Do we think the Fab Four-as-SW guys will be in the merch tent again? Do they normally start meeting at 9 also? Is is clearly marked which line is for chars vs for merch? Do you go under the RNRC "gate" I.e. where the car is hanging and bear right behind the bldg? And is there a secret tunnel to there from the TSMM FP machines??? LOL!!!

The Fab Four are not in the merch tent, they have an area next to the exit of Great Movie Ride...the ones that meet at the tent are Luke, Leia, R2D2 and C3P0...there's someone telling you where the line for characters is inside the tent...there's a gate to the right of the RnRC fastpass machines that they open to let you go "backstage" the tent is right there
no secret tunnels :D

Dee Bradley Baker is awesome. I wonder how early we need to plan on getting there for a wristband. Hmm.

I know he was hoping for that...so happy he will be able to get it signed...

So excited for him!

This has been an exciting morning! From May the 4th JTA for adults. And new Her Universe clothes coming out on May 4th. To the announcement of the new daytime parade for 2014. What a great morning today is!

Yes!! I woke up to questions on facebook if I was going to JTA on May the 4th. I thought they might be pulling my leg, lol. Oh! When my husband finds out. Are you going?

So excited for him!

YES!! excited to get my SW on before SWW...I won't be there at rope drop, will try and sleep until maybe 9am then go...just take it in, not planning on being on my feet a lot since I have the 5K to run at 10pm. Maybe ride Star Tours...hopefully we'll get a schedule on when the fireworks are, I'm hoping midnight, that way I can run the 5K at AK , grab my medal and be back in DHS for that. Excited about the new parade as well, boy it's time for Celebrate the Magic to go...it'll be fun to watch parents on the JTA stage.

No doubt! It will be fun. We'll probably just have to come later for fireworks. I think my dh is working that day anyway.

Can anyone give me a realistic look at how long it will take to get SWs characters pictures and autographs? This will be our first vaca at The World and my son will want to meet all the characters. How long are the lines? It's really hard to plan something when you have no idea what to expect :confused3 TIA

Can't wait to read the answers. We usually avoid SWW completely, but daughter has decided she'd like to gather autographs/pictures this year. Not sure how to plan it. I'm going to try to read more of this thread over the weekend.

The one year I tracked our time, it took us over 24hrs to collect all the autographs over 2 days. That did not include any celebs. Most of that time was spent standing under the blazing sun in lines as it was before they erected the tent. Other years we didn't get all the autographs but I feel like we spent well over 12/hrs per day standing in lines and we did collect celeb autographs so lots of extra time waiting in those lines.

And my kids still want to go back every year for some odd reason! ;)

I assume every character has their own line? I think I better prepare my daughter and us not do this. She will not like long lines for characters that she doesn't even know.

Maybe we could come over and just get the ones like Mickey and Minnie in their different outfits. Hmmmm

This is one of those questions that's hard to answer...If you want every single character it will take you a long time. I break it down like this:

Disney SW characters:one of the longest lines, in the sun all day, plus they rotate. So you can start making the line when Minnie and Donald are there and when you get to the front of the line, it's Mickey and Goofy...at least 40 minutes on this line to get one group.

Chewbacca and Ewok: another long line, more shaded. It's long because Chewie has to take more frequent breaks and he's so lovable...at least 40 min. in this one. You might get lucky and get Chewie with the Ewock or by himself.

Darth Vader: long line, completely under roof. What can I say, everyone loves the Darth Lord. Usually 45min.

Clone Wars: Again another rotating quartet. You might get Ahsoka by herself or with Rex or Cody, Asajj might come and take o ver. This one is about 30 min. Again completely in the sun

Queen Amidala: In the sun, she meets by herself, it could take about 20 min.

Darth Maul: Very popular, semi in the shade, it could take 30 min.,

Bobba and Jango Fett: rotating characters, most of the time in the sun. It can take 30min.

Jedi Council: rotating characters, between Anakin, Mace Windu, Kitt Fisto and Shaak Tii, you can get 2 or 3 or all 4. In the sun. About 20min.

Droids, Luke and Leia: In the merch. tent, so nice and cool, again rotating. It could take 40min.

Rotating characters are the easiest ones to get since there's no line for them.

So here's what I suggest....make a plan and priority.
If you want the Disney SW characters get there as early as possible and start making that line...the same for Chewie and Darth Vader...and then go to the rest of them.

Disney SW characters are by the exit of Great Movie Ride(the four rotate)
Queen Amidala by Sounds Dangerous
Chewbacca and Ewok by Star Tours
Clone Wars characters: By Premiere Theater (exit to Muppets) (the four rotate)
Jedi Council by San Francisco Mural (the four rotate)
Darth Vader by exit to Backlot Tour
Darth Maul next to the entrance of Backlot Tour
Bobba and Janfo Fett by entrance to Backlot Tour (the two rotate)
Droids, Luke and Leia inside merch. tent (the four rotate)

roaming characters:
By star Tours: Cantina Band
By Muppet vision 3D: Jawas and Clonetroopers
By Backlot Tour: Aurra Sing, Zam Wessel, Gamorrean Guard, Stormtroopers, Tuscan Raiders

this sounds about right and not at all exagerating...it's a sense of accomplishment that makes us do this year after year

They don't all have their own lines, many just rotate between characters so you could wait an hour in line and get to the front and it's a person you've already met and not the one you were hoping for. Normally people just let you in front of them until the character they are waiting for arrives and switches out.

It's not easy at all and it takes stamina and vast amount of patience and sunscreen and cold drinks...don't forget the cold drinks.

I'm thinking it's the memory loss...kind of like childbirth. We can talk about it and how hard it was but we quickly forget what it feels like until we are already there! LOL
