Hi folks.
I just wandered by this thread and was surprised to see my bib # and corral placement on the first page. OK, it just says, "myweegirls' husband," but last I checked, that's me. So, hi!
The 2013 Half Marathon will be my second, although the first was about 15 years ago or so, so I feel like it's new enough that I am now cramming to get all the good advice I can. Also, 15 years on, most of those not running regularly, my speed is down. You know how people say about guys sometimes, "He's not conventionally handsome?" In a similar vein, I am not conventionally fast.
I hope to move up in my corral placement; I was able to for the ToT 10 Miler, and, just like that race, I didn't submit an expected finish time to the runDisney folks before I got to the race Expo and check-in. I finished the ToT race about 5 minutes behind my DW, so I feel like, based on that result, I should be able to at least get closer to the B corral (where she is), so my corral placement will not put me even further behind her clock time.
At this point, I'm excited, and a bit nervous, although I am counting on the race weather to be better than the ToT 10 Miler. I'd like to wish everyone injury-free tapers all the way to race day, and thanks for letting me poke my head in to say hi.
