THANK YOU, Caitsmama and Carrie, for putting the list together!!! That must have taken a lot of time. We appreciate it. Thanks again. :dance3:

I thought I had posted here but perhaps not since I don't think I made the list. I will definitely be there again this year!

ok silly question..but how do you girls deal with the hair issue with all of this constant running :lmao:

since it's winter i've been getting by with blowing it out 2-3 times a week and relying on dry shampoo and the flat iron for touch ups...but curious to see what everyone else does!

Hi Princesses... hope everyone is ready for the upcoming weekend :goodvibes We're supposed to be getting more winter weather here this Saturday.. which will put a damper on my plans for an outdoor run on Saturday... I can't stand running in the cold.. let alone the cold and snow.. more power to you ladies up north that get out in this stuff every day... I'm lucky my apartment complex has a gym with 2 treadmills, and especially lucky no one ever seems to use the gym:lmao:
I realized yesterday that I don't have as long to train as I thought I did (for some reason I thought there were 7 more weeks not 6 :rolleyes1) so last night I stepped up my training from a short run of 2 miles to a short run of 3 miles.. I'm trying to decide if I should do a long run of 4 miles this week or a long run of 5. Thanks for the suggestions recently on the boards about incline on the TM... I have always run with an incline of 1-2 to get more like running outside in the elements... last night, because you guys suggested run flat to increase mileage, I ran with no incline and the run was pretty easy:goodvibes I also run with the nike+ program and have seen a similar problem between the street and the TM that some of you have noticed... it's perfect on the streets with regards to mileage... but on the TM it's about .3 miles off (last night according to it I did 3.6 miles) and my pace is faster on the TM. I'm going by the TM as the final say for now.. but I prefer to say the Nike+'s time (12.39/mile) since my TM really doesn't break it down nice and easy for me :rolleyes1

I've been in the process of reading through all the posts on this thread over the week (i'm on pg 62.. you guys are chatty LOL) there's so much great info on here! I noticed a few people talking about car-pooling from non-host hotels. I'm staying at the Animal Kingdom Villa's (Kidani) and will have a car if anyone was interested in riding over together. DH might be along for the drive over as our cheaufer :goodvibes depending on what we decide about DD (10 months at the time of the race) and weather or not we decide to let my girlfriend be responsible for her that morning or I might just drive over and leave DH in the hotel with DD if we can figure out a way for them to meet us to watch the race at some point. My DH doesn't like using the bus transportation (hence the car:headache:) so he might have fun trying to navigate a bus along with DD and her stroller... I'd like to be a fly on the wall for that experience :lmao:

Hope everyone has a great Thursday!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

I just changed my hotel from kidani to OKW because I was afraid I wouldn't get a taxi. I guess I should have waited. I hear you about the winter weather. I have my 8 mile on Saturday and I woke up to snow and ice this am....I love winter but not on my training days. I don't have a treadmill so I will be out in a blizzard if I have to (lets hope not)

I am thinking more and more about what to wear though as with outdoor cold weather training I don't have the oportunity to try out my gear :scared1:

sailor's wfe, I'll be in Jambo and I was going to get a taxi, but if you're offering up a spot in your car, I would love to join in! Thanks.

:scared:We'll put you in the same category as leaving myself out. Knew you, knew you were doing it.....:rolleyes1

Sailor's Wife Do you know that some roads close to auto traffic? Just be careful about when you leave or if your DH is trying to get around in a car to see you.

disney_mommy We stayed in Jambo House last week and it was really nice...the pool is almost finished being revamped and should be nice-the pool at Kidani is nice too. The small spa at Jambo is great...you can get a massage ( I had Laurie and she was great-very relaxing), or use the steam room.

I wash, dry and straighten my hair every morning. After workouts, I put it up in a ponytail and shower, without getting it wet. Sometimes I will wet the ends and put in a deep conditioner and leave it on till the morning.

I shower twice a day and wash my hair too! In the shower in the am, to wake up and of course wash my hair --- when I run 4 days a week I get back in the shower at night and wash my hair :rotfl:

I am italian, so oily hair comes with that lovely trait! My hair is doing fine with it, and I blow dry my hair almost daily too. I do buy salon products as it seems to help my hair with as many washes & blow dries I do :)

Do what works for you!

I also shower 2x / day and wash my hair each time on days i workout.. other days i shower/wash hair every a.m..
I have fine hair, so i need to... otherwise, it's a scary sight!

I will update those names now! :)

Corinna - glad i will see you again! (I literally bumped into Corinna in November at Epcot.. too funny, both of us on a regular vacation.. ) I am planning on walk/run the 5k, it's my dd's first "big" race, and i am worried how she will handle the 3 miles.. LOL She did the kids race last time (1/4 mile) and took off like a bull from the start - but then got really tired.. LOL i tried to explain the whole "endurance" thing, and that faster isn't always better.. :)

I don't do anything different... I shower after I run and let my hair air dry.

Has anyone received a race newsletter recently? I called several weeks ago to have my name added to the list to start receiving them since I hadn't gotten anything since my October registration and sent them an email about it too. They assured me I would get the next one. I just called them and they said they just sent one out and if I didn't get it not to worry I should get one by the end of Feb. (not feeling so confident about that). I wanted to see if they mentioned the after- party. They told me on the phone again today that they weren't having one and not to change my dining reservation, despite having mentioned on the recent chat that they were working on one. I never know when I call whether the person I'm talking to knows what they are doing or if what they say to me is accurate. Very frustrating. If you did get the newsletter can you post if there was anything I might need to know. Thanks so much! Leah

I got a newsletter email last week, it doesn't say anything about a post-race party. I can forward it to you if you would like.

I only wash my hair about 2-3 times a week, max. I am very, very dry (dry skin/hair), my hair is long, and I have to dye it every 5 weeks due to over 60% gray (at age 34).

What I do is wash, blow it out, flat iron, etc. and am able to wear it straight for two days and up the third (either pony or twisted up).

For running/working out, I wear it up in a ponytail and clip the bangs up, then shower just body/face, and blow it back out when done. For ice hockey, I do the same and then wear a bandana under my helmet.

All 7 of us in our group are staying at BWV. Is there a place to park? We will have at least 3 cars...

Hi G&G Mom,

I would love if you could forward me the newsletter. I tried to send you a private message with my email address but not sure if you got it as it said I needed at least 10 posts first. Let me know and I will try to get you it some other way. Thanks so much.

Leah

I sent you a message!

Would anyone be willing to post the email here, so we could all see it? Pretty please?:)
