Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

Still trying to figure it out...It says left side as you face the stage near Echo Lake, so, if you're familiar with DHS, I'm thinking that area where they put the DHS photo op, that you can take a picture in front of...it's so hard to explain...whene some characters come out in the mirning to take pictures? That's the area I'm thinking it'll be, it's shaded by trees, so that's a good thing

I'm pretty familiar with DHS. Does that mean facing the stage (which is in front of the hat) with your back to Echo Lake? That would be a great vantage point as long as they're not selling 2000 tickets lol. Any idea how many tickets they're selling for this package? My fear is being crammed into a small reserved section. :crazy2: BTW..thank you for all you do in keeping up this thread! It is much appreciated!

There's no official word on how many, but 200 has been mentioned

For the autograph sessions do they provide photos or anything that you can get signed or do you need to bring your own items?

They usually have black and white head shots (5x7) to sign if you don't bring anything else. We have had them sign books, hats, and postcards but I think most of them will sign a variety of items.

Is the feel the force something that can be canceled if our plans change or are we locked in as soon as I reserve it?

It's a one day cancellation fee

Feel the Force is a one day cancellation, but since it's prepaid I am thinking that if you don't cancel it in time, you don't get a refund.

I am not a Jar Jar hater. My step son was 9 when Episode 1 came out and his favorite character was (and is) Jar Jar. Even my DD enjoys Jar Jar. I get that he is annoying to many adults, but he is loved by the kids of our house! I seem to recall the Ewoks did not have a very favorable reception back when ROTJ came out either, but I was a 7 year old girl and they have always been my favorites! :goodvibes

Counting down the days!

I too was young when Episode I had come out. I was 10 and I remember and don't have much of a problem with Jar Jar realizing he was always there for the kids.

I just figured that must be the reason to choose him as a celebrity guest because it's targeted towards would the kids who enjoy Star Wars as it is now as opposed to the many adults who loathe the idea of the prequels (I, II, III) anyway.

Either way, I hope because of that, those who wish to see him really get to take advantage of a shorter line if that is what happens.

And yes! Counting down the days! :goodvibes

I was told I could cancel 2 days prior to the event and get my money back, anytime after that was no refund. Hope this helps.

I told my DS who the celebrities were going to be during the 1st weekend and asked if there was anyone he couldn't miss. He said he really wants to see Ahmed Best: Jar Jar and Peter Mayhew: Chewbacca

Just to make sure I understand this correctly:

1. We need to be at the park no later than 5am?

2. Can my DH stand in Peter Mayhew's line while I stand in Ahmed Best's line and my DS run from one line to the other to get both bands?

3. If my DS was to get a rest band and I didn't have one then could I still take his picture for him (I'm not ready to let him stand in a line alone unless I can see him.)

4. What are the chances we could get both of these people? (There are only three of us going - me, DH and DS)

If the chance of getting both is very slim or we can't take him with us unless he has a wrist band himself then I guess I need him to place them in some kind of order.

Thanks again for all the info! Loving this thread!!!

Well, just got off the phone with Disney Dining. I don't think the CM knew what I was talking about at first when I said I wanted to book the Feel the Force package. She asked "which one? the breakfast or the dinner? Then she put me on hold and came back. But I am now booked and it is showing up in MDE. Although she correctly charged me for 4 (Disney) adults and 1 child, I'm showing up as the child in MDE! I'm assuming that really doesn't matter, right? My 9 yr old is showing up as an adult.

I'm so excited about reserved seating for the parade and fireworks. We're signed up for June 8th. I figure since that is one of the days that Mark Hamill will be there, its going to be even more crowded than normal and I bet we'll be glad we booked the package. I hope. Disney sure is a master at separating me from my money, aren't they? :rotfl2:

Yullin,

Can you add the Roll Call thread and the Photo/Update thread to the first post? or is it just for information??

I hope this is okay to post here...I want those following SWW to have the chance to get this! I also posted on the cancellation board.
I was able to get an earlier adr, so I am going to be cancelling
Hollywood & Vine special Star Wars Buffet dinner with Jedi Mickey and Friends

1.Yes, no clue on Best's line so I'm imagining before 5 should be Ok
2. You can only get a wristband/fp for one actor a day. You can't get both
3. You can take a picture from the outside of the tent
4. same as answer 2. Only one wristband per day.

Is the force be with you package worth it? Trying to decide. We are traveling with 6 of us, 4 being kids. So it would be costly

I understand that this is something new so I'm not sure that any one can give a true opinion based on experience. It'll be worth it for us as we'll have a designated spot for viewing the parade and will be planning to see the fireworks now later that evening. I'm excited about this one!

That helps. He will have to pick which one he really wants to see because I'm not doing the 5am more than one morning! :rotfl2: Unless he gives me those eyes that says "but Mom your the coolest Mom in the whole world can't you just do it this one time." :yoda:

Thanks for the info.

While I understand your point and certainly appreciate your opinion, just to clarify.... John Ratzenberger is more than the guy who played Cliff from Cheers and was a small part in ESB. He has been a voice character in every single Pixar movie including main characters in several. He has 130 acting credits on IMDb and that doesn't include his directing, producing or writing credits. To some folks, he is a very big deal.:worship:

As for the Jar Jar Binks guy, I couldn't agree more.;)

I'm actually sad that the only weekend we can't go (school commitments) is the first one, because the only non-rebels celebrity that I don't have an autograph of is the Jar Jar Binks guy, and we have an episode 1 poster with a lot of signs that I would like to add him to.

Since we can't go, I wonder if anyone would pick me up one of his signed cards, I will pick up one of whoever you want from a later weekend. You don't have to have a fast pass for the signed head shots.
