Official Star Wars Half Marathon Thread...Jan 15-18th, 2015!!

Ok, so I completely forgot to submit my new proof of time for Rebel Challenge. I did a half last weekend that was 20 minutes faster than the time I previously submitted. Is there any way to submit that time, or am I just out of luck?:confused3

I'm pretty sure your out of luck, since they posted on twitter and Facebook many times the due date but again it also never hurts to try.

Yep, got an email back telling me that I was too late to update my time. I know it's my fault for being late, but honestly,,the race is still 3 months away! If the corrals are the same as they were for Dumbo this year, it won't matter. I just know DH and I will be stopping for a lot of pictures and he would like to be in a faster corral!

I'm def looking forward to stopping for pictures more this time. At ToT, I didn't stop at all so this time I want to get more of the RunDisney experience.

I do agree that with alittle less then 3 months it seems a stretch about submitting times but they must have some sort of reason for the policy.

Hey y'all! Just thought I'd join this thread. I look forward to reading back through the past 5 months worth of discussion. My husband and I and are doing the Rebel Challenge. We're both giant Disney geeks, I'm the runner, he's the Star Wars fan and we love to support each others' interests so this is going to be such an awesome weekend for us. We were a little late to the game here in that we registered for the race and right afterward we moved to Texas so booking airfare & hotel sort of went on the backburner until he could get synced up with his new job and get solid travel dates nailed down, but now we're all booked and ready. Can't wait!

I know! And def excited about being part of the first one! Will be interesting to see how Avengers goes.
I'll give all y'all an update after I go to avengers event

I'm still bummed I didn't register for Avengers :( But at least I'm close enough that I can check everything out - and I definitely want to work on the course this year. Fingers crossed.

In other news, it sounds like my friend and I decided on our costumes!

If you do work the Avengers course you'll have to tell us where you're gonna be so we can say hi!

Does of anywhere else that has any 10k bibs available? The websited listed on the runDisney website all say sold out :( I'm running the Rebel Challenge but my friend really wants to join in the 10k and I would love it so much but we can't find anywhere that has any bibs available. And we are both really too shy to raise $1,000 by way of the charity groups.

Do you know if the Acclaim website holds some or are they truly sold out? Thank you.

I believe Acclaim sent out an email saying they still had bibs for Star Wars so I would call and ask.

Question for DL vets, the window for reservations is coming up in a few weeks, I know DL dining is a lot different then WDW but with it being SW 1/2 weekend and the extra crowds, for must do dining is it still suggested to make a reservation? I already have a simi plan in mind about dining but don't want to make this trip all about "be here and eat at a certain time" all trip. Any help would be great!

My only experience at DL on a holiday weekend was during the Disneyland Half last year during Labor Day weekend. I had made some reservations about 45 days ahead of time at the more popular places like Blue Bayou but nothing else. I found there was great availability on the day of to make reservations that we wanted. I would e-mail for the dining reservations in the morning and within an hour at most I would have a confirmation for our lunch or dinner reservation. I think you can do dining reservations online now too for Disneyland. It's a lot different than Disney World!

From my experience, I have been able to get 'day of' reservations when and where I wanted to. I use the Disneyland website>Things To Do>Dining>Make Reservations, accessed using my phone, to make reservations, even within an hour of when I want to dine.

A most recent example, the morning of the Disneyland half marathon, after the race and a good shower, I felt like eating breakfast at Storyteller's Cafe... checked availability at 8 am, made a reservation for 9:00 am, and enjoyed the morning (at my own pace, so to speak, without feeling tied to a previously scheduled breakfast reservation).

If you have a "must do," I'd make a reservation in advance. If you are a bit flexible in your selections (though you might not need to be), I'd say you'll be fine being spontaneous with making reservations/just walking up.

Enjoy your visit!!

Last year after the Tink half we knew we wanted to eat at Carthay Circle for lunch and we were a decent sized group so we made reservations. If you're a smaller party you could probably get away without making reservations. But if you're more than 2 people I would go ahead and make them at the dining places that are important to you. And I would always make reservations for Blue Bayou and any character meals.

Party for two here - I figure if you KNOW you want to eat at x around y, why not make the reservation? No way to be disappointed that way! :thumbsup2 I know for certain Steakhouse 55 is usually booked solid after the half - always see people being turned away when we show up for our reservation there.
