This has me so excited as I'm sailing GTY in January and can't WAIT to get my room assignment - this makes me realize it could be coming SOON!!!!!

We're sailing Jan 3. Seemed to take forever to get an assignment.

#4. Are you happy with your assignment or do you feel like you got a "leftover"- undesirable room/location? It's by the elevators but I was hoping for mid ship and that is what we got!!

#7. What day of the week was you cabin assigned. As far as I know, it was Friday or Saturday.

8. What time of day was your cabin assigned? afternoon?

If it makes you feel better, we have been in a similar location on the Fantasy-7574 is the same proximity to the elevators on the starboard side, and the elevators were not a negative. It surprised us. We actually rebooked and sailed in the same cabin the following year.

That's good to know. We like Mid ship because there is less motion. We are SOOOOO excited for the veranda! January can't come soon enough!!

We are heading into the Christmas season when occupancy is high and there are fewer GTY/*GT offerings. January will be a lot more active.

It seems that early January have gotten their GTY assignments. I am on the 1/17/15 (which is now 56 days out), I'm hoping to get my assignment soon!!!! Most seem to get their GTY assignments between 51 and 53 days with an occasional 56-57 days.

#4. Are you happy with your assignment? YUP! I got my verandah so I'm happy. Looks like I'm mid-ship, so that's good. I had hoped to be off the back of the boat in an actual 5e but 4a should be good too

I wouldn't count on it. We're 15 days out and don't have ours. I was told that sometimes it could go as late as day of sailing!

This sounds more like a VGT/OGT/IGT booking.

This thread is tracking GTY reservations which means you can book a specific category (7A, 5E, etc.) but just can't choose the cabin #. These usually get released around 50-60 days out.

Just a teeny tiny bit disappointed to not have the bigger balcony, but it's a generous upgrade so we'll enjoy the extra space inside instead of out. I'm a little worried about the noise from the pool deck, but we'll make do.

This sounds more like a VGT/OGT/IGT booking.

Thanks for the clarification . I can see where there might be confusion - if someone booked an IGT/OGT/VGT, when you view your upcoming cruises on DCL, the cabin is listed as GTY.

Ahhhhh... I'm at 63 days!! Inching closer to that magical window where GTY cabins are often assigned!! EEK!!!
