What about the guy that said he smokes 3 packs a day. Why wouldn't you quit BEFORE the show started? :lmao: He's going to be going through some serious withdrawl symptoms, wonder if he'll just give up instead?
I was wondering the same thing!

I haven't watched it yet but I am reading this thread anyway!! I don't care if there are any spoilers, I don't like surprises anyway. :goodvibes My DH wants to watch it too and he won't get home from work tonite until around 11:30 so I still have a while to wait. So those who have seen the first episode, was it good so far? :confused3 :teeth:

Don't like Cirie. Seriously, I understand where she's coming from being afraid to pick up leaves---that's why I don't go on survivor!!!! Plus, if I did, I would make sure to get a full-coverage swim suit. Did she not watch Angie on Palau? :confused3

I'm bummed they voted off Tina first, but she should have kept her mouth shut at TC. She blew it.

I felt so bad that Misty had to start the game on Exile Island. Wow that's harsh!.

I liked it a lot!

Not happy with the first boot (wanted Melinda gone), but I thought it was great.

I might be old-fashioned, but when there are only three other names to remember, I consider it disrespectful to refer to anyone as "that Person" [fill in the blank, in this case "lumberjack lady"]. How could Ceira (sp?) not know Tina's name? Either she was dismissing her as a human being, not deserving of a name (perhaps because Tina's profession was one considered atypical for a woman), or Ciera considered learning names of players she wanted to target too much of a chore. JMHO, but this team broke the number one rule of "Survivor", don't lose your strongest members (who might also be the most opinionated) until you are ready to merge or your team is toast.

I thought the first show was GREAT! Too bad Tina didn't just say "yes everyone is working". She would still be there now. But instead she turned the other 2 against her.

I also think that if Tina mentioned her story about her son to her tribemates, her team would have had more sympathy for her.

I thought it was funny how at the end of tribal council Jeff mentioned to them about why they would vote off the one person who was making their life easier out there.

This season should be interesting!

I don't really think losing Tina is going to be a big deal since all the tribes are merging next week. However, they didn't know that at the time of the vote, so it was pretty risky. She did shoot herself in the foot by opening her mouth and saying they were lazy.

I think they should keep the tribes the way they are. At least for a little while longer. It would be interesting to see how they do against each other. I really think the 'young men' team would self destruct because they would all be vying to be 'top dog.' And you saw them playing baseball instead of looking for water and building a shelter :rotfl:

Also, even though it was dramatically drawn out. The dead turtle.... :sad2: Poor thing! I hope it wasn't due to anything production related.

I couldn't believe one of the older guys was trying to form an alliance ("I will never lie to you") practically as soon as they got to the beach, but it seemed to work out well for them. I like the older guys team best.

What dingbats the young guys were! Their priorities when they got to the beach were hysterical!

Hopefully it is editing that makes the young guys look a little, how can I put this nicely, dumb. (That wasn't nice was it?) I liked it and it was so nice to see Jeff again. I wonder if he missed me.

 I don't care for the way they named teh teams. Since when did being in your 30's or 40's become older? just sounds stupid.

smoking guy, what was he thinking?

Cerie, afraid of touching leaves? Is she sure she showed up for the right game show?

Misty, played up the "I found the idol" thing too much :rolleyes2

I liked the 4 tribes because it really helped to get to know everyone. When you've got 8, 9, 10 people per tribe it's hard to keep track of who's who. I wish they'd stay apart for longer but oh well, at least everyone's pretty much identifiable now.

I felt bad for Tina, especially because she was originally cast for Survivor: Guatemala, but had to withdraw because of her son. Her boot wasn't completely unexpected tho, she was the one I predicted would go.

I'm pretty sure they played up the whole Misty-with-the-idol thing because someone will probably use that same strategy successfully in the future. The Exile Island twist is good because it keeps things fresh. I love the original Survivor and wish it could always be the same...but I understand why they've shaken things up. I'd like to see future seasons just go back to the regular game without any gimmicks...but maybe with a few changes here and there. All in all I enjoyed this episode a lot...it wasn't the *best* premiere episode ever but I think that's a good thing...the All-Stars premiere and the Guatemala premiere were fantastic and the rest of the series was kinda, ehh...so I'm liking the way this one is ending up.

I think Tina knew she was toast before the vote. She did not seem to be too surprised to be voted off. I believe she said what she did because she knew she was gone no matter what she said. I perceive her as extremely strong emotionally to have just lost her only child and being such a tough competitor in such a stressful situation. I was impressed by her statement that she was "just with the wrong girls", very accepting and okay with the loss. Of course, after going through what she suffered, a game would certainly be put in perspective.

I like that team too. Except the smoking guy. I thought the alliance exchange was kinda funny the NASA guy was so interested in the alliance, but the fighter pilot was like ok yeah we could do that!
