WE are staying at POP also and will be there for first weekend

I was told by Ticket Cm I could do mine at Guest relations window, I am doing a renewal/ticket upgrade

Hi Fire14,

It looks like we are currently neighbors, as I am from Pennsylvania, and we are going to be neighbors in May! Thank you for the AP information! We fly in on the 16th and will most likely convert our AP's that evening.

Hope to see you there!!

Rick

I converted my PAP at Epcot, in the Odyssey building. Be sure to have a photo id, it's required.

I get in afternoon of 15th, the guys get in late the 15th. Yes I hope to see u. I will probably put Dis ears on my door, plus DH and I both have dis ears on backpack

I would say 75% of the turnstiles are converted to RFID, leaving the remaining 25% as the old ones...the cast members wishing to pass guest have to still use the old turnstiles, plus all the people that have regular tickets.
If you have the posibility of converting your pass, do it...not sure if you can do it anywhere but I did at Epcot. The process is super fast.

Yulilin3,

Thank you for your thoughts!! You confirmed what I was thinking that if I stayed with the paper ticket that I may be delayed getting into the park. Although my, at 12, I am not sure my son will want to do JTA this year. Last year he felt awkward as the tallest kid there.

After three years of posting back and forth on the SWW thread, we hope to bump into you this year.

Not sure when you're going but there's usually a studios central meet on the first Saturday... maybe we can plan dis meets for all the weekends?

I forgot all about the studios central meet. I guess because I have not been down the first weekend before. This year will be my first first weekend. Would love to do a Dis Meet.

Can't wait to get away and head south!!!

Have a great night all!

Just got my official 501st Legion approval. I am doing what I can to see if I can qualify to march in the parade. Worst case scenario, I will be a member of the Legion having a ball. Best case, I do the "Florida Death March" with my new brothers and sisters! WHOO HOOO!

Ash

Congrats ash -- fingers crossed for you !!

Hoping to submit my photos for entry this week . For the flg to march the first weekend ..
But basement flooded so its been touch and go !!

Sorry to hear that! Hope that gets sorted and you can submit.

I have a troop this weekend, then free comic book day, so I ought to have my two officially in time. THen a couple of pics, and voila. Can't imagine it being a problem, made approval on first pass in about 8 hours. And my Detachment CO had no real issues with it that should ding me.

Either way, though, I will be wearing my garrison and legion shirts/hats/whatever proudly while I am there, marching or not.

Hi, we are brand new to this, so any help is much appreciated. My 8 year loves Star Wars. We are going to be there the weekend of May 24th. Is it scary busy? What are some things we don't wanna miss

"scary busy" is vague...some people think it's busy if they have to wait 15min. in a line and some don't mind being at MK with the park at phase 4 closure...
It's busy, not shoulder to shoulder, the regular attractions won't experience a lot of change in crowds other than Star Tours,
Things not to miss, again depends on preference.
We love Hyperspace Hoopla but for that you must grab a spot at least an hour before or be happy watching it in front of the AIE Jumbotron
We love all the shows, and the parade and the characters...maybe if you give a bit more info on your families likes and dislikes we'll be able to help you more.

We are planning to go to SWW on Fri, May 17, first day! Our only real interest is checking out the merchandise and walking around a bit, might stay to see the motorcade if it is noonish. Considering all that, if we got there at 930 or so, are we good to go? We won't do autographs or anything and we will already have been at the studios to do the touring of the park on Thurs. what will we miss if we aren't there when the park opens?

My DH and I will be attending our first SWW during our first anniversary trip on May 18th and this thread has helped my planning soooo much. I just have one question about that day; the Disney website has the park listed at closing at 10pm, but says there will be a Fantasmic! showing at 10:30pm. Is that correct/normal?

We will be there, too. It will be busy, no doubt. Everything will be busy....but I love that part of it. I love seeing all the characters/excitement
