Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

I know that Mark Hamill has been announced for the 6-8th, but have the other actors been announced yet? My eyes started rolling back in my head after page #25 of the thread due to information overload.

It looks like DH and I will be there on Memorial Day weekend and then my friend, her sister and I will be there for the very last weekend. I managed to get ADRs for both character meals for both trips.

I figured as much, but I wanted to be thorough. DH and I will be going that Saturday and Sunday and it may be our only chance to make SWW, so we're trying to hit the top things! I wish that we could go the weekend that the original Luke is there, but I teach school and we'll have to be there on that Saturday the 7th thanks to all our ice days.

I'm so excited for our first SWW it is ridiculous... we have booked the dinner at H&V ... outfit ordered from Etsy for DD3... shirt ordered for me... autograph book created ... I keep pouring over my plans ... looking to make some change just because I am tired of waiting! So happy that tomorrow is April... that means May is just a month away!!

Anyway... just sharing my morning excitement!

I stayed up till midnight last night to do my first ever FP+ picks. It was pretty simple, but I don't like being limited in my selection. I would love to have had TSM AND RRC.

Are you allowed to do any additional FP's once you get to the parks, or is 3 your limit for the day? Can you get some in another park if you hop over to a different one on that day?

People have reported that after using all of their selections the have been able to get more fp+ but I have never done this. I don't think you can get any in another park. Maybe the fp+ thread started by Mesaboy can help.

What we've been doing is scheduling our fp+ for the afternoon hours and getting to the parks early and riding at rope drop with minimal wait times.

It's killing me that I won't be able to be there for the first Friday this year I started taking care of my niece who's 2 and nephew who's 3 months to help my sister out while she works and I have them all week so my only days off are the weekends...I'm still trying to find a way to be able to go that morning, if only until after the parade...I think it's time to call grandma

Maybe they need to experience their first SWW? That's assuming you are local, if no, grandma is the perfect solution!

If it was just the 2 year old I would but not with her and a 3 month old. Plus I like going the first Friday to walk around and get aprox. wait times for things like characters and the parade...I'll talk to grandma and see what I can do, if not I'll def. be there bright and early on Saturday.
And yes, I'm a local, you probably see my house each time you take the magical express (you can see my house from the 417) about 5 minutes from the airport

I know in the past they have had SWW for 3 weekends but this year it has been changed to 4 weekends, just in everyone's personal opinions do you think next year they will still do 4 weekends? If so and it's done like this year we can make the last weekend, as he gets out of school that Wednesday we can come down on Thursday and be a Studios on Friday. He is hopnig that is the case

Any ideas why they added an additional weekend and do you think they will do it the same next year?

We can't go this year due to already having things planned for July.

Actually it's always been 4 weekends and they added the 5th. Last time they added a fifth weekend was 2005. Next year you can be sure of 4 weekends with a strong possibility of an added 5th weekend since the movie will come out next year.
As to why they added another weekend could be because of the popularity of the event and the total control that Disney now has with the Star Wars franchise

I am so jealous! We did our one and only SWW a few years back and had a blast! SO wish we were going this year, but tentatively planning for next year! Hoping the character meals are a success and they keep them!!! In the meantime, living vicariously through this thread!
