Santa will be giving the boys a Wii for Christmas but I don't want to mess up the excitement. Will we need to charge anything beforehand so they can start playing right away(As I'm sure they will want to). Also, has anyone heard about or played the outdoors game? How was it?

You don't need to charge anything. It even comes with the batteries for the wii-motes. Just hook it up and play.

While you can take it out and play right away, I plan on setting up the WiFi before hand, so I dont get pestered to do that lol

Speaking of TRU's sale--Today's ad has B2GO for games UNDER $19.99.

This may be a good DS sale, but very little worth buying for the Wii.

But hopefully the real sale is on its way.

I need some Wii expert opinions, please!

I happened upon a Wii in Target last week. I am putting it away for Christmas.

My question is do I buy Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero: World Tour?

Rock Band - I am used to the older version on my sister's xbox & I like the song selection more on RB2 than GH:WT

GH:WT - dowloadable songs (not sure that is going to be available on RB2).

Also, I really have no idea what I am doing, so I could be wrong on any of the above!

Has anyone tried the Active Life Outdoor Challenge for the wii yet? I had never heard of it until I saw it at best buy the other day. I asked a couple of employees about it and they hadn't even seen it - I guess they just released it the day prior. It comes with a mat, simular to ddr but you play mini games on it. The mat has 2 sides so you can play head to head. I picked one up to give the kids for Christmas, but I can return it. I have yet to hear anyone who's played it.

THE NEW GENERATION IS 100% Confirmed!!!!

Activision(Guitar Hero)has said in numerous interviews that all the new Guitar Hero instruments will work with rockband!!! Specifically I remember them saying it in Game Informer

OK - a little slow today so bear with me.

So, does this mean I can buy GHWT with instruments *and* Rock Band game only and we'd be able to use both with the GH instruments? Can I buy Rock Band and Rock Band 2 - would both be compatable?

BTW we have RB2 for the 360 and it's just as great as the original with some great new features thrown in. We can play over 150 songs since we transferred the RB1 songs and everything we downloaded. I sincerely hope the Wii finally catches up in song availability.

Just in case any of you happen to have a 360, totally buy these games for it over the Wii! Not that the Wii version isn't worth it, if that is all you can get! It's still awesome!

I don't know if anyone posted this yet but Best Buy has Rayman Rabbits 2 half price this week (normally $ 40, on sale for $ 20). It wasn't marked on the shelf but it rings up at $ 20 (it was in this weeks ad). We rented this game and my kids loved it! So now I have two Christmas presents they really wanted (along with Wii Fit)!

It is delightful fun for the whole family. You can buy an extra mat and add to the fun. It is fast-paced and really engages the kids as well as giving parents an opportunity to be completely silly in front of the kids. My 7 year old and his friends play it as well as our 3 year old.

I always check amazon whenever I hear of a sale because they typically have the same price ... that plus free ship and no tax makes it sweet...but sometimes shipping is slow so you have to be able to wait.

I bought IN jones for $39.99 on the 16th....still waiting for it....son's bday is Saturday so I'm hoping it makes it.

I checked a few posts and didn't see this mentioned.

Well, our Sensor Bar has bit the dust. The cat had chewed it up and we managed to fix it, but then I ran over it with the vacuum. (I am in the dog house for that one! )
We tried to fix it, but it didn't work this time around. Checking out a replacement and see there is a wireless, but wondering if anyone on here can give their opinion about it. Worth the extra money? How well does it work compared to the wired one. TIA

We have the wireless and to charge it you just plug it into the USB on the back of your Wii. It has a timer on it for 1 or 2 hours and when it is getting ready to shut off it beeps at you. We love it.

I don't believe this is true. The ad clearly states UNDER $19.99. It also states this on the website.

IGN gave de Blob an 8.4 rating, my son thinks he wants this based on the tv commercial, anyone get this yet? 8.4 is a decent rating, well they say impressive and rank it as an editor's choice. I only wish he said something sooner as my costco had it when I was there the other day and I'm not sure when I'm going back. New wii games sell out fast but it does appear they are gearing up for the holidays already with more toys and games, plus they had more RB bundles for the wii in stock.

Okay!

Hold up--everything I can find says that they will NOT be compatible on the Wii.

Apparently the article DH read said the games are compatible but it may have only been talking about the other systems.

It seems that GH uses the Wii mote, but RB doesn't so it would seem to me that they won't work.

I'm so sorry for the confusion--it seems as though GH had said they would be compatible but they recently found out that RB doesn't use the wiimote so that makes it not compatible.

I'm going to go edit previous posts so no one sees them later and thinks it'll work.

We'll keep our eyes on it and let you know how it develops.

Thanks for clarifying. We've been waiting for GHWT but maybe we should go with Rock Band? All we have is one guitar so it's not like we'd be adding alot. Which one or upcoming one is suppose to be better? I read where the drum on RB has an extra pad that the GHWT does not? My son plays drum, not sure if that would really factor into this but who knows?

I wish GHWT was already out so it could help w/this decision.

Can someone recommend a game that would be good for a family (our girls are 6 and 9) where we can work together? We are having fun with Wii Sports but find that the girls are sometimes not having fun because they are too competitive. Some competition is good but it would be nice to have a "fun" game that they can work together as a team. It would be great if there was one all 4 of us could play together at the same time as a team.
