wii Sports (which you already have!) Dance, Dance Revolution, which just came out, Guitar hero (tho I think 6 is a little young for that) and Wii Fit. Wii Fit has this balance board thing and is a fitness game, but it's not out yet.

What is the best color for the DS Lite that wont show as much wear and tear? I would assume the white but not sure. Any input? My DS likes the white one or the new color from Target.

Wow! I've never thought about it. Amost all the kids I know have the white and it seems to be doing fine. I do programs at my library with the DS, so I've seen a ton of them. Just go with the lighter colors I think. Not sure what the Target color is? Red? White's probably better.
