Official Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend - The Dark Side 2017

I'm not really following any plan right now, but managing a case of plantar fasciitis in my left foot (should have paid more attention to the pain back in Oct oops). I just got superfeet green inserts and got in some miles last week (after a week off due to pain and 0 degrees) and I think they are helping. I did get a 5 miler in on Saturday which was the longest in a few weeks with no major shooting heel pain. We have freezing rain all day so no run today. Really hoping for good Feb/Mar weather as I'm so over winter already. I need to hash out a rough plan though as I guess we are only about 3 months out I guess, eek!

My training has been going great so far. I have been using my Nike+run club app and the Jeff Galloway training as well. I'm planning on running an eight mile run tomorrow. Weather has been cold, but I've braved the elements so far. Only 92 days left.
 
Has anyone stayed at Old Key West during the half? This is my first half and was just curious about any info for race and busses.
 

Was just going through my resort options and despite thinking I was going to try something new it was just too easy to settle for the old reliable. Headed back to POR on the 20th-25th for The Dark Side Challenge. Super excited to have everything booked. Time to obsess over ADRs and FP+.
 
So now I am a little bit nervous. I found out today I have an enlarged spleen and so I've been ordered to "baby" it for about a month until it hopefully calms down. Unfortunately that means I can't run for a month... I've been given the ok to walk and speed walk so hopefully I can keep some sort of fitness level so I can jump back into training as soon as I'm given the clear! Hopefully I'll be good for the challenge....
 
I am curious what time I will likely start if I start in last corral?
I didn't submit POT last year and the corrals went up to L. We started 1 hour after the first corral went. The elites were close to finishing before we even started. If you don't submit a POT, be sure to be at the front of the corral. I know the course is changing this year, but there was huge bottleneck in parts of the course, especially at the beginning

I think as long as you speed walk, you should be good for that month. Good luck with your spleen, hopefully it cooperates!
 
Just upgraded to the challenge... I told DH I would sell one of my Disney Dooneys... Plans are to stay off property with a rental car. If prices drop for Friday night on property we might reconsider.
Yay for the challenge - and I love the bargaining aspect :)
 
@hotblooded You can like others said just make sure you enter the Proof of time when registering, meaning you can't do it later in active like if you registered before the 19th.

Don't be nervous, you will still have plenty of time to get training in and be alright. Not ideal, but you will be alright if you commit to it when you get the go ahead (and as long as you aren't expecting a PR). Personally I just got my first run in this week in almost 2 months because I blew my hip up and it's just finally recovered enough I can get some light running on it. Only went for about 20 minutes, but I'm trying to ease my way back into the running plan.

It's allowed, but you want to be able to hear on-course announcements. They'll be telling you when speed bumps are coming up, if there's a sharp turn, when the course narrows, etc. You also want to be able to hear volunteers and your fellow runners!

They do have signs for them as well. I wore mine last year and had no issues. I personally can't run without music.
