Official thread for The Bachelor

I've only watched the last few shows, so I didn't see earlier in the season... But what is it about Moana that the other girls didn't like? She seems friendly & personable to me, but I've only seen the last few shows, so I might be missing something?

I hope he picks Sarah she just seems to have more substance, and i was soo happy to see that Charlie (the last bachelor) and Sarah B ( i think that is her name) are still together.

I really think that Susan has been acting all along, and she is not a very good actress either. He asked her some questions, all all she did was repeat back what he had already said. It sounded more like a job interview to me than a frank discussion about their relationship. Her disappointment at not being picked seemed to be more at losing out to the others than her actually being heartbroken. I also couldn't stand the one she always seemed to posing for the camera. It was like she always wanted to be seen in the most flattering angle.

I really think that there is more between Travis and Sara than they are showing us. They are editing it to make it look like he is going to pick Moana, but I still think he will pick Sara. It is going to be interesting to see both of them with his parents though.

I agree, Susan did sound like she was on a job interview. She even said something like "I was always professional" when she was in the limo. I'm glad he saw through her act and sent her home.

I like Moana now, and it looks like they have a great connection.

Sarah - I like her but they have no chemistry or sparks...unless the editing is not showing it. And it annoys me that she keeps bringing up the fact that they both live in Nashville. Last night it seemed like she was trying a little too hard to "sell" him on the fact that they are the perfect match.

Susan so revealed herself in the limo when she said she was always so professional. I am so glad she is gone. What a phony baloney.

I too think maybe they are editing to make it look like there is no chemistry with Sarah. It does bug me the way she keeps on saying lets go back to Nashville. He has already said he wants to leave there. I am assuming that he is not from there but only there to do his residency. What year is he anyway? I do think he will end up with her.

While I don't dislike Moana, if I were Travis, I would be worried about her dependence on others for her self-worth. Being married to a doctor is not easy, and requires an amount of independence that I'm not sure she has. Sarah on the other hand seems to be well established and comfortable in her own skin, something that would help them long term as he continues to work long, odd hours.

I agree wholeheartedly with this!!!

When he asked Sarah about the other girls - I thought she was so classy in her answer - she had made it clear she thought Moana was a witch to the cameras earlier in the show - yet she hadenogh class not to say those things to him - she just said - we are so different that I don't understand how you can be attracted to all of us - and then by saying she is more settled than the others - she just shows a much higher level of maturity than Moana -

who by the way - totally changed her tune about the whole process - remember in the beginning she was disgusted that he was dating a bunch of girls at once - but then last night she told him - it is what it is and she understands - I feel like she has either totally changed b/c of the situation or is playing a game and I am not sure which - she uses such big words when she talks to - not how most people talk in everyday chat - I do think the girl travis sees is totally different than the girl everyone else has seen and that bothers me!

Ok.. I don't know if this has been discussed or not.. but

anybody else think Travis is not a very good kisser? I mean maybe he is just really not good in front of the camera.. at least I hope so.....

as for the women left... very different women, different backgrounds, different emotional levels, different physical characteristics.

Sarah seems the perfect and easy choice for Travis.. but Moana seems to be more adventurous and more emotionally needy... attibutes which may be attractive to Travis

Travis seems like an okay kisser to me (speaking from someone who's never kissed him, of course); it was Bassfisherman Bachelor that couldn't kiss! My husband was even making fun of him!

I agree that Moana is growing on me too. And you always have to wonder about editing. Really, what was her worst crime? That she didn't go there all ga-ga over some guy she never met, and even as time went on in the beginning, that she didn't fall all over him when she didn't REALLY know him? And those girls had a lot of nerve complaining that Moana stole Travis again when she WON the massage with him in the bike race. When they showed "never before seen" clips, you see Moana interacting with the girls in a friendlier way.

I don't think she's done anything other than be herself, even it did show her emotions at the wrong time. We should be glad she has some, unlike her stone of a father.

Any girl who catches the Bachelor's eye, gets crap from the other women. Susan got it too, although I think hers was justified. I did NOT like that woman. Did you see her face when he called Moana's name???? I thought she was going to do this: :furious:

Anyway, I think the other girls are jealous of Moana. I think she's there for the right reason and I think she has the only spark I've seen with Travis so far. And isn't that the point of the whole show?

IMO, what you missed was the producers trying to start trouble in the house, for the almighty rating. They never could show one thing that justified the girls acting the way they did. Heck, next week, they show her sitting around laughing with the other girls and break-dancing (at least it looked like her in the previews - it could have been Cole)! Yeah, that's a real uptight woman!

I do think Moana has some issues due to her background, but I don't know too many people, myself included, who can say that they don't. She let her emotions get the better of her in a past show, and to some, it made her look unstable; to me, it made her look human.

I'm rooting for her. She's definitely the underdog, but I think she's the only one on the entire show who's shown any promise with Travis, and I don't say that, because she's the better of the two left - or the lesser of two evils; I'm saying that, because she's the only one I've seen that can give him what he's looking for.

But Travis himself keeps saying it, over and over. It's his main concern about her.

I think the way he told Moana that he would never cheat on a girlfriend, made me believe that he's going to pick her. It was like he knew that she had insecurity issues and that he was trying to put her at ease. Why else would he have said that?

Does anyone else see this as a similar situation to what Meredith had a few seasons ago with Matthew and Ian? She had a choice between the stable gentleman, Matthew, and the "rebel"-type, Ian. In the end she chose Ian, so I think Travis will go the same way and choose Moana.

Yes, Simba's Mom, I have been thinking how similar the 2 situations are and I think in each case the couple (Ian & Meredith, Travis & Moana) had an understanding by the overnight date and the other "contestants" were just part of the "show". You never know what has been done in editing, but I think he is crazy about Moana and thinks that Sara can handle the "rejection" at the end. I think Meredith felt the same way about Matthew. We'll soon see!

Not to mention the fact that Travis is a doctor. He's dedicated himself to saving lives, so he might like the fact that Moana needs nurturing.

My hubby hates that I watch this show! Really, it almost never works out anyway, seems totally scripted  My fave Bachelor was Firestone, My hubby ran into his exfiance Jen at a RedSox game, he called me from the game while they were together, she was sweet & even waited to say "hi" to me on the phone, he told her I watched every episode (sadly this is true) :rotfl2: , but I couldnt answer the phone when he called - bummer!

As far as this bachelor - Glad Susan is gone & I hope she doesnt quit her day job, she was constantly peering at the camera like she was on a foreign soap opera, or she has a wandering/lazy eye pirate: , but 1 or the other :rolleyes1

Moana needs counseling the poor thing  , & Sara is sweet but they'll never end up together....He'd probably pick her only to dump her like Bachelor Bob did & hook up w/ a soap actress who can really act! ;)

I think he is originally from Colorado or someplace like that.

Has anyone else looked at the website for the show on abc.com? If you click on where it says Bachelorette Photo Gallery it has pages of all the girls that look like pictures that were done in a studio. Is it just me or does it look like someone just threw a dress at them and said, ' Here, put this on!' Some of them are SO AWFUL! The one is also a green version of the purple dress that Sarah wore last night. I think this one is the worst and I LOVE pink!! It would be cute with some PANTS :rotfl:

Also, here is part of Travis's diary about last night's show:

The exotic dates this week were amazing. It was so wonderful to experience a beautiful place with a person you really care about. Meeting Moana in Venice was so romantic. I love that we share so much and that we continuously learn from one another. It's great to see that we are on the same page about everything.

Traveling to Vienna with Sarah was awesome. I was so excited to see her again. Whenever I'm with Sarah, I feel like I'm with my best friend. On our date, I found that not only am I attracted to this woman, but I cherish and respect everything she says. To hear her say that she is the woman for me without saying a bad word about anyone else made me realize that if I hadn't met her, I would be missing a part of myself.

Seems like maybe he likes Sarah more. Didn't he tell Susan that he likes to have a girl who can bring something different and challenge him and not always agree with him on everything? Yet, one of his comments about Moana says he is glad to see they are on the same page about everything. :confused3

I think I am going to place the money on the girl he said this about:

if I hadn't met her, I would be missing a part of myself

I think what sarah said about being settled probably rang true for him - he is a doctor and won't be able to just move whenever he wants on a whim - Moana seems so lost - what does she do? what does she want to do?

I found it interesting that he asked Sarah what she thought of the other two women. If he was really that into her, would he have questioned her about the others? He obviously respects and values her opinion - like a friend.

After last night, I am rooting for Moana. They seem to be developing what looks like a real connection with each other. Sure it may not last, but I doubt he would allow himself to feel like that towards someone and not give it a shot. As to Moana changing her game plan - I think she may be recognizing that their relationship is starting to become real. And because of that she feels less threatened by the others.

How often do romantic feelings develop if sexual attraction was not there from the beginning...especially for a man? It doesn't ensure staying power, but chemistry (sexual and emotional) can definitely be glue for a relationship. Unless ABC is editing this just to throw us (which really is unfair), I see very little chemistry between Travis and Sarah. Would you really pick someone who might be the safe choice even if they don't make your face light up when you see them?
