Is there anywhere to run at SoG?
(besides the treadmill)
I know of the Poly/GF one mile run,
but I was looking for a place to do a loooong
run (8-10 miles).

For that long a run you'd have to use WDW roads. I have run on the golf paths, but never more than 3 miles and very early in the morning. Good luck

They call it the Goofy for a reason!

We stayed at SoG for our daughter's marathon run in January. There were a lot of runners there. It's a great place for spectators to stay -- never ran the Disney before, but our daughter got in the wrong coral and never could break out. That was her big problem. The entertainment on the course is awesome! You'll have a good time. Good luck

Hi, I admit I'm lazy and don't want to read the whole thread, so I'm sorry if this has been asked already. After you make your reservation, how long does it take to get you confirmation email? Also, you still need to show your LES, correct?

I think the last time we did a reservation online we had an email pretty quickly. You need to show your LES or ID when you check in.

That's happened to me before too. I was always concerned, but it was never a problem.

Sometimes the e-mail comes within minutes of hanging up, sometimes it doesn't arrive. When I made the last reservation, she said it was being sent right then...couple of hours later I hadn't gotten anything so I called back. That person sent it again and sent a hard copy in the mail. I got that e-mail before I hung up the phone. She said the record "shows that the e-mail was sent to you" but it didn't go through somehow.

i've made a reservation on the computer before and never got a confirmation. I called a couple days later to add a room and it turned out that my credit info never went through so I never really had a reservation.. so i was thankful I called, I would call to double check!

this is my first time at shades/visiting as an adult. Am I going to be completely lost when it comes to getting place to place or will there be help. Does shades give you a bus schedule? I have a general idea of how to get from place to place , ex: the TTC to the monorail, walk to the poly, but just getting nervous as it draws nearer. TIA!

Yes SoG does have a bus schedule. You will have no problem. If however you miss the SoG bus and you are stuck at AK, DHS, or a Waterpark you can take the Disney bus back to the TTC and catch the SoG bus as that bus runs every 20 minutes like clockwork.

I assume you are going to be driving to SoG? No worries . . . it's quite easy to find. Here's a link to the SoG page that gives directions from the airport:

Remember that since it's virtually across the street from the Polynesian, you can always follow the signs to that hotel as well.

Not to make you freak out or anything, but do check to see what time the last bus leaves the TTC. We were sitting there one night and no bus came. A CM came over to check on us and told us the last bus had left. Suggested a cab until I was like, "where's the walkway to the Poly?" walked right over and up the drive to SOG. Made dog gone sure that never happened again...that many trips I made a bone head mistake like that.

Here's a question that I don't recall seeing asked before:

have any of you had success in requesting a late check-out from SoG?
We have a late afternoon flight, and would love to request a check-out around 1 or 2 pm. We're leaving in early November, so it probably won't be an overly crowded time. Although, come to think of it, when is the golf tournament this year?

Has anyone ever mailed a package to SOG and had them hold it until you arrive ? We have done this twice at Pop Century and it worked out well.
