Jeff Probst did a bunch of media interviews yesterday and today and said he thinks this season will end up being a lot of people's favorites...there is a lot less backstabbing/bitterness than in past seasons...he also said that he thinks 2 castaways in particular will be remembered for awhile as being big fan favorites...

Also after reading the interviews, I'm a little more excited about the Exile Island twist...don't want to post anything that might be considered a spoiler but it definitely changes things up a bit...

I hope he's right that it'll be a good season...I wasn't into last season as much as I had been in the past seasons (until the very end). I don't really like the idea of going to Panama again but it'll depend on the people.

I'm excited too, even if I'm not so convinced that the "twists" are so amazing. The 4-tribe split seems to me just to be an advertising gimmick if they're only doing it for the first episode, and I'm not so sure how great the "exile" island thing will be. When they exiled Janae (was that her name?) that one time, I didn't think it made for really exciting television. But maybe this time will be different. I'm still excited anyway--even when it's in a bit of a rut, Survivor is still one of the greats in reality tv.

Yeah I'm pumped for it to start. I don't really care for them having men vs women so hopefully, they merge early or something.

Looking forward to the new season as well. I don't really care where they go, I figure it's got to be someplace hot and where they can be totally isolated. I would like to see them have to "live off the land" more--but maybe they're supposed to, just most times they are too clueless. I don't mean that as a slam--it's got to be tough.

Here's hoping the baby doesn't decide that a Thursday would be a good day to be born!

Yeah, the 4 tribe thing is a silly gimmick. We'll se back to 2 tribes in episode 2.


Exile Island should be interesting. Supposedly there is an Immunity Idol hidden on the island (from what I read it will be replaced for the next person if found, not sure how accurate that is.) And unlike last season when Gary had to present it before voting, supposedly this season they can reveal they have it after the votes are revealed. Sounds like if this turns out the way they want it to, we may have some interesting TCs.

I'm sooo excited that Survivor starts tonight and I'm sooo excited to have some people to discuss it with !

Now, let me just sound off on the networks here for putting ALL of the good shows on Thursday nights! If you want me to watch your show, do NOT air it on Thursday! I am so annoyed that there are eight shows I would watch tonight and I only have two Tivos! You'd think that would be enough, but NO! I like Survivor, Beauty and the Geek, Dancing with the Stars, Will & Grace, Four Kings, The Office, My Name is Earl, and CSI. I'm going to have to skip Dancing With the Stars and Beauty and the Geek . Bummer.

Anyway, rant over. I can't wait for Survivor -- it is my favorite reality show!
