Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

For the stage show does anything happen other than characters and celebs being introduced? Are they the same characters that are in the parade? ie would we be missing out big time if we just saw the parade and didn't see the stage part?

Also thanks for answering my question about characters that sign and when the map will come out. I'm the planner - DD and DH are the huge Star Wars fans!

Thanks!

It's the only opportunity to get a picture of all the characters and celebrities together, other than that, that's it.
JAmes Arnold Taylor introduces the visiting celebrities, talks about the shows at the Premiere Theater, they all pose for pictures and small fireworks go off

I will be cancelling a D-Tech ME experience in about 15 minutes (2:00 CST).

It was scheduled for Saturday May 24, 2014 at 4:30pm.

Just a heads up in case this is a great time for someone.

Edited at 2:03pm - cancelled.

Having a hard time making FP+ decisions... We've been to SWW with our two DS (now 7 & 9) before and spent probably 2.5 days entirely at DHS but this is the first time we will have our two DD (4 & 4) who have very little interest. I have a full day planned Th. @ MK and was going to spend all day Fri (w/ FTF & H&V dinner) & Sat (w/ a Sci Fi bkfast) and until we head home Sun around lunch at DHS but now I'm not sure if I can keep the little girls entertained and now debating scheduling some FP+ and park hopping Fri. & Sat. Would love to hear what others are doing with split interest children. Or any other opinions about staying at DHS all weekend vs. doing some park hopping.

We are spending Thursday, Friday and Sunday at DHS. We have dd9, dd4, and ds2. We all going to stick together. My dd9 would like the shows but the little ones won't make it so we aren't going to do any of those. She really just wants autographs. I've been showing the littles you tube videos of the characters so they know who we are talking about. We have other things planned during the day like B&TB, H&V with the Disney characters, and Disney Junior. So we are trying to do something for everyone. We also have the Star wars dinner and breakfast planned. Hope you all have a great trip.

Assuming the line is the same set up as past years, do NOT head towards Star Tours since the line will already be forming. Instead walk to his line passing ABC Commissary. You'll spot his queue on your left hand side shortly after you pass the Idol audition spot. There is a break in his queue where the side walk breaks to allow people to pass by.

Thank you for this info. I would have headed in the wrong direction, straight to Star Tours!

You can still head towards star tours. That's what we did last year. But we would have been a little further ahead in line going the other way, because wee had to keep walking to find the end of the line which was growing.

RUMOR: I'm sure you guys have heard this already but there's a possiblity that during Thursday's ceremony for DHS 25th anniversary they will announce Star Wars Land

Is George Lucas expected to be there? He didn't show for the SciFi breakfast. :(

Front of the park to the Hat Stage, most of the parade (characters and celebrities) go on stage for the welcome ceremony, the only part of the parade that marches on are the members of the 501sta nd Rebel Legion....they keep marching past the Hat and exit the park by Star Tours

I don't like that. That isn't a very long distance.

When I was at SWW 8 years ago they started at the front of the park and everyone ended by Star Tours. Makes for a lot more viewing options.

I moved our breakfast reservation at H&V from 10:10 to 9:15 so we have more time to get a decent spot for the parade. Don't know what kind of luck we'll have because it's the first day Mark Hamill will be there.

I'm also hoping we'll get to the park for RD so we have time to see Chewbaca before breakfast. That's the plan for now anyway.

They changed it to the hat stage because the area had more room for the welcome ceremony... Mark Hamill weekend will be crazy.... good luck to all of us

That's really made me well up. What a happy memory. I think that you are doing an amazing job and I hope that this trip brings you both lots of joy. xxx

I smiled really big when I read about your family's DV adventure. Please do share

Thank you both!!!

I just mentioned something about Star Wars Land and you should have seen E's head whip around and his eyes light up! That would be awesome but I'll always wish DH was with us (physically).

Speaking of Star Wars, we just saw the trailer for the new Lego series on Disney XD! Woo hoo! Starts this weekend.

Two weeks until we leave and are so excited! The question I have is about clothing. I bought a really cool t-shirt but it's black. I don't know if I should not wear it or just wear a tank top. Is a black tshirt in May for SWW crazy? We are pretty much in the park from opening to close so figured I would buy a new tshirt or bring a shirt to change into.

Same thing here! My son can't wait. When I told him things take years to build, he was a little less happy.

Yes!.My son is so excited about the Yoda Chronicles! In fact,.I am going to cancel our character dinner May 4th, so we're home in time. I was able to reschedule the dinner. My son loves Tom Kane and can't wait to see the show on Disney XD. His new Lego magazine came yesterday. Yoda Chronicles was on one cover and Rebels on the other.

Black is not the best choice but plenty of people wear it anyways...But it's a good idea to bring another shirt just in case. Its' already hitting 93 degrees here in Orlando so it's going to be a very hot SWW
