He's a good judge in names!:thumbsup2

I always thought so! She's a great kid, and they have been friends since kindergarten. They go to different schools now, but we get together quite often so they can hang out, so her mother and I are good friends too.
Saw you leave in a week. Have a great trip:banana: !

Yeah:sad1: ...after my son and I commiserated together came to the DISboards to try and cheer myself up. But I am a rabid college football fan, so TV kept going with updates and kept seeing it over...and over...and over...:scared:

Does anyone remember anything about the clock? I'm assuming that it's a clock radio. Some of the Disney resorts have upgraded to a unit that has a sound machine and a place to plug MP3 player. Has Shades upgraded to anything like that? I need sound to fall asleep. I'm planning on bringing my MP3 player that has a 'rain' on it but would rather not be hooked to the earphones during the night. I have the CD too if they had a CD player in the room but I'm sure that I'm asking for too much.

Considering they are still using the same bedpreads, etc they always have, and cheapened from trial sizes of shampoo, etc to a dispenser on the wall, I highly doubt they would go to the expense of something like a high tech radio. We always bring an electric cooler anyway and use the fan on that as our white noise.

They are still the old clock radio ones. Nothing special about them, except that they are still working 20 yrs after purchase! I dont believe there is a DVD or CD player in the room. We just put the tv on low and set the sleep timer.

I remember when they had VHS players in each room and a video rental machine in the hall.

Too true.

May have to get a travel speaker for my MP3. Thanks

Have they not upgraded to a DVD player in the room? I am just thinking that my DD (4) may need to come back to the room for a nap/quiet time and it would be nice to put in a DVD to watch. I guess I should pack our portable one.

No DVD player in the room.

I remember the VHS with the rentals!

I hate the dispenser on the wall in the shower. Bring soap and shampoo.

Not sure where to ask this, so I thought I'd start here. We're staying at SOG Dec 11-17. If we purcahse our park tickets there, do they charge tax or is it tax-free like AAFES?

Thanks!

Also, does anyone have a recent shuttle schedule? I'm just trying to get a feel for how frequently the transportation runs from SOG to TT and the parks.

Thanks!

:welcome: to the DIS, dnroach!

No, you do NOT have to pay sales tax if you buy your park tickets through the SOG ticket office. Current prices are on the SOG website. However, if you are near a base/post, check the prices at MWR or ITT there--they are often even cheaper than the SOG ticket office. Also, prices seem to vary from base to base, so if you're near more than one (or go TDY), check around!

I know that WAY back on this thread someone had posted a shuttle schedule from January 2008, but I don't know of a more recent one. Not sure how much it changes throughout the year. Perhaps a recent visitor can post a more current one?

Not kidding, WAY BACK...try page 41 post 604. No one has posted anything more current. When I cross referenced it with my last schedule from '06 it was almost the same. Very few changes. If you really want to know for sure, e-mail SOG and ask them to send you a copy. They are quick to answer back and they can e-mail it to you.

Thanks for the info on the tix and the schedule. One more quick question: about how big are the in-room fridges? My mom had some medical needs, including a rather large ice mat for her back (about 10x12 inches). I'm wondering if it will accomodate something like that.

It probably would. Are you talking about the fridge area or the freezer? If you mean the freezer, no. I remember it as being a small freezer area. Once again, check with the hotel. They can give you better details.:goodvibes

I was just there last night and I don't think that ice mat should be a problem. The refrigerator is "college dorm" sized and should fit that. I don't recall a freezer, though...

There is no DVD player in the room. There is also just a standard clock radio...nothing special.

We would have loved a DVD player just for that 5 am wake-up our ds gave us...would have been nice to pop in a DVD for him to fall back asleep to...instead, we had him jumping on our bed until we were forced to wake up! LOL

I have a question for SOG experts. If the buses don't start running till 0830
is it possible to get to DHS at rope drop? Anyone ever have trouble getting to a park at rope drop using SOG buses?
