I'm at 61 days!! Very much ready to get my cabin assignment so I will stop pondering spending $$ to upgrade - even to a higher GTY category. Once I'm assigned, I will STOP. LOL.

Just got our assignments for our Feb.11th Wonder cruise.
54 days before.

Booked 5C (2 rooms) One room for us and our grandkids and one for my son and his girlfriend.
We received rooms #5128 & #5130.
Glad they are side by side.
We have never been on deck 5.
It works well, we are traveling with our grandkids sans their parents so it will be very convenient for dropping off at the clubs.

Just got today - 18 days out from sailing.

Happy to have deck 6 and not deck 1. No major upgrade fairy, but its what was booked and what was expected- so its all good!
I am posting this on behalf of my daughter (18 years) traveling on her first DCL alone with a friend! They are super excited.

Usually 50-60 days before is the norm.

Hooray!!! The room assignment fairy came today!! And I think she gave me a super nice Christmas present!!

4. Are you happy with your assignment or do you feel like you got a "leftover"- undesirable room/location? Though super excited to get a verandah, I will admit to being a little bummed at first because it's much lower than I prefer to be, but then I did some investigating, and it looks like with the extended verandah I got a winner. So I'm happy now! I could do without the connecting, but I'm pretty sure we had a connecting cabin on our first Dream cruise and I didn't hear anything, so I'm sure it'll be fine.

If you booked directly through Disney, keep checking your profile, the number will pop up on your travel page...if you used a TA, they should get the assignment and let you know..not sure if it will show up on your travel page if you used a TA..hth!

It will still show up on your DCL page when you pull up your ressie.

There is another thread for *GT cabins. It's a different guarantee - in your case you picked a general category (ocean view) while a GTY cabin you select the exact category (like I'd selected 8B GTY) and would not be assigned anything under that (like I could not have been given an 8D).

*GT cabins tend to be assigned much closer to sailing and could even be assigned as late as when you are checking in.

Who says a watched pot never boils?!?! I've been feindishly checking all day today and then, there it was! Room assigment!!!!

#4. Are you happy with your assignment or do you feel like you got a "leftover"- undesirable room/location? I got what I reserved. I do wish we had a pull down bunk, mostly because my son would love it, but there's no disappointment here. It's right by the elevator, so hoping that won't be too loud. We'll be sure to bring a sound machine and I think we'll be just fine

Can't wait to set sail!!!!!!!

We actually love the convenience of being close to the elevators/stairs and don't find it noisy at all. We sailed in 6662 (IIRC) for a B2B on the Dream and chose this location intentionally. I would do it again for sure. Have a great cruise!
