I bought Fitness Ultimatum 2009 and agree that I was really disappointed with it. Having said that, I still use it along with my Wii Fit to get some variety.
The one thing (and possibly only thing) I really do like about it is I work up more of a sweat doing Fitness Ultimatum than I do on Wii Fit.
The graphics are lousy but as is posted on reviews, that isn't the point of this game. What I do have a problem with is the delay between what I do and what my character on the screen does. Sometimes I'll need to kick two or three times for my character to match me. As sensitive as the balance board is on Wii, I have a difficult time believing it can't tell that all my weight shifted to one side and a foot left the board.
Several of the activities took me a while to play around with to get them to work. The tutorials before each are a good start but not very accurate. I've found that sometimes when it wants me to go up and down with my Wiimote and Nunchuck like a skiing motion, I have to actually do more of a clapping motion to get it to register.
I just keep in mind I should be doing the exercises she is instructing me to do and not worry about trying to make a good score.
The tips are good and I like that you get to unlock them. I can't comment on the commentary or music as I work out with it muted while I listen to other things.
I'm glad I have it because I was getting bored with Wii Fit but I wouldn't spend $40 again on it. If you really do want another workout game, I'd wait until it hits the $19 section which I imagine won't be too long. As I read in an
Amazon review, you are probably much better off putting your money to a workout DVD.
Let me know if you have any specific questions about it!
