**OFFICIAL THREAD**Survivor: Panama

I hope Shane goes SOON. I officially hate him -- and not in a good way, the way I hated the wicked witch from Survivor Outback (what was her name??? it's on the tip of my tongue).

Are you talking about Jerrie Manthey? She came back for All Stars as well.

I thought it was odd as well that they didn't show much footage of the guy on Exile Island (sorry, haven't learned all the names yet). He was out there for what, close to 3 days? And all we saw was the first few minutes of him out there. Makes ya kinda wonder why.... did he find the Immunity Idol and they don't want the viewers to know yet? I hope he did because he is going to have a huge bullseye on his back. I don't forsee that group winning many challenges.

I think they're going to regret not voting of nicotine man when they had the chance, he causes too much tension...but I guess he's good for ratings...

They should have remembered that even if they vote nicotine off, they were getting another man (exile karate) who would more than make up for losing nicotine man.

Man oh man did they mess up not getting rid of CRAZY SHane. He is messed up and needed to go. I wonder if they forgot they would be getting Bruce in place of who they voted off. I don't see Shane as a STRONG player.

Plus in the previews for next week they show he going off again.

And I always wonder - HAVE THESE PEOPLE EVER SEEN A SHOW OF SURVIVOR BEFORE THEY APPLY?

Shane "this is just not what I thought it would be". So what did you think it was going to be. Why not start trying to quit smoking before you land on the island.

:confused3

Plus I think it was funny how they ALL are picking who is going to the final four. They don't even know each other yet and they are making promises to take them to the end.

The Survivor looks like it is going to be more mix up and changes than any of the other shows.

:thumbsup2

I signed up for the fantasy team -- thanks, Amy!

Maybe I'm the only one, but I think it makes sense to try for a final four alliance already. I've been wondering why we haven't been seeing this in recent episodes. After all, that's what got Richard all the way through on Puala Tigu. He, Rudy, Sue, and Kelly were a foursome from the get-go. None of the Survivors since seem to remember that except for this season. Mind you, you have to pick a GOOD foursome, not just a random one, but I think it makes sense to get a strong foursome now. We'll se if they make it work this time!

i dont like shawn either
i dont really like melinda or than Cereie but i think Cereie should have gone 1st
i like the other team better

As far as showing footage of exile man perhaps they didnt show too much since there was so much drama going on with the two tribes.

Did anyone see during the reward challenge when cerie landed on the black guys(sorry I dont know his name yet) head/neck. That had to reallty hurt.

They should have gotten rid of cerie first but shane really needs to go. I agree with the other poster - havent any of them watched survivor before - stopping smoking, complaining about no food/water. Please.....

We don't Shane either but he is right that the two women have to go for them to have a chance.

It's actually starting to irratate me that they keep casting folks they know can't do the challenges. I woudl rather see more people that are on the same level. It would make it more interesting since there wouldn't be a big gap. You either have the fit folks voting of the others or you have the others voting of the fit folks because they are a threat. Not what I want to see every season.

I heard Tina on the radio yesterday. She sounded much nicer on the radio and I wish they would have kept her.

They should put casting videos on line and let the public cut Xnumber of duds from the pack. I have to wonder what they did that made them good cast members for the show?!?

I think it makes sense too - I just hope it is NOT the Cassaya foursome that makes it to the end. YUK!

My hope is that they really screwed up by including nicotine boy in their alliance. I think they will have their hands full trying to get him through to the end - but who knows.

Just finished watching the tape.
God, the picking of the teams reminded me of middle school gym class @@.

I don't think they should have to cast people of the same physical make up. Look at the last survivor, the most physically fit men were the worst at the challenges.
It takes all kinds and not every challenge is physical.

On every Survivor the young people always band together and it comes back to bite them in their you know what.

Editing was terrible. We hardly saw anything from three days of Exile Island!
Wouldn't want to be him. Unless he found the idol or makes some sort of great deal with exisiting team mates he's history after Cerie. Then again, it never seems to play out how you think it's going to.

I think it's smart to make alliances at the beginning but it was much easier with the original Survivor because they didn't mix it up as much. You have to be much more careful now.

Well, next week should be interesting. I also officially hate Shane.

Did anyone watch the Survivor Live show?? I think Jenna slipped something about a future episode!!

I sorta watched it with one ear and one eye. I missed the slipup, though.

Didn't think this one was as interesting as last week's with Tina. And did I miss their ranking of the 10 hardest challenges?

What's the Survivor Live show?

Does anyone know the names of the original 4 tribes from last week? One of them began with a V I think...Someone told my DH it was similar to our last name but I don't know what it is (I missed the beginning of both weeks!)
Thanks DISers! ;)

We know, from last season, that they're probably not going to show us the Survivor finding the immunity idol, but rather will leave that reveal for the Tribal Council. (Though, if it never gets used, which is surely possible, we may see it when it is found, instead. For all but the first few episodes, by the time the episode is edited, they know how everything works out.)

Plus I think it was funny how they ALL are picking who is going to the final four. They don't even know each other yet and they are making promises to take them to the end.
From previous seasons, it would seem that having a strong alliance from the start is key to winning. It is not hard to figure out that if you don't stake your claim early, there'll be slim pickings left.

It's actually starting to irratate me that they keep casting folks they know can't do the challenges. I woudl rather see more people that are on the same level. It would make it more interesting since there wouldn't be a big gap.
I believe that would simply earn the producers numerous accusations of discrimination. :rolleyes2

Now that would be fun ! :thumbsup2

I agree that sometimes it seems like people who compete have never seen the show. Those girls jumped into an alliance to go all the way with Shane just because they assumed he was "cool" based on his appearance. They should have gone into an alliance with the two older women. It's worked for people in the past--you align with under-the-radar weaker women who are loyal to you because they know they need you to stay in the game because they can't win immunity and aren't popular. If you took in the quiet guy and Bruce you have yourself a group of people who cannot do it without you and will probably be loyal to the end without being targets. Your alliance stays intact while stronger people and stronger personalities target each other. Look at Lydia in the last Survivor as a great example of my theory. The only mistake they made was voting her off and keeping Danni in the final three--Lydia would have been toast in the final immunity challenge. I don't foresee this alliance being a strong one!
